《COZplay》Part 3

Felix was sitting and staring at Marinette's back when Adrien entered the class.
Felix raised his eyes at his cousin and his body intuitively tensed, as if someone had turned on a countdown timer for the seconds that left until the explosion.
He knew that it would happen today, but he didn't expect such a dramatic reaction and oppressive expectation from himself.
"Hey Adrien!" Marinette exclaimed, jumping from her seat to meet him. "Thank you so much for the contact you gave me yesterday! He is amazing!"
"He... is?" Adrien narrowed his eyes and looked at Felix suspiciously over her head.
Felix silently met his gaze.
What could he say?
The prank went on for too long already, and at a certain point even stopped being a prank. And much earlier than Felix would expect it to happen.
Probably after the first few messages when Felix got involved into the conversation with Marinette for the first time – the prank was already forgotten. Not to mention 3 hours that he spent talking on the phone with her last night...
And Adrien — who accidentally started it all – was gonna be the one to end it.
Although Felix was somehow almost sad to lose... what exactly would he lose? It's not that he started to care what Marinette thought about him over one night!
So what if he enjoyed talking to her? So what if he saw that Marinette was much deeper and more interesting than she seemed to him at the very beginning, when she was just another Adrien's fan to him?..
This changes nothing. Right?
"Yes!" Marinette continued in the meantime. "But of course you already know how good he is, otherwise you wouldn't have given his contact to me!" She said happily.
"His contact..." Understanding flashed on Adrien's face. "I see." He said.

"We talked a lot yesterday." Marinette informed. "He explained so much to me! And he even wrote a few lines for our script!" Marinette closed her eyes for a moment and sighed. "He is so amazing, with such a deep inner world..."
Felix felt a lump in his throat at the anticipation of his cousin's next words that would shatter the perfect picture in this girl's head. Perhaps just a little, just a very very little — he didn't want Marinette to stop thinking of him as amazing...
Felix took a deep breath, preparing to take the hit of her anger.
Maybe that sting of sad anticipation somehow showed on Felix's face, because Adrien, who was still staring at his cousin while listening to Marinette's praises, raised his eyebrows in surprise and finally turned his face towards the girl.
"He really is." Adrien agreed. "Even though he might not always show it." He said, without looking at Felix anymore. "I'm glad that you got along."
And Adrien sat at his desk after giving Marinette a supportive smile.
That's it? He won't tell her?
Felix felt as if an invisible wave lifted him into the air and he soared in weightlessness.
He read somewhere that the trick to flipping a coin is not at all in just picking one of two options. A person always knows the right answer and makes their choice instantly inside better than any coin.
The trick with a coin though is to use this coin to realize exactly what choice your subconscious has made for you.
When the coin falls on one side and the person feels disappointed seeing it — then it is safe to make the opposite choice to the one shown by the coin.
When the coin falls on the other side and the person feels joy and inspiration. This means that internally they made the same choice, which means they are correct and need to follow their choice..

When Adrien sat down in his seat without revealing his real name to the girl, Felix felt as if his coin had landed on the right side.
His phone buzzed.
Adrien: i don't know what game u r playing
Adrien: and i'm glad to see Marinette so excited
Adrien: but don't u dare hurting her!
Adrien: what ever ur motives r
Adrien: she must not be harmed in the process
Coz: if u r worried for ur friend why didn't u tell her it's me?
Coz: why r u covering me?
Adrien: i don't remember when was the last time i saw her shining so happily
Adrien: Marinette was kind of depressed lately
Adrien: so i do it for her
Adrien: mostly
Adrien: Marinette deserves the best
Adrien: and to be honest i have another motive
Coz: which is?
Adrien: if there is someone capable to penetrate that concrete wall that u built around urself after ur father died, then it's Marinette
Adrien: there is so much warmth in her that it can melt even ur frozen heart
Felix sighed.
It wasn't like he agreed with what Adrien was saying. But arguing with his cousin would be a waste of time.
And what point would he prove anyway?
Felix couldn't understand himself yet what was so special in the long conversation they had last night and why was he looking at this girl so differently today.
*
Coz: I missed your voice
Coz: I missed your touch
Coz: I missed you all my day so much!
Coz: I waited for the night to come
Coz: To stay with you until the dawn
Coz: So I could see your eyes again
Coz: And feel you driving me insane
Coz: To let your voice caress my ears,
Coz: Afraid that you will disappear
Coz: And leave my life forever
Coz: I pray: don't leave me ever
Felix was staring at his phone rereading the lines. Of course he should have written them down instead of sending them to Marinette.
But his hands made this choice for him.
Inspiration came to Felix suddenly and he just wrote down the lines, as if someone were dictating them in his head, as it had happened to him before. And he was so stunned that this girl revived so many forgotten emotions in him in just one night...
And the poems that Felix used to write usually seemed to expand his emotions, accelerating them and often anticipating them coming.

Of Gods and Dungeons
March 16, 2021 - Hiatus note: I will come back to this story! I'm really struggling with it, though. It's been a number of years and I kind of forgot what the original outline was. I still remember the main path, but not any of the details, because I stupidly didn't write an outline. Progress is being made. I'd like a very decent sized buffer before I start posting again. Don't want to get hopes up only to immediately disappoint! ----- Amy Barnes, an aspiring chemical researcher, finds herself dying from cancer. One of her most desperate prayers is answered in a way that she'd never dreamed possible, and she finds herself living a new life as a dungeon. Warning: Violence, morbidity Cover: Taken from here, courtesy of www.pexels.com by photographer @tookapic. Author's Note: I've read some dungeon core stories on here, and they've tickled my fancy. I've thought up a whole story, start to finish, and thought it'd be a blast to put it into words. Other than the violent and morbid aspects, this story is suitable for children. Aside from the vocabulary, that is. I will avoid the temptation to have any cursing, sexuality, or gore. Excessive gore, I suppose - it is a dungeon story, after all. I’ll do a little research from time to time, but this story will not have a great deal of rigor. I’ve made Amy’s knowledge comparable to my own for that reason. There’s a few things she knows more about than I do, and a few things that she knows less about. Unlike me, she doesn’t have access to Google - it’s a non issue for her to be more knowledgeable than me, on occasion :P This story does not use the same magic system that I’ve used in either Sorcery in Boston or A Summoner’s Confession. This one is mostly intention based, and designed to be easier access for people who are more used to the idea of, “It’s magic, therefore it works” kind of thinking. Do note that Amy is, in most senses of the term, overpowered. This goes along with the usual dungeon core stories. She’s not more powerful than other dungeons per se, but she does have knowledge and intelligence that puts them to shame. I thought about doing this in a LitRPG style, but systems take balance, and I wanted this to be pure fun to write. This story was inspired from a few sources. Despite the title, it wasn’t really inspired by Of Mice and Men, though some of the themes match. Rather, I’ve taken inspiration from a few dungeon core novels on Royal Road Legends for the main idea. Many conventions of dungeon core stories have been perverted from the genre, however. I’ve taken my usual science-loving self to town to play around with the powers, and I can only hope you have half as much fun reading this as I have had writing it.

Cornerstone (rough draft)
When a call goes out into the universe,a young man, down on his luck, decides to answer. Ripped from his old life and even his body, Jack Hearth must now decide what needs to be done to protect those he has claimed as his own. Not all is as it seems though. Those in power do not approve of his quest and will seek to bring ruin to his efforts. This is my very first work, so I ask for understanding should I make a mistake. This story is not on of those stories where the MC gains power and immediately decides to use it for violence. While those types of stories are fun, this isn't one of those. I will average betweern 1k-2k words per chapter for the foreseeable future. Please leave a comment below to let me know how I am doing. Lore chapters have been removed Chapter release schedule -friday evening -sunday evening For the copies of my new draft check out my patreon https://www.patreon.com/user?u=46645070

A Loner's Calling
Additional Tags: Weak to OP, Ruthless Male Lead Ren, a high school student, was summoned along with his classmates to another world. Their job was to unite the 10 continents warring with each other. Unlike wars among countries, wars across continents were in a whole other league. Death was always nearby, creeping near to take away your life. Luckily, they were given abilities by the God in order to cope with their lack of experience, as well as a one month protection inside the heavenly dome for training, preventing their death. But Ren however, was given something else entirely. “[Loner] title activated, declining invitation to heavenly dome. Remaining in current world…” _____________________________________________________________________ A/N: Ok, so for those wondering about my other fiction, it's still alive. I plan on continuing it, and I plan on posting the next chapter for it about on or after Christmas. The reason for it was because all of my plans, layout, even outline, as well as some chapters I was suppose to release were deleted thanks to a mishap by my classmate. That really triggered me so I got unmotivated, but I plan on continuing it so don't worry. Also, I plan on writing this new series, much more because there is no more classes (CHRISTMAS BREAK HERE I COME!!!), sadly, I still have to take a removal exam because I failed one of my subjects (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!) Well anyway, that's enough for me, enjoy!
