Jonathan Sneidermann is just an average guy living an average life when he gets abducted by a questionably legal company to serve as hardware for VR games.

He wakes up as a merman character in an underwater steampunk ocean, and he has a target on his back. Its not enough for him to be simply stuck in the game, but the game seems to actively have it out for him, as every nearby player seems to want a piece of him. A chance encounter with a girl who's got the inside scoop of the company might just be his only hope for peace in his afterlife...
