"You ready Zelda?"
"..."
Tetra cleared her throat. Zelda looked over at her a bit annoyed.
"You realize that this is all your fault right?"
"Of course I do!" Tetra said taking all the blame, "I wanted this to happen. I'm the one who suggested it."
"It didn't mean you had to suggest it."
"Sure it did."
"This isn't funny Tetra," Zelda said seriously from the road, "what happens between me and Link is for me to decide."
"Great plan! How about you see what happens when he comes over for Thanksgiving?"
"Tetra!"
"What?"
Zelda sighed heavily. Was she trying to be oblivious about what she was doing? Zelda knew it was because Tetra knew she liked Link...her and Aryll had shared the news that they were trying to set Link and her together.
How good of a job could two twelve year olds do? Maybe if somehow Link came to their house for Thanksgiving it would be easier to take their small relationship father.
As if that would happen! Zelda's face was burning up just thinking about it. Still the chances seemed low; why would he be interested in her?
She was a girl who struggled in college and had to take a break. She was a girl who only wanted to read cheesy romance stories and sleep under the stars. She was a girl who dreamed crazily about the slim chances she had amazing people like Link.
I'm such a lazy person. She nearly said it aloud. She looked over at Tetra. Even if she had, Tetra would probably agree with her.
This is a crazy long shot...Zelda thought.
They had pulled up to Link's house at nearly the same time as always. For the first time ever, Zelda didn't want to go in and see Link. Apparetly it was her job today to ask him if he and Aryll could come to their house for Thanksgiving.

Tetra clapped Zelda on the shoulder, "it's all you sis!"
"Tetra...I don't know..."
"If you can't do it...then I will!"
Zelda rolled her eyes and acted as though Tetra was making assumptions, "what do you mean 'if I can't do it?'"
"Well...knowing how shy you are, you may not be physically capable of asking Link to come over to your house-"
"Oh stop it I am capable," Zelda shot back, even though she was seriously doubting it.
Tetra shrugged and hopped out of the car, "then you should have no problem."
The car door shutting was like a slap in the face.
As they walked up to the door Tetra said, "don't stutter."
"What do you mean 'don't stutter?' Why would I stutter?"
"Because you like him."
"Tetra!"
Link couldn't have opened the door at a worse time. Zelda shrunk as she looked at the ground, being in the presence of Link after having scolded her sister wasn't a moment to be proud of.
Link looked at Tetra, "Tetra, were you causing Zelda some grief?"
Tetra strutted past Link and patted him on the shoulder as she passed, "of course I am! That's what sisters are for!"
Zelda walked in silently after her sister still staring at the floor and with a red face.
"Hey."
She looked up into Link's face.
He shrugged and looked down the hall where Tetra had gone, "don't worry about it. I have to yell at Aryll sometimes too; you're not a bad person for doing that."
Oh Link...Zelda smiled up at him, "they're just too young to think clearly."
Link smiled back, "of course they aren't. Do you want some dinner?"
"Huh?" Zelda asked putting her hand to her mouth. Was Link asking her out? "I...um I..." this is so sudden!

"I'm making tortellini," Link said pointing his thumb over his shoulder, "I can put some more in if you want to eat here."
"Oh..." she tried not to sound disappointed even though she probably failed, "yeah that sounds great!"
Link said, "okay," turned around and walked back into the kitchen. Zelda sighed. What had seemed to be a dream come true was only a friendly gesture.
She plopped down on their couch and started reading The Wooden Chair.
Still...it's dinner with Link...
Even if they weren't alone they would be eating dinner together. That meant something right?
Aryll and Tetra creeped around the corner to approach Zelda on the couch.
Zelda internally groaned, great...they're probably a big nuisance when they eat together. I feel sorry for Link...having to deal with them. How long as he been providing dinner for Tetra?
When they arrived at the couch they didn't utter a word. They simply kneeled by the couch and stared up at Zelda with puppy dog eyes.
Zelda did her best to ignore them. Even though that's what she wanted to do, it was very hard to ignore two cute girls staring ho at her.
"What?" She hissed even though she knew what they were going to say.
Tetra spoke, "well? Are you going to ask him?"
"Fine!" Zelda said putting her bookmark in between the pages and standing up. Glaring at the girls she did her best not to look mad as she walked down the hallway and into the kitchen.
When she saw Link she realized now that she would have to try and not look nervous instead of mad. She looked back at the hallway to see if she could retreat but Aryll and Tetra were peeking around the corner, preventing any escape.
She was going to have to do this.
It's not like you're asking him out or anything Zelda, she told herself as she slowly walked towards him. She started to sweat, but it totally feels like that's what I'm doing!
"Um...Link?"
That is what she meant say. Instead what came out was something like, "...umlin?"
Link turned around from his cooking and looked at Zelda standing there.
"Did you say something?" He asked politely.
She felt Tetra run around and in front of her, "Zelda was wondering if you and Aryll could come to our house for the weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving for us!"
She hadn't toned it as a question. It was more like a polite command.
Still, Zelda felt grateful for her sister who had jumped in and helped her.
Link said nothing and just looked back at the two of them. The only sound was the sound of boiling tortellini.
Finally he spoke, as if he expected this to be some sort of prank from Tetra, "um...is she being serious Zelda?"
Zelda nodded. Blushing, but smiling. She was already hoping he wouldn't want to come because she had just realized how embarrassing it would be to have Link over with her parents.
