《the human (r.h)》thirteen; to be so lonely
Advertisement
Delilah George had never felt so alone in all of her life.
She was used to feeling as though she had no one, however in recent months that had changed completely. She had used to have an amazing bond with her sister, she used to go on days out with her family, she then started hanging out with Bella all the time, and then she thought that she might end up with a girlfriend.
But it seemed like in a matter of weeks, that had all changed. She no longer had that bond with her sister, she didn't spend any time with her family anymore, and she'd fucked up whatever relationship she had with Rosalie.
In all truth, Delilah had not felt so vulnerable in years, the last time she felt like this was just before the George's adopted her. Not that she could remember her life before Tommy and Nia, she only knew what she'd been told by them or people that knew them. Surprisingly though, she could remember exactly how she felt in that time.
She never thought she could feel as bad as she did then, but that was until now.
And in a way, Delilah knew it was all her fault. She had pushed Rosalie away, she had argued with Maya. But at least she still had Bella, even though she was quite significantly mad at her for disappearing the day prior.
However Delilah would just have to be normal with her, otherwise she really would have no one.
"Hey Swan." Delilah walked up to Bella, who for some reason hadn't given her a lift to school again today, meaning Delilah had to hitch a lift with some cheerleader she used to be friends with. "I missed you yesterday."
The brunette tensed under her best friends arm, she knew that she'd had to see Delilah today but didn't exactly want to. She just knew her news wouldn't go down so well. "Aw, I missed you too."
In the short time that she'd know Bella, Delilah had developed a knack for knowing when something was wrong with her, "What's up buttercup?" Delilah moved her head around so she was leaning down and could stare straight at Bella's face, "Did something happen?"

Bella knew it was so obvious that she was nervous, she could hardly look Delilah in the eyes. "N-no, nothing happened."
The smile dropped straight from Delilah's lips, an eyebrow raising at Bella's words, "Why are you lying to me?"
"I-I'm not."
"Yes you are." For some reason, Delilah felt a little pang in her chest, she knew Bella was lying to her and she wasn't sure why. "Was it something I did?"
"No, nothings wrong Delilah."
From the other side of the car park, all six pairs of golden eyes were watching the exchange of the two, which wasn't unusual, they normally paid attention to everything that Bella and Delilah did. However, they were now paying more attention because they had a feeling the conversation wouldn't go very well. They knew what Delilah was like and there was no way she would let this slide.
"I can tell something is Bell, I-I don't know what's wrong. Everyone's turned against m-"
Just as Delilah was going to open up to her friend, she was interrupted by one of the last people she was to see.
"-Bella." Delilah's blue eyes shot from the face of Bella to Edward Cullen, it was fair to say she was curious about his appearance, "Are you ready to go?"
As soon as the words had fallen from Edward's lips, Delilah's arm fell from Bella's body as the girl moved away from her friend and towards Edward, "Yeah." She muttered, a part of her wishing Edward had just stayed away, but the boy interrupted so that Delilah wouldn't kick off. Unknowingly he had just stopped Delilah from getting some support she needed.
"Bell?" The brunette watched as her friend turned herself back to look at Delilah, her eyes trying to betray how sorry she was. "Where are you going?"
"With Edward." Surprisingly her voice was so strong, she couldn't let Delilah intimidate her.
Delilah was now feeling ten times worse, she had wanted to talk to Bella, she wasn't going to argue or shout. She just needed to tell someone how she was feeling, because she needed someone to tell her she wasn't alone. But here her best friend was, leaving her so lonely.

"Seriously, you're going to leave me for him? After how he's treated you, you're going to leave your best friend who was-"
"-Bella treats people a lot better than you treat them." The worst thing for Edward Cullen to do was get involved, but he just couldn't help himself.
Delilah George was about to do exactly what the Cullen family expected of her, and that was explode.
"What the fuck," The girl started laughing, although there was no amusement behind it, "I never once said anything about how Bella treats people, I said how you treated her. Which was like shit, because that's what you are Edward Cullen. You're a good for nothing piece of shit."
A smirk danced on the boys lips as he read through Delilah's mind, he knew exactly how to wind her up, "You aren't much better are you? At least I can admit that I can be a shit sometimes, but you? You can never admit that your a bitch. But everyone else knows it, it's why you hang onto Bella with dear life isn't it? Because everyone else knows how horrible you are, which is why you have no one-"
The human couldn't stand to hear it anymore, she didn't care what else Edward had to say, she needed to get away from him and Bella- she could hardly believe the girl hadn't said anything in her defence.
The Cullens watched Delilah leave, most of them feeling quite sorry for the girl. Especially Rosalie Hale, but she refused to go and comfort the girl, she was too stubborn after yesterday.
So Delilah went off to the girls toilets by herself again, feeling impossibly alone. She hadn't thought she could feel any worse than when she woke up, however she was clearly wrong.
Fortunately for Delilah someone else had heard all of the exchange, in fact a few people had, but only one felt brave enough to follow the brunette.
Once Delilah heard the toilet doors open she couldn't help but sigh, she'd forgotten to lock it behind her like she usually did. Which meant she now had to keep her sobs quiet until the person left.
However, the person wasn't going to leave until she knew Delilah was okay.
"Hello?" Angela received no answer, "Delilah, are you okay?" The girl still didn't reply, she didn't want anyone to see her crying. "I know you're in the stall, I can see your stilettos."
After a few seconds, Delilah knew that she wasn't going to shake Angela. So she unlocked her stall door, only to be engulfed in a hug by a girl she hardly knew anymore. "Hi Angie."
While the two spoke in science, Delilah had stopped fishing for information on Angela, meaning they only now had meaningless conversations. Nothing that bonded them.
"I hope you don't mind Lilah, I just heard what Edward said and-"
"No no," Delilah tightened her arms around the girl she used to be close with growing up, "Thank you so much, I-I really needed someone to do this." Just as the words left her lips, the sobs started again, she wasn't sure if it was because she was upset over Bella and Rosalie, or because of the relief of someone caring.
"Oh Lilah." Angela could hardly believe she had Delilah George crying in her arms, the two had been friends since the start of high school, they'd become teenagers together and had been best friends before Delilah joined the cheerleading team. So now Angela could hardly believe the girl who she'd never seen cry before, had now broke down in her arms. "It's okay sweetie, it's gonna be okay."
The two stood like that for a while, Delilah sobbing in the girls arms as Angela whispered reassuring words to her.
She needed Delilah to know she would be okay, because Angela was going to make sure she would be.
my last chapter had like no comments in which makes me :( but i guess it's okay as long as everyone's still reading and enjoying it <3
