《He Saved Me》Chapter thirty three

I sigh, turning to face Patdįck.
"What do you want Patrick?" I mumble, hugging my book to my chest. "What's with all the rumors huh? Something to try and makeup for the fact that you are a sucky person with a terrible personality? That's disgusting, really" He spits out.
"I really don't have time for this" I say, going to walk away from him. He reaches out, his hand pressing against my side. "You're not going anywhere". "Fück" I curse at the sudden pain.
"This isn't funny and it most definitely doesn't make you cool" I say, my hand on my side, trying to ease the pain. Its almost healed but that doesn't mean it can't still hurt. "Oh yeah? Well I find it really fücking funny" He says turning my head, roughly. "What happened there huh?" He looks at the fading bruise. The makeup must have rubbed off. I pull my arm out of his grip, dropping my book in attempt to get someones attention.
"It's non of your business" I say, venom lacing my voice. "No, tell me. I'm curious if the rumors are true" He says. His cold eyes staring at my teary eyes. "Just-" I stutter out. "Just what? Huh?" He provokes. "Just fück off Patrick" I say, stunned at what came out of my mouth. "Oh you little bįt-" He starts.
"Hey, what are you doing man?" The guy in the baseball hat, from earlier says. "Just talking to my friend. Go away Aiden" Patrick says, staring at me. I look at Aiden, pleading for help with my eyes.
He nods, signaling he understands. "No, Mason actually was looking for Leah so I need to steal her" He says standing next to me now. His arms crossed.
Aiden is pretty tall. He practically towers over me. "Whatever, give me a minute. I wanna finish up" Patrick smirks. "Not a chance in hęll. Do you have your stuff Leah?" He says, looking at me. I nod, afraid to use my voice. "Come on" He says , his hand on my back.
"Are you okay?" He whispers as we round the corner. "Yeah, um. Thank you" I smile a little. "Yeah, I heard the book and got curious. Do you want Mason to know about what happened?" He said, stopping by some lockers. "He probably should. But I'll tell him" I say and he nods. "Okay, lets go to my class then. You can pull him out quickly" Aiden says and I nod.
When we get to the class the door is open. "Mr. Thomas. Who's your guest?" The teacher says as he walks in, motioning for me to follow. All eyes are turned to me and when Mason and I make eye contact confusion spreads across his face.
Aiden looks at Mason and points at me, causing worry to spread across his face. "Mrs. D, I'm sorry. I really need to be excused for a minute" Mason says rushing over to me.
"What happened? Are you okay?" He asks, looking me up and down. "I'm fine. Really, I ran into Patrick in the hall and he was tormenting me and I guess you can say harassing me too. I just got scared and hurt and then I dropped the book hoping to catch someones attention and I guess Aiden heard and so he helped me get out of it. Please, don't do anything Mason. I'm fine, just a little shaken up" I say, rambling while a couple tears falling down my face.
"Shįt Leah, why can't I do something? This little fücker thinks its okay to treat people like this and its not. He was harassing you? Don't tell me he put his fücking hands on you or so help me God" Mason says, grinding his teeth, his hands balled up into fists.

"I don't want anyone to get hurt. Please, I'm begging you Mason" I hiccup out, taking his hands into mine.
"Did he lay a single finger on you?" Mason stares into my eyes. The sight terrifying me.
I look away, flinching. "He's fücking dead" Mason growls, walking back into the classroom.
"Aiden" He barks out, a terrified look on Aiden's face. The whole class stares at Mason, shock all over their faces. Mason never acts like this.
"Mason, please. I-I shouldn't have told you" I say choking back the tears.
"Mason, what the fück?" Aiden spits out, seeing my crying face.
"He put a hand on her. He touched her" Mason says, causing me to flinch again.
"Mason, take a deep breath. Leah's scared. You need to calm down a little bit" Aiden says, trying to reason with Mason.
"I can't calm down" He punches his hand, taking a handful of his hair.
Flashbacks of my father blur my vision causing my breathing to get uneven. Tears stream down my face faster and the sound of the bell blares throughout the hallway.
"Woah, Leah. Hey, take some deep breaths" A voice rings. Who is that? I can't see. The persons face being masked by my tears.
"Here, take her outside, I'll tell the office that you guys are allowed. Medical reasons" The voice says as arms lift me up. I see a male's blurry face, but its not Masons.
Soon, the warm California sun is shining on my face, the fresh air making it easier to breathe.
"Put her here" I hear Ellie say. I am placed up against a wall, blinking away my tears Ellie's figure appears in front of me.
"Wheres-Wheres Mason?" I breathe out, wanting to make sure he's okay. "He's okay, Aiden and Tim and calming him down out back. I need you to breath" Ellie says, staring into my eyes.
I nod, leaning my head back, letting the air fill my lungs. Once I catch my breath and stop the tears, Christine helps me stand up. I walk over to where a nervous Brooks looks to be talking to an even more nervous Ellie. "Elle, I'm fine" I say.
"I know, I'm just worried" She sighs, hugging me. "Do you need anything? Anything to make you feel better?" Brooks asks. "Um, an ice coffee would be nice. Thank you" I say. Brooks nods, kissing Ellie goodbye and jogging to the car.
"Can I see Mason?" I ask causing Christine to nod. "Yeah, Aiden calmed him down. He's on the turf. Do you want us to come?" She says. "If you guys want" I smile softly.
We walk over to the turf to see Aiden and Tim throwing the football to Mason. When they see us they tell Mason and walk over to us. Mason stays where he's standing, looking nervous. "He feels really bad. You should probably go talk to him" Tim says causing me to nod.
"Hey, how are you doing?" I say as I approach him. "Leah, I am so sorry. I'm an idiot. I shouldn't have acted like that. I should have made sure you were alright before I got all mad like that. I don't know what got into me. It just made my blood boil and I feel absolutely horrible. I-I made you have an anxiety attack" He rambles, looking at me with tears in his eyes at the end.
"Shhh, Mason its okay. Just please don't act like that again. It made me think of my father. I don't want anyone to get hurt" I say pulling him into a hug.

"I know, I just don't want anything to happen to you" He sobs out, shaking.
I've never seen Mason act like this before. Its scary.
"Here, sit" I say pulling him to sit down. Rocking him back and forth, I ignore the pain in my side. Thats not a problem right now.
"I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something else happened to you Leah" He sighs after a couple minutes.
"I'm safe now Mason. If Patrick is the worst I have now then I will consider myself lucky. I'm fine, look at me" I say motioning to myself. "Just a little bruised up with some stitches but thats another story" I chuckle, brushing his hair out of his eyes.
"I know" He sighs, closing his eyes tightly. I pick up my phone, seeing that class is going to end in a couple minutes.
"Come on, our friends are waiting for us" I say standing up, my arm extended. He grabs my hand, intertwining them.
I walk back over to where everyone is, including Scarlet.
"Are you two okay now?" Brooks asks handing me a iced Dunkin' coffee.
I take a long sip, admiring the flavor and feeling myself calm already. "Yes, we are great" Mason says as I lean into him.
"Okay, great" Christine smiles. "Do you guys want to come over my place? I'll wait for Daniella. Mas, you know where my house is" Tim says and we nod, heading to our cars.
We fit into our car, Aiden and Christine in their cars behind us.
Soon enough we are at a normal sized house. The driveway is empty, I guess no ones home.
Mason turns the car off and quickly gets out, opening the door for me. "Thanks Mas" I smile, getting out.
He lifts the front door mat up, unlocking the front door. "Perfect. After you guys" Mason smiles, letting us in.
We all take our shoes off at the door and sit on the couch. Mason takes a seat next to Brooks, towards the end of the couch. "I'm exhausted" I yawn, leaning my head on Masons lap.
"I would be too. Take a nap. We won't be here long" Mason smiles, kissing my forehead.
"Its okay" I yawn, turning my attention to the tv.
Soon, the door opens and Tim and Daniella come in holding hands. "Hey Le, are you okay? I heard about what happened" Daniella says smiling.
"Yeah, I'm fine now. Thank you" I say, nodding.
"Oh good, come here. I want to give you a hug" She smiles, holding her arms out. I get up, hugging her back.
"I'm going to make some food. Do you guys want anything?" She asks. A chorus of yes's are heard. "How about we just order some pizza?" I suggest causing everyone to nod.
A couple of pizza pies and laughs later and we are all stuffed. "Now I really could go to sleep" I laugh leaning back. "Yeah, we'll probably head out soon" Mason says to Tim.
"Okay, yeah thats fine. You both need some rest" Aiden looks at Tim expectedly. Whats going on with them?
"Yeah, you guys want to come with or be picked up later?" Mason says to Brooks and Ellie. "We'll come now. Thanks for the pizza and everything" Ellie smiles, giving everyone hugs.
I follow along, giving everyone hugs and thanking Tim for inviting us over.
When I get to Aiden I stop. "Thank you, I really mean it" I say hugging him. "Of course Leah" He smiles, hugging me back. "I'm onto you" I whisper to both him and Tim causing them to laugh a nervous laugh. "Bye guys" I smile, walking out with my best friends.
"I cant wait to get my homework done and go to sleep" I sigh, sliding into the back seat.
The drive home was a little faster than it should have been but thats the way Brooks drives. The music was blasting to keep Mason and I awake. Today just drained us both.
Sluggishly I make my way into the house, being greeted by my adorable puppy. Mason takes my bag off my shoulder, running it up to his room.
"Hey Bella" I say, laying on the floor, letting her attack me with kisses. "Leah? Are you okay?" Tara walks into the room seeing me laying on the floor with Bella in my arms.
"Yeah, its just been a long day and I'm happy to have my Belle here" I smile, sitting up. "Okay, can I get you something?" She asks. "No thank you, I'm good" I smile, kissing her cheek and heading upstairs.
"Now time to do this homework" I say sitting on Masons floor, grabbing my books from my bag. "Are you talking to yourself now?" Mason chuckles from his bed.
"Oh shush up" I smile, opening my English book.
"Why are you on the floor?" Mason whines as I lean against his bed, propping my book on my legs so my side doesn't hurt from bending over.
"Its the most comfortable position" I answer, writing the answer to a problem down.
A couple seconds later Mason is sitting next to me. I smile at him writing some more answers down.
"If you weren't in so many smart classes I could have given you the answers" He smirks causing me to laugh.
"Sorry Mas" I say, leaning my head on his shoulder. "Are you almost done with your homework?" I question, looking at his paper.
"Yeah, I'm actually done. Now" He says scribbling an equation down.
"Thats good. I think I'm almost done with this now. Its all I got since I skipped Science today" I sigh at the thought of having to go back tomorrow.
"I'm really sorry about that" Mason says, playing with my hair. "Its okay" I say, lifting my head off his shoulder.
"How much do you have left?" He asks. "Like 5 more questions" I say scanning the page. "Do you want to help me with something?" He asks, standing up.
"That depends, what is it?" I ask, walking over to my bag. I never found my chapstick.
"I have to go to hockey but-" He says causing my eyes to widen. "Can I come?" I interrupt him.
"Um, yeah. If you want. Why do you want to come?" He says confused. "I want to get out and actually do something" I whine.
"Okay, yeah. You can come" He smiles, hugging me. He gently rests his chin on top of my head. I take in his scent. The smell of his aftershave making every inch of me more relaxed.
"What did you want to ask?" I question, when he pulls away. "Forget it, get your homework done. I'm not sure what time we will get home" He smiles causing me to nod.
I quickly finish English while Mason works out a little. "You're not playing today right?" I say as he picks up his bag. "I might go out there. Depends on if coach is there or not" He smirks.
"Mason" I scold. "They're almost all healed Le" He whines. The one on his forehead is thankfully all healed. It wasn't terribly deep so he got those stitches taken out a couple days ago.
"Let me see" I instruct, causing mason to lift up the back of his shirt. They aren't bad, definitely healing nicely and faster than mine. I gently run my fingers over some of the gashes, checking for winces. Non. "Mason, I really don't know if its a good idea" I say nervously.
"Le, I'll be fine. They look good right?" The doctor said that I can go back to hockey on Saturday after I get them removed tomorrow.
"Fine. What time is the appointment?" I ask, putting my sneaker on. "12:00 for me, 4:00 for you" Mason answers, tying it for me.
I leave a quick kiss on his cheek, answering him. "Can I come?" I put my rings and bracelet back on. "Nope, you need to stay in school" He smiles sadly. "Moms orders" He holds his hands up. "Okay" I say, grabbing my phone.
"Don't worry Le, I have eyes all over the school. You're taken care of" He throws his arm over my shoulder, grabbing his jacket.
We walk downstairs, saying bye to everyone and heading to the rink. "Pinky promise you won't tell my mom" Mason says when we get in the car. "Under one condition" I smirk, crossing my arms. "Fine, what is it?" He looks at me, expectantly. "I want a coffee" I shrug.
"Easy" He says, starting the car and speeding off. "Mason you ãsshole, you know how I feel about cars" I squeal, almost flying out of my seat.
After we got Dunkin' we quickly finish our way to the rink. I walk in to see all the boys on the ice and coach off to the side. Theres a couple of the guys girlfriends in the bleachers, including Daniella. "Hey" I smile walking over to her.
"Oh my gosh, Leah. I didn't expect to see you here" She smiles hugging me. "Yeah, I wanted to get out so I insisted" I smile as she hugs Mason. "I didn't know you were going to be here. I would have gotten you something" Mason says as he takes he jacket off.
Gently placing it on my shoulders, he kisses me on the cheek and runs off to the locker room.
"Oh no, don't be silly. But here, I want your number Le" She says handing her phone to me. I quickly put it in, getting engrossed in a conversation as Mason quickly gets dressed.
He skates onto the ice, catching coaches attention. "White, you're cleared?" He says, causing Masons head to snap towards him. "Um-tomorrow I am getting the rest of my stitches removed and then I'm cleared for the game on Saturday. Can I at least shoot today?" He pleas.
"Fine, but take it easy. We cant have you out any longer" The coach sighs, causing Mason to smile, sending a wink my way. He quickly skates off to the rest of the team causing me to smile.
"Imagine being able to skate" I shake my head, laughing. "Its a wonderful feeling" Daniella smiles. "You skate?" I question, realizing I know nothing about this girl.
"Yeah, I'm a figure skater" She blushes. "Wow, am I really that stupid?" I laugh. Of course she is. She has the perfect figure for it.
"Not a lot of people know. You should come skating with me some time. It can be like a double date" She smiles causing my eyes to widen. "Oh, no. I'm absolutely terrible. Do you know how embarrassed I would be?" I say, shaking my head.
"Its okay, the three of us can help" She says, nonchalantly, causing me to shake my head even more. "Not any better considering the fact that all three of you ice skate" I laugh.
"Oh shush. When's everything going to be healed?" She smiles, looking at my boot. "Hopefully soon. I can't deal with this much longer" I sigh, picking my arm up.
Daniella and I make quiet, conversation as the boys practice. Mason looks hot while he ice skates.
"Hey girls" Tim walks over to us, his helmet in his arm. "Hey" Dani kisses him quickly. I quickly look around for Mason, seeing he's talking with the coach.
"I'll be back" Tim says hugging us, making his way to the locker room. "Do you always go with him to his practices?" I question, curious of the answer. "Most of the time, yeah" She nods.
"Thats cute" I smile, hugging Masons jacket closer to me.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Mason asks, placing his arm around my waist, careful not to touch my bruised area.
"I'm good. Just a little tired. But good" I smile, kissing him on the cheek. "Okay, good. I'm going to get changed. I'll shower at home" He smirks, giving Daniella the wrong idea.
"Ohh, you guys do that already?" She smirks causing my face to flush a deep shade of red. "He fücking wishes. No we don't do that. He's just being an äss" I laugh causing her to look at me, doubtingly. "Oh come on" I roll my eyes causing her to laugh. "Whatever you say Le" She smile, interlocking our arms.
"So, you've probably heard the rumors?" I say, sensing her curiosity. "Yeah, I hope you don't mind, but Tim told me. I-I just didn't know what to believe" She says. "Oh no, It's no problem. The rumors are just what gets to me" I shrug.
"Yeah, some of them are horrible. For pity? I wonder who made that one" She scoffs causing me to frown.
"Don't remind me" I mumble, not wanting to think about Patrick right now.
Mason, Tim and Aiden come strolling out of the locker room looking like they just ran a marathon.
"Hey Leah, Daniella. How are you two?" Aiden smiles, throwing a baseball hat over his head. "We're good" Dani smiles, locking eye contact with Tim. They are so cute together.
"Alright, we are heading home. See you guys" Mason flings his arm over my shoulder, running his free hand through his wet hair.
"Alright, can't wait to have you back bro" Aiden smiles as we walk out.
Mason huffs, throwing his equipment in the trunk of his car. "I can't wait to go to sleep tonight" I sigh, leaning my head back.
"Same, I'm exhausted. But that felt amazing. I missed it" He smiles to himself. "Aw" I coo, not being able to contain myself.
"What?" He says, starting the car. "That was so cute" I smile, poking his cheek. "Oh shut up" He mumbles, face the color of a tomato.
We quickly arrive home and Mason showers right away. I finish up some homework I still had and jumped in the shower right after him.
After I got out, I walked into a pitch black room. Masons quiet snores being heard, causing me to chuckle. I quickly check my phone, answering Graces text.
Turning on my alarm, I quietly get into the bed.
As soon as my head hits the pillow I'm out.
