《The Girl's Secret. Earl Grey x reader》The Queen!

After about five minutes, the earl pushed you away. You were a little sad, but it made sense. You had things to do. A queen to meet. You still didn't have clothes though.
Much to your relief, the earl was digging through his wardrobe. "Ah! Here it is!" As if he couldn't sense your dissapointment, he threw some clothes at you. They landed on your face, and you struggled to get them off. It didn't help that he was laughing. Again. "Here." He walked over and got them off for you.
"Thanks." You were probably pretty red by then. Still, you observed the clothes. They seemed a bit too small for the earl, but they would probably fit you decently. "Are these yours?"
"They're old. Do you mind?"
"Not really." You waited until he turned around to change. By habit, you faced the other way as well, though he was already dressed.
You easily removed your shirt and shorts. Putting on the pants from his outfit was simple, and they fit well. The shirt went quickly too. You just didn't like how, since it was his, it seemed to put more stress on your 'feminine aspects' than any other outfit you'd worn. You then tried to brush your hair, again. It still didn't work, and you pulled on it too hard at one point.
"Ow!"
"What are you doing?" He said, exasperated.
"I'm trying-" you undid another knot, creating many tiny ones, "To brush out-" You helped again as you pulled to hard, "My-" you almost had one, "Hair!" You were panting, and red in the face. The earl chuckled, and you whipped around. "You try and brush this! It's impossible!" You were about to go back to brushing it, when he moved your hand.

"I think it'd be rather easy actaully." You froze, surprised. He's actaully going to try?
You felt him run his fingers through your hair, over and over. It wasn't even fifteen minutes before he said it was done.
"That's impossible! Even with a hairbrush I can't do it that quick!" You ran your own fingers through it, and found it was smooth. "How the hell?" You whispered.
"I'm magical~!" He chuckled then grabbed your hand. You didn't resist as he dragged you through the halls to... the kitchen?
"What about the queen?" You asked.
"Food first." He said plainly. Then proceeded to grab a loaf of bread and jam. "Can you make some tea?"
"Sure." You bustled about, grabbing the tea, and cups, and kettle. You boiled the water quickly, as you knew a trick. Then added the tea. He was still eating, and you grabbed a single piece of bread. Your appetite smaller than usual. After a minute you deemed the tea done, and poured some into cups.
"Thanks~!" He smiled huge and drank it.
"You're quite a bit happier once you get some food huh?"
"Yep! Nothing fixes a bad mood like food!" How does he not get fat? No. More importantly, I need to learn how to cook.
"Well, I'm done! You?"
"Huh?" You were snapped from your thoughts too quickly, it took a minute to register what he said. "Oh... yeah." He gave you a little look, but you shrugged it off.
"Now, we go see the queen."
~~ haven't seen one of these in a while, huh? ~~
The earl knocked when you got there, and you desperately wished for your cloak, and its comforting hood. You let your H/C locks fall before your face, and followed the earl in. You're scared? Come on! Face it like the assassin you are! Look up! Look her in the eye! Scare her! Thats what your family was for!!

You found youself wishing you had a different family. You didn't want to kill the queen. You didn't want to kill any of them! You wanted a clean slate. A fresh start. You wanted to shrug your family name off.
Until you saw the knives. Yes, plural. They were both there, and you realized that you would finally get to learn double knife fighting. You looked up, E/C eyes filled with a hunger that could only be satisfied by getting those knives.
The queen laughed. The earl stayed a bit behind you, as you advanced slightly. You were nervous. You were scared half to death. But those knives kept you going. They gave you courage, as they always did. Though you were not going to strike the queen, you wanted the knives. You wanted to hold them. To feel their smooth blades in your hand. You wanted to do the transformation that turned them into a beautiful double ended blade, your hand in the middle. You calmed yourself, and rippednyour eyes away, focusing on the queen.
She laughed again. "You want them back, no doubt?"
You were taken aback, how did she know? Were you that obvious? Probably. But you could have sworn you kept your eyes hidden.
"Yes." Your voice was calm, and it surprised you. You thought you would stutter.
"Go ahead. Take them. I trust you. I can tell he does too." She gestured to the earl, you looked back. He nodded, obviously used to the queens telepathy.
You took a tentative step forward. She nodded, and gestured to them. You were completely unsure, but took a breath, and walked forward. Snatching the knives up, instinctively in both hands. You held the left how most would consider backwards. But you knew the basics, that was necessary for a right hand dominant person. It allowed steadier protection of your center.
She chuckled a bit. "No need to be so suspicious. I won't hurt you. I merely wanted to know a few things about you, and your family. As long as you don't attack me, you're fine." And with that, she gestured for your sit down. For once, you felt like she was telling the truth. Your entire life, you believed what your parents had told you. That the queen was a lying, cheating, sinister, and murderous person. You began to doubt those things.
You sat down.

War of Seasons
Dorothea Atlin is the young, apathetic leader of the neutral territory of Sirpo, a chilly land hovering above the continuously warring factions of Sacer and Ghuria, whose devastating magics have ravaged their people and lands time and time again. Following a shocking attack and a cruel deception, Dorothea grows her conscience and takes up arms, using her self-destructive ability to manipulate the flow of time to ensure Sacer’s victory. Her growing understanding of war and the two factions is guided by Iree Nobelis, the determined and enthralling commander of Sacer’s forces, Ariana Kingfisher, a steely swordswoman of mixed Ghurian and Sacerian descent, and Rhys Tamlin, a kind but haunted soldier who goes to challenge Dorothea’s self-imposed celibacy and join her on a mutual journey of healing from the tragic legacies of the Atlin family and wars between the nations. Meanwhile, Dorothea’s only friend and deserter from the Sacerian military, Shark Olyen, returns to their homeland to face the family that disowned them and finds more than they bargained for in meeting Cerid Creed, a noble whose duty to his people clashes with his desires in romance and in life, much like Shark’s did long before. As their developing or preexisting loves and differing convictions on how to achieve peace create rifts between these major players, Dorothea experiences a personal revolution that leads her to fight for what she believes is right, no matter the cost. A slow-burn story that takes time setting up the psychology and motivations of characters for explosive payoff later down the line. Cover by Ben Arisson, who is also a wonderful author on this website!
