Brooke’s POV:

Soon I hear him open up the door to the attic. I squished myself further into the little corner of the attic, try not to make a sound. I see him stammering around the room. As I see his head begin to turn my direction, I look down- avoiding all eye contact. Before I know it I am being pulled by my shirt out of the corner. As he gets to a clear spot in the attic it happens again. The daily sexual abuse of my body by my own father. He forces me to never tell anyone. And I obey him, not wanting him to do anything worse to me.

He finishes and lets me go, I run down the attic stairs and into my room. I fling myself onto my fluffy mattress and cry. I look outside and see my dad driving away, where is he going? He never leaves like this! This is my chance to escape this life!
