《Hex [h.s]》Chapter Twenty-eight

I can the smell the stale cold air of morning, the ray of the sun hitting my face, and my closed eyes, making me open them.
I am greeted by a blurry scenery of the green trees that are outside the window where the sun's rays enter. It wasn't raining anymore like last night.
I feel kinda drowsy, and my eye sight is still a blur. God, are my eyes going to be like this forever? I hope not, even though I might deserve it.
I sigh and turn to my right to see an empty space of the bed. Which confuses me is that it looked like someone slept in it, I was sure I was the only one who slept in this bed.
And, I am not the kind of person who keeps on moving or changing positions while asleep.
Heat began to rise on my body, so I removed the sheets that are wrapped around me. Strange that is.
What made my eyes go wide is that, instead of seeing the clothes that I used to wear, I wore a brown old coat instead. And what's more, I am naked underneath it, except my undergarments.
A blush creep up to my cheeks, and I tried to register what happened last night. What happen last night? I can't seem to remember anything.
I looked around to find my clothes, it was hard with my blurry vision, but I did find them on a wooden chair, all folded and dry.
Oh. Now I remember, Harry was suppose to take me to a small house, maybe this is it. The house consisted of a fireplace, one huge closet, an old bathroom, and the bed.
I remember eating crow soup last night, which made me cringe in disgust. Seriously, is there a dish like that?

And where is Harry?
I looked around the room finding no one, I took my clothes and went inside the small bathroom to change.
After changing, I decided to step out of the house. I opened the front door to be greeted by the porch and an old wooden rocking chair.
Hmm, maybe the later ocuppants of this house were old, kinda weird for them to leave this house ungarded or uncared.
"You're awake."
I was startled and looked to my left, where the voice came from. There Harry stood, holding two dead crows in his hands. His head cocked to the side, green eyes looking at me.
Studying me like I was some kind of animal yet to discover.
"Y-yeah. I am." I breathed, looking down and tuck loose hair behind my ear.
"Are you fine? You had a fever." He spoke, I didn't know if he was concern or that he doesn't want a mere fever to kill me, instead he wants his bare hands to finish me off.
The thought alone made me wanna run, but my mind has another idea. I didn't know I was walking towards him until I saw his blurry face.
I couldn't make out the expression he is wearing now, but I can feel it in the air. He was surprised. The feeling is mutual.
Before I knew it, I blurted out my question.
"A-are you still going to kill me?"
I must have mistakenly heard him take a sharp breath in. His head turns away and I am now facing his back.
"I.... I can't answer that right now. Soon."
I don't know if I should be hopping with joy right now or crying in sorrow. Why can't he answer that question right now?
Isn't he death himself? Shouldn't he know when I am going to die?

"Why?"
"Because....." His voice soft, his head turning slightly at me. His green eyes showing sympathy, but suddenly his eyes went dark, back to the black ones I am already used to, and his head turn sharply.
"Because I can!" He now snaps, making me shock, and mad at the same time.
"Dammit, you don't have to snap! I get it!" I yelled, and stomp away, back inside the little house.
I grab a firewood that I saw at the corner of my eye, and I grab it. I was about to toss it in the fire that was growing small, when flashbacks play in front of me.
All I heard was sirens, the screams and cries since the fire spread from house to house.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, look at all the destruction you made sweetheart. " He chuckles, I let out shaky breath.
"And I like it." He adds, I felt something drip down my head and all I can see were bright orange and bright red and blue lights.
"Happy 4th of July Lucinda."
And my eyes fluttered close, making my whole world go dark.
I dropped the firewood, making a huge noise. I shivered a few seconds, but I just couldn't seem to stop.
"M-mom..." I croaked, my whole body now shaking. Shaking of fear, guilt, anger and mostly sadness.
"M-mom...Mom, mom, mom!" I yell. The only word I could think about now is 'mom' and I think I'm going crazy.
My surroundings became silent, except for whispering. My breathing seems to slow down and fast again.
Before I knew it, I was holding a knife, probably Harry's. I looked at it.
"Kill."
What?
"Kill...."
The whispers seem to grow louder, chanting the word 'kill'. Should I?
"Lucinda!" I heard someone yell, but it seem so far away.
Maybe I should. After all, that's my destiny. To die. I lifted the knife up in the air, ready to strike myself with it.
"Lucinda!"
Harry stood in front of me, my eye sight clear for a moment. His face was full of worry, his green eyes, which were back to itself again, tired and, scared? What's more, his hands were on my face, cupping both of my cheeks.
Behind Harry was a mirror, and in that mirror, I saw both of us. Well, three of us.
"Harry?"
Then, something made me jolt inside, the knife dropping to the floor, along with my body.
My eye sight becoming a blur again before I was engulfed by darkness that I was now familiar with.
