《Hex [h.s]》Chapter Twenty-two

"Lucinda, mind passing the cake here please?" Mom asked, and I mentally rolled my eyes as I passed the cake to her. She invited Joshua over with his daughter. Let's just say that he just happens to move in here last month, a few days before us, beacuse he had divorced his wife last year, and Mom decided to hit on him.

"Thanks Louisa , the food is great, I like your baking." He compliments, making mom giggle like a fucking school girl that recieved flowers from the boy she has been crushing on.

I rolled my eyes, and stab my stake with my fork. Mom let out a gasp, making me raise a brow at her. "Lucinda, that stake is not an animal, so don't stab it like you wanna kill it!" She scolds.

"Or it will be double-dead meat." Joshua somewhat joked, and the two of them laughed. Me giving them both a glare, while Joshua's daughter named Felicia just stayed quiet.

"Come on now Lucia!" Joshua laughs, "Don't you have sense of humor?" He asks, my blood boiling under my skin.

"It's Lucinda, and I only laugh when needed." I spoke a little too harsh, making mom narrow her eyes at me.

"Lucinda."

"Yes mother? " I ask, sounding and looking innocently at her, when I am beyond pissed. I still have to deal with Harry, and I have no time to even deal with this douche.

"Go to your room. Now." She hisses, and I stood up, picked up my plate before placing it on the sink.

"No Louisa, it's okay. I understand her." This made me turn at the man sharply. "What?" I asked, as if I haven't heard him.

"I understand you Lucia, I do." He says, no sign of dishonesty or laughter. But I laugh, well, snickered at what he just said.

"Really? Are you sure? Cause the only thing that I know is that you don't." I hissed.

"Lucinda! That's enough!" My mom yells, standing up from her chair and glares at me with her brown eyes that I never got, I have my father's eyes. Pale blue ones.

"Gladly." I smiled sadly and walked away from them, running and skipping two steps up the stairs 'till I reached my room.

I closed the door with a loud Bang! enough for them to know that I pissed off.

I didn't know that tears were spilling out of my eyes as I absent mindedly wipe them away.

I took out my phone, and turned it on. It wasn't on for weeks since I was in that hospital. I opened to see I got a lot of voice mails, and messages from dad.

Oh. I couldn't hold this any longer, if mom likes this guy and they would be together, god knows what will happen to my already-complicated life.

Before I knew it, I was dialing his number. And, he answered on the second ring.

"Hello? Lucinda? Is that you?" He asks worriedly, and oh, it was heaven when I heard his voice.

""D-dad?" I croaked, and let out a small sob. He shushes me from the other line. "What's wrong? Shh... Stop crying. What happen? I have been worried sick! Where's your mother? I wanna speak to her! Now."

"S-she's down stairs. Dad, why did you abandon mom? I thought you loved us both?"

"Who said I abandoned your mom?" What?

"W-what?" I asked, confused to what he just said. "Mom said you cheated on h-her."

"I didn't cheat on your mother, who said that? I woke up to find the bed empty and yours. I was frantically searching for you!"

"Wait, you don't have another woman?" What does this mean? I am confused!

"I love your mom, I was crazy when I found out you left. What did I do wrong? I love her, even though she left."

The truth fell on top of me like a huge rock, except it was more heavier than a rock.

This could only mean one thing, my mom lied to me.

"Dad. Would you mind driving here to fetch me?" I asks, and he says yes, even though it's a one hour drive from here.

"I'll be waiting dad."

I looked at the time, 7:00 pm. By eight, my plan will begin.

I took out a huge triangle and looked at it, examining it. Yes, this might cause a huge explosion.

After packing a small bag, filled with my clothes and my personal belongings, I silently tip-toed downstairs to see my mom and Joshua watching tv. His daughter nowhere in sight.

Mmh, must have went home.

I cracked a smile, before I dash upstairs to do the last step of the plan.
