《Hex [h.s]》Chapter Twenty

"I'll go upstairs, if that's okay with the two of you."
The television's screen is so bright because they turned the lights off in the living room and that hurts my eyes.
"Oh sure, we'll just finish the movie here, okay?" Mom smiled.
I nodded at the both of them in return, "Night Mom, night Aunt Crystal."
They waved goodnight, and I quickly ran upstairs. When I reached my room, I turned my laptop on. Cursing when the wifi was taking so long to load, I clicked Google and stared at the empty search box.
What I am I going to type?
I pressed the keyboards, typing 'Red moon'. And clicked 'Enter'. While waiting for the screen to appear, I bit my nails in trepidation.
What was going to be the results? Will there even be any?
When the page finally finished, all I can see was 'The coming of the Son of Man!' or 'End of the world!' and 'Blood moon, lunar eclipse'.
I shook my head, this must be a joke they're trying to pull. Once again, the search box was empty.
Think Lucinda, think.
Before I knew it, I was typing his name. I didn't know why, but it just came into my mind. When the page loaded, a lot of things popped out that made my eyes go wide.
'Murderer Harry Styles, killed a couple last July 1978.'
'Harry Styles, most wanted criminal, kills three victims by chopping their heads off!"
That is sick!
But one article caught my eye, it was 'Harry Styles, dead, in his own house'.
I clicked the link and the page appeared right away.
A picture of Harry, in his early twenties. He looked so young. Same curly hair, and piercing eyes that could probably kill me too. The picture was black and white, so I didn't know what color his eyes were.

I can't help but feel sorry for the people, whom Harry mercilessly killed without a second thought.
And there, it ends.
Who's Mertil?
I went back to the home page and searched the girl. I clicked an article about her and read curiously.
I didn't manage to read futher because the laptop's screen suddenly turned black, as if its power was suddenly drained that it made me panic.
"What the hell are you doing?" He hissed and threw my laptop away, the screen shattering into bits, causing me to gasp in fear and slowly backed away.
"N-nothing!" I managed to stutter out a reply, only for my back to hit the headboard of my bed. Shit!
"Nothing?! It was obvious you were snopping around!" He yells, slapping me hard, making me hit the floor due to the impact.
My cheek was throbbing, and I hissed when I touched it. He was mad. And I know, I won't be able to survive this night.
"I-I wasn't!" I indignantly screamed. Without hesitation, he grabbed my ankles and pulled me towards him, I squirmed in his hands.
"Stop! P-please!" I pleaded and I felt something sharp poking my arm. I let out a shriek of pain when it went through my skin.
Harry was piercing my arm with a small knife, that I recalled myself washing it in the kitchen.
"Liar!" He yells in my ear, grabbing a fistful of my hair and banged my head on the floor. I groaned in pain before and he lifts me on the bed, him straddling me, while slapping me so hard, repeatedly.
"You little slut! GO TO HELL!"
He pushed me off the bed, my nose cracked when it hit the floor. My arms felt weak, the other one wounded.

I tried to lift myself off the floor, but I can't. I maneuvered my head up to face his back.
"No wonder... she left... you."
He turned around sharply, eyes trained at me. His nose was flaring and knuckles white. Well, his skin was already pale since he was dead. However, seeing him this angry made him seem alive.
"You don't even know what you're talking about, bitch." He spat, and turned his back at me again.
I chuckled, my eyes seeing black spots, but I didn't care. "You're a monster that's why. You didn't deserve her."
He slowly spun around, and just before my eyes closed in full exhaustion, I saw green. Vibrant emeralds.
It was his eyes. His eyes were green. More greener than a healthy field of grass.
And that was when I closed my eyes.
"Lucinda, my god. This is not happening!"
I fluttered my eyes open, and once again for what seemed like the hundredth time, I met the harsh lights of the hospital room.
"Mom..." I called for her weakly, and she instantly grabbed my hand. Reassuring me with her presence.
"Mom's right here, baby. What happened to you?" She croaked, it was clear that she has been crying.
"It hurts everywhere."
And it was true, I felt like there are knives pointed at every part of my body.
"It's okay hon, that's just going to disappear." She patted my head, and I nodded weakly.
"Where's Aunt Crystal?" I questioned, and that's when she started to break down.
"Mom, w-what's wrong?" I asked despite thinking I already knew the answer, but I'm too scared to tell it.
"S-she's gone baby, someone killed her!" My Mom cried, "I woke up to find her dead, her throat was sliced open, and I went to your room to find you on the f-floor."

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.

Humans Must Adapt!
Humans Must Adapt is a First Person point of view from the eyes of slightly crazy and totally not a masochist MC. The setting takes place on a copy of earth with a different name. A cataclysmic event causes the native humans to be usurped from their natural place at the top of the food chain. Time has now passed, and the Humans have managed to settle themselves into mediocrity. But this is not enough.Note: I don't plan on including sexual content. The MC won't have an end game goal right from the start. Feedback is welcomed. The MC is a Tamer.
