There is a tap

and the shoji door opens

to admit the small Attendant

again

The small figure seats itself

upon the tatami floor

neatly tucking legs

sitting in perfect form

The mask wavers

like waves of the sea

when an inkling strikes me

and I open my mouth

but before a words leaves my lips

small hands reach up

and the mask is peeled away

to reveal a young boy

with raven hair

golden eyes

with depths of fire

He speaks

and the voice of a calm river

resonates

"Miko-sama."

His voice.

"You have come for your heart."

My voice.

"No, I have come for you."
