to my own heart
I watch its small hand
tick as my heart
pounds
echoes
pumping blood
throughout my body
A dull tone echoes out
the bell tone once again
The tassels rustle
upon my garments
as I brace myself
for the resonance
Suddenly, a voice
the sound of a calm river
appears at my ear
and whispers:
"Wake and escape, little bird."
