There sits an empty room

the walls bare of tapestries

gold-fringed cloth

stands for the god idols

that waver in the flickering light

of four candles

But the center, right before

my gaze,

is occupied by two clocks

They are wooden clocks

as designed in a foreign land

with trees of the homeland

cut to fill its shape
