《Green Ham and Eggs [Angry Birds fanfic]》Chapter 7. What's This Feeling?

Both Leonard and Red stayed still for what felt like forever with both of them, turning a bright red in embarrassment.
"Sorry... i just was... checking up on you..."
Leonard apologized, breaking the eye contact and stepping away, hiding his flustered face as Red stood up off the bed and awkwardly placed his arms in his jacket.
"I am completely fine, i was just taking a nap."
Red mumbled softly. Leonard was rather acting strange for sure. He'd become so flustered so easily. This opened a few new ideas for Reds eventual escape for him now.
"Well do you like the bed?"
Leonard eventually asked, facing Red again.
"It was... alright."
Red lied, not wanting to admit how so much more comfy it actually was than his own bed.
"That's good, cause we will be sleeping on it."
Leonard laughed.
"Oh! And i brought you some extra clothes to sleep in."
Leonard remembered, pulling out a shirt and pants with pigs printed all over it. Red looked at the clothes and held it up, seeing that it was a short sleeved shirt and shorts, something Red rarely and almost never wore. Well around other people.
"Pigs? um, I'm good. I'll just sleep in the clothes I'm wearing now."
Red answered, offering back the clothes.
"In that old jacket? It gets really hot during the night, are you sure?"
Leonard questioned, taking back the clothes.
"I am very much sure."
Red crossed his arm, determined to stay in his comfortable rugged jacket. Leonard just shrugged his shoulders and walked over to his wardrobe.
"Alright, but when the heat does actually get you, I'll place it in here."
Leonard said, neatly placing the organised clothes in his wardrobe.
"Trust me i won't need it."
Red insisted.
"If you say so."
Leonard went on, avoiding any argument and grabbing a bigger size of the same pair.

"Well I'll go get changed into pjs then."
Leonard stated, walking out of the room. Red watched Leonard leave the room and once he was out of sight, he slowly glanced back over at the pjs. When Red was holding them, he could feel how soft it was, almost like a cloud. Red walked over to the pjs and grabbed the shirt again, observing it.
"What's with this dude and the colour green and pigs?"
Red questioned, looking at all the small smiling pigs on the shirt.
"Funny question you ask actually"-
"GAAAH!"
Red shouted turning around and hiding the shirt behind him as he leaned against the still opened wardrobe. Leonard was seen standing by his bed, a few steps from Red, wearing the same piggy patterned short sleeve and shorts offered to Red, only a bigger size to fit Leonard.
"Can you knock or something! And how were you so quick?"
Red screamed, standing back up.
"Sorry heh, i didn't know i was quiet and the bathroom is just next door."
Leonard apologized, rubbing the back of his neck.
"And with the pigs, I'm surprised you're questioning it now instead of our island being called 'Piggy Island' heh."
Leonard started, stepping closer to Red.
"Hey i never really cared enough about you to remember your dumb islands name."
Red defended, .throwing the shirt back with the pants.
"Aaw well our name apparently comes from the fact that our island used to be inhabited with lots of green pigs."
"Green pigs?"
"They were quite unique pigs apparently, very rare now as you don't see many around anymore... probably because my ancestors tended to love bacon."
Leonard speculated, believing there wasn't even a single pig on his island.
"That's also like my own island, Bird Island. Minus the whole eating part."
Red also added with Leonard looking down intrigued and softly chuckling.
"As you might know, we look after alot of rare and almost endangered birds, all with beautiful coloured feathers."

Red educated, thinking of all the colourful birds he had came across and had even painted before.
"Seems like your people do actually take care of your species, unlike mine."
Leonard laughed whereas Red slightly chuckled also remembering how far he actually was from home and all those birds. Red soon enough let out a fake yawn and stretched his arms back.
"Well, i am really tired now so I'll probably go to sleep now."
Red gestured over to the bed.
"You don't want to maybe eat something first?"
Leonard queried, looking upset that Red was going to bed so quickly.
"I'm good, you guys probably eat way different things from me anyways."
Red brushed off, walking over to the bed.
"What's the harm in trying something new?"
Leonard asked, putting on a little smile, but Red didn't even argue back as he was already asleep on the bed, curled up into a little ball. Leonard just smiled softly and walked over to Reds side, pulling the blankets up and covering Red with them before leaving the room.
Red wasn't actually asleep though, he had only layed in the bed for like a couple of seconds and almost thought Leonard was going to kiss him goodnight or something. Red sighed a deep sigh, covering his face with the green covers.
'This is such a weird experience...' Red thought to himself.
'Aren't i like supoose to be a prisoner?? Why is he acting so weirdly?' So many thoughts and conspiracies were running through Reds mind but eventually Red just became too tired to think or worry and eventually fell asleep.
Red had the weirdest dream, most of it being incoherent and strange like usual but one part of his dream made sense but still was... strange. In the dream, while he had been teaching a fish to fly, a fisherman came around in a boat and this fisherman looked alot like Leonard and Red thought to himself, that he looked cute. The fish even joked to Red about it and the fisherman blushed as he gave him a bouquet of dead fish, scaring off his fish friend, causing to get his wings and fly off. As the fish left Red, somehow swooed by the bouqet was about to lean closer until Red finally woke up.
He quickly sat up, questioning so much about that dream. Red cautiously looked over at the sleeping Leonard and sighed in relief. Though Red felt as thought he couldn't go back to sleep, Leonard was right about the heat, as it was boiling, Red was steaming from wearing his jacket. He glanced over at the soft pair of pjs again and hesitated a bit before finally getting up and taking the clothes as he walked to the bathroom, hoping to not wake up Leonard.
Red locked the door behind him and changed into the bright green shorts, looking at himself in the mirror as his jacket laid beside him. Red just took a deep breath in and then a deep breath out as he opened the door again, looking left and right into the dark abyss, hesitant. He could just find his way out right now. This would be perfect time to search for any emergency boats and somehow swim back home, with no knowledge of where to go. Red thought about it quickly but brushed it off as not yet a good time as he sneaked his way back inside the room, placing his jacket down as he huddled back into bed. Red was faced away from Leonard as he felt shuffling coming from the opposite side of the bed then silence, before a thump and then silence again. Afterwards Red was able to comfortably fall back asleep.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
