"Daniel...," I whispered his name in fear and looked at him with wide eyes.
He quickly grabbed my hand softly and glanced at me. There was softness and gentleness in his eyes.
"Don't panic," He said and gave my hand a gentle squeeze.
"Call Furqan and put my phone on speaker," He told me in a calm voice and handed me his phone.
I unlocked his phone after he told me his password. I opened the contact list and called Furqan. The call was answered quickly and I put it on the speaker.
............
"I want hawks at the QW road near the secret warehouse in ten minutes. All armed and ready," Daniel ordered in a stern and dangerous voice.
............
"How many?" He asked, quickly.
............
Daniel glanced at me again while I was confused and scared.
"Count how many black cars are behind us," He said to me.
I turned around and tried to count the black cars.
"8-10," I informed him and turned back to my seat.
............
"I am sending 5," Furqan whoever he was, answered.
............
"Make everything ready," Daniel said and took mobile from my hand and hung up.
............
I looked at him in confusion and waited for some explanation but he didn't give and continued driving. With a huff, I looked ahead and leaned back.
Hawks?
"Not now, Izzah," He whispered like he knew I was going to throw my questions at him.
I looked at the wing mirror and noticed the cars behind us were trying to overtake us.
Oh Allah! I promise I'll leave all my bad and lazy habits but please I don't want to die with Daniel.
I prayed silently again and again.
Daniel drove to a quiet road where no traffic was. I didn't want to die with him for crying out loud. I was getting tense and sweated in fear of dying with him.
Out of nowhere more cars came behind us but they came between our car and black cars. Daniel stopped the car and pulled a pistol from the cup holder.
How I didn't notice before?
"Lock the door and don't unlock it until I say," He ordered me and climbed out of the car.
I quickly locked it and jumped in fear when the sound of guns echoed. More sounds like this were coming, made me feel like this was going to be the last moment of my life.
I was staring at the time from the past fifteen minutes. The sounds of fire had stopped five minutes ago but he hadn't come back. I was so scared to turn around and see what was happening now.
I was biting my nails anxiously when he returned back but opened the door on my side and pulled me out.

"You are alive!" That was the first thing that came out of my mouth.
"Izzah," He looked at me with a 'don't start here' look.
He pulled me towards another car and held my neck while walking behind me. He wasn't letting me look behind us from where the sounds of talking were coming out. There was another car in front of us and he opened it quickly and pushed me inside gently. He looked at me in my eyes with a serious look that told me to obey him.
When he was not serious?
"Don't ask any question or irritate him," He ordered me with a nod towards the man who was sitting in the driver seat.
That man looked so scary that made any child hide under their bed.
"Take her home. Safe and sound," He ordered that scary man too.
The scary man nodded his head and Daniel closed the door. That man drove us away from there quickly while I looked outside from the window.
"Who were those people and who are you?" I asked him looking from the rear mirror.
"Can't answer. And I'm Furqan," He answered me.
I narrowed my eyes at him from the rear mirror then looked away with a huff because I knew I couldn't gain anything from him but I was curious to know what was that.
In fifteen minutes, he drove me to the home and reversed the car when I stepped out. I went inside the house and took a relaxing shower then I walked to the dining room for dinner. My father-in-law was present there like he was waiting with dinner already on the table.
"Where is Daniel?" He asked me as I sat on my seat.
"Er.. I don't know. He sent me with someone halfway," I answered him and put mouthwatering dishes on my plate.
He picked his spoon but put it back when I told him. He looked at me and asked me the reason and I told him quickly because I just wanted to eat my dinner.
He didn't ask me any questions after this and I ate peacefully while he was eating and thinking at the same time.
"Who were those people?" I asked him after I was done.
"They are no one," He answered me, politely then added, "Don't worry about it."
His simple answer told me that he didn't want to answer me or talk about it. I nodded my head and looked down at my plate then quickly looked at him.
"What is your son?" I asked him because out of sudden I wanted to know about Daniel because I was finding him interested and mysterious.
"He is Daniel. Your husband," He answered me, relaxing on his seat.

"No, I mean I know who he is but he is also a doctor. I didn't know about it and when I asked him why he became a doctor if he doesn't work, he dodged my question," I told him and also told him about what happened in the hospital.
He looked at me with a surprise look but it quickly vanished. There was a look of disbelief in his eyes and he became silent.
"Why do you look surprised?" I asked him in confusion.
"Nothing. I never thought he would ever use his doctorate degree," He mumbled to himself and looked lost suddenly with a smile on his face.
It was like he was sitting here but wasn't present mentally. There were many emotions running in his eyes as he was lost.
"She always wanted him to become a doctor and save people," He whispered, softly and quietly and his eyes turned red slowly like he was holding his tears.
He stood up quickly and walked away while I looked at his empty chair in daze.
She?
Suddenly, I was feeling jealous of whoever that was. That 'she' could be his any relative but my heart was not ready to accept it.
But am I getting jealous?
I stood up from there and went to my room thinking about whoever she was. I wanted to know about her and what relationship she had with my husband.
Husband? Seriously? What was happening to me? I shouldn't think about anything related to him and he wasn't my husband.
But is he a spy? Government's special man? An agent? OR detective?
"...Knew he was a killer first time that I saw him
Wonder how many girls he had loved and left haunted
But if he's a ghost, then I can be a phantom
Holdin' him for ransom..."
I was listening and singing loudly as I was arranging my closet and cleaning up the closet. I was singing on top of my lungs if anyone was standing with me then he/she could have turned deaf.
"...Some, some boys are tryin' too hard
He don't try at all, though
Younger than my exes but he act like such a man, so
I see nothing better, I keep him forever
Like a ven--"
"vendet--," I stopped singing when I noticed the song on my mobile was stopped.
I put the folded dresses down and quickly turned around to see what happened with my mobile. Hareem was standing there with my mobile in her hands and looked afraid and terrified.
"Hareem, why did you do this?" I whined with a pout because I was enjoying it.
"Did something happen?" I asked her when she didn't reply to me and was shaking in fear.
I stood up and walked to her quickly and checked if she had fever or something else because she was acting strange.
"Don't ever listen and sing songs again in this house," She whispered, lowly in fear like she was afraid that someone would hear her.
"Hareem, what are you talking about? And why shouldn't I do that?" I asked her, softly and took my mobile from her hand and put it on the small table.
"Both sirs don't like music. Once a man was listening and singing loudly, on the duty and both sirs heard them...," She said looking in my eyes and stopped.
"Then?" I asked her and noticed she was shaking.
"They took him somewhere and no one knew what happened to him but I heard from some guards that he was tortured in a room for a month," She answered me in a shaking voice.
I was stunned and shocked after learning something horribly new.
"Is he alive or..?" I asked her, breathlessly.
"Alive but he doesn't speak to anyone. I heard he has lost his voice," She answered me, quietly and ran away quickly.
I was starting to think of this family as a mysterious family and I so wanted to solve this mystery.
After cleaning and arranging my closet, I stepped out and fell on my bed dramatically with a huff. I stretched my arm lazily to turn the switches off of the lights that were beside my bed.
"Now I have to switch myself from a doctor to a detective," I whispered to myself and closed my eyes to sleep.
I didn't know exactly what time it was when I woke up in the middle of the night. I felt myself thirsty and hungry. I rubbed my eyes and sat up and picked my phone to check the time.
I yawned and stood up from the bed and went to the washroom first then I went to the kitchen in the darkness. The lights of the whole house were turned off, only a few night lights were on.
I passed from Daniel's room and suddenly thought to check on him. I didn't know why but I went to his room and slowly opened the door.
"Don't leave me.. Please..," I heard the painful pleading of Daniel.
I quickly walked inside and turned the lights on only to find him breathing heavily, sweating, clenching the sheets and pleading in a painful voice in his sleep like he was in pain.
"Please.. Don't.. I am sorry.. Please," He whispered in his sleep and a tear slipped from his eyes.
I sat beside him on his bed and was about to wake him up but stilled in shock when I heard him and felt my heart clenched tightly,
"Please I.. I.. Love you.."
