《Vanilla Smoke (Blue Exorcist)》Chapter 14

Shuku shot up to the sound of a gunshot in her room, having arrived from the hospital. Hebimaru also shot up, hissing at the noise. Shuku leaped out of bed and grabbed for her knives in one swift movement. Shuku wasn't really dressed, the bandages around her chest were loosely wrapped, and she wore a pair of pajama bottoms, her torso and scars were completely exposed. Shuku ran out into the hallway, with Hebimaru darting up ahead.
"Master! The roof!" Hebimaru shouted to her, and she ran up the stair, taking two at a time despite her sore body.
The roof above them shook, and Shuku made it to the top of the stairwell Yukio was hurt, and Rin was in deep shit, in the hands of a massive nyberias. Shuku hadn't faced something like this in a long time. And back then, she was almost dead, so there was little to no difference as history repeated.
"Hear my plea and gather o celestial light. Rain down from the heavens in a spear of starlight!" Shuku shouted, slicing her finger and drawing across her right arm as a similar tattoo to the one on her opposite arm appeared.
Electricity filled her body, power flooding her every vain. Shuku let out a scream and beams of light shot down from the sky. One pierced the demon's arm, another it's torso, the other beams scattered across the roof.
"What the?" A voice asked in shock, and Shuku's vision blurred.
After that, the large, blurry figure vanished and in smoke, not dead, but gone. Rin was released from the nyberias' grasp and Shuku fell onto her knees, panting from exhaustion. Nope, shouldn't have done that. A blurry Yukio has broken the circle, and before the teacher could summon something else, Rin had his sword at his throat.
"Noyhouse. For your own good, you better stop this now. If you lose any more blood you'll die!" Yukio's voice exclaimed. Black spots started to appear in Shuku's vision.

Shuku fell onto the ground, the world a blurry mess, what had happened here? Rin had unsheathed his sword, the teacher was bleeding, and Yukio seemed injured as well.
"What the hell are you?" Shuku could just hear Rin growl.
"What am I?" The teacher asked rhetorically, sounding sly, "A survivor of the Blue Night"
The blue night? Shuku had still been a newborn at the time, but she'd heard many had died. None of the adults talked about it, blaming the exorcists. So all she really knew was that a lot of people had died and it had been Satan's doing.
"The Blue night? Ya don't say." Rin answered, his voice low.
"It lasted a few seconds, Satan possessed my body, and I lost this, my eye. There was nothing I could do to stop it. And when my family tried to save me, Satan took over my hand and used it to slaughter them all. I won't forgive Satan or any demon I come across. And that goes for the son of Satan as well!" He yelled, and Shuku watched blankly, hearing them, but not registering the words.
"I'm going to kill you, even IF IT MEANS I DIE DOING IT!" He shouted and something pierced Rin stomach.
Shuku let out a faint cry, Rin was hurt, but so was she, and Yukio, and the summoning teacher too. Shuku's vision filled with black spots and the world went silent. She shouldn't have done the incantation or even used anyone at all. She knew that she wasn't at full strength and that one was half-assed and drained her when she wasn't at full strength. STuipid. The world faded away from blurry figures to black.

Shuku looked blankly at the clown in front of her. Hebimaru collided around her, helping her stay upright and not kiss the floor, he had insisted. After using her other incantation, Shuku had pushed herself too hard and started having nosebleeds frequently from the stress on her body. She was surprised she wasn't dead really, anyone else would be. But rather a weak and inaccurate incarnation than being dead, unless there were certain circumstances than Shuku wouldn't mind dying.

"I've svine thry! Congratulations on passing the exam, you've all been promoted to Exwires!" He exclaimed, and everyone but Shuku cheered. She just wasn't feeling it, and she still had a major dislike for Sir Faust. "And to celebrate I'm treating you all to a feast." He stated and the boys filled with enthusiasm. "Whose hunger for Monja!"
"I think I'll pass. I'm still tired and don't want to ruin it." Shuku sighed, then yawned for effect, Shuku wanted to just go back to the dorm and sleep... for the next week.
"Oh, before you leave Ms. Murasaki, I must ask, where did you get those incantations I heard so much about? Multiple reports said you vanished, then reappeared later, but were completely wiped out, and you used a different one to enhance your fire. And the one you used yesterday was quite impressive as well, even if not at full power." Mephisto inquired, a curious smirk on his face.
"Places. If that's all, I'll be in my dorm, later." Shuku gave a small waved then walked out, and back to the dorm before anyone could answer her vague response. Hebimaru helped her walk, making her keep a hand on his head. Leaving a frowning Clown behind before he could stop her.
When Shuku and Hebimaru went inside, Shuku walked up into the kitchen and knocked on the door before walking inside. Ukobach popped his head out and nodded for her to come in.
"Hey, Ukobach. Sorry to bother you, but is the tea I asked for about ready? I'm going up to my room and would like a cup to take with me." Shuku asked the red stove spirit, and he nodded, jumping around the kitchen, grabbing a small mix of herbs and making them into tea.
Hebimaru waited outside the kitchen, tongue flickering. Ukobach got really upset when he came into the kitchen, though he did eat all the mice from the area. Hebimaru had once mistaken him for a new snack, and had tried to eat Ukobach, the two really didn't like each other.
The red familiar handed Shuku a warm cup of herbal tea that smelt like chamomile, vanilla, and jasmine. Gratefully, she accepted the cup, thanked Ukoback and went to her room, setting the cup down. Shuku sat in her desk chair and looked at what lay there. Yesterday's homework, notes, her kunai blades, a vial of vanilla extract than the second vial of lighter fluid, then Shuku's mp3 player with her ear buds. Shuku took a sip of the tea, then spotted something that hadn't been there before. A letter.
Setting her tea down after taking a sip, Shuku picked up the letter and looked at it. It had been set on her desk, and on the back, it was clearly addressed to her. Opening it using one of her blades, Shuku removed the key from inside and a letter along with it. Opening the letter she read it:
Shuku,
We need to talk. I'll be waiting on the other side of the place that key leads you too. Just me and you, Rin won't be coming. I have questions to ask you and our talk is long overdue. I'll be waiting later tonight at around 9 pm, dress nice.
From Yukio.
Shuku blinked, getting the gist of the note. A date huh? Clever Glasses. Better pick out something nice then that's not pant's and her hoodie for her interrogation over dinner. If Yukio wanted a date, why not ask her directly. Shuku smirked. That clever fox.
