if the strawberry

stars fell to earth

i would catch them

all for you, even

as the sacred flames

engulf my fingertips

i would grip the dying

celestial jewels for you

as if my life depends on it

(because it does)

i would extend my

burnt and withered

hand filled with

encrusted sapphire

comets and whisper

to you a lullaby of

moon grass and astro

flowers and ghostly stars

and undying love

that lasted forever

(until the end)

but you would kiss my

hand with your butterfly

lips and tell me your misty

heart is too twisted to

love such a perfect

being like me

(and i would crumble)

and in my despair i would

tear apart the very body

that the love of my life just

called perfect, throwing

the smouldering stars at my

cursed curves and silky skin

(until i was no longer perfect)
