Y/N walked around to see everyone practicing their acts when she saw Vitaly, leaning against the train car. She approached him as he just watched the others practicing.

“Why aren't you practicing, V?” she wondered, getting his attention.

“I know what to do. I don’t need to practice something I’ve done for years,” he stated.

“Are you sure that’s the only reason?” Y/N asked.

“Yes. Why would you think otherwise?” Vitaly remarked, looking away.

“Because Stefano told me what happened to you when you did it last time,” she answered.

He looked back at her with a little surprise, then just sighed as he looked back toward the others, saying, “I just don’t want to go through that again. I don’t know what to do.”

Y/N went to him, put a hand on his shoulder, and said, “You won’t have to do it alone if you don’t want to.”

Vitaly looked at her again, asking, “You’d really do that?”

“Yeah. I would,” she answered.

He showed a hint of a smile at that. She gave him a hug, making him return it. But he was honestly more worried that she’ll get hurt in the process.

"And I'm sorry about everything you lost. It wasn't your fault that all happened," Y/N whispered into his fur.

"How could it not? I pushed myself too far," Vitaly responded, gently pulling away to look at her.

"Because you learn from your mistakes. You don't know until you try. All that happened after that, that's on them, not you," she answered.

"I appreciate that, Y/N. More than you know. But it still does not change the fact that I have limit. And going down in flames seems to be that limit," he explained, bowing his head.

Y/N sighed then told him, "Try not to work too hard."

She then kissed his cheek and left, making him look after her with surprise and in thought. She did have a point about what happened after he was burned. He then smiled at the thought of the kiss.
