《His Precious Girl》Chapter Fourteen

"I cannot believe that goody two shoes Arabella Meier skipped school with me." Anissa said as she looked through her closet.

"We did not skip school." I said with an eye roll. "You were hurt so we simply went home. It's almost the end of the day anyways."

"Is your wrist okay?" I asked worriedly and she turned around to look back at me and gave me a smile.

"I'm fine don't worry. I was going to kick his ass but Marcus came so I didn't get the chance." She made a huffing sound and I chuckled.

"You looked pretty shaken up when I came though." I said cautiously and she sighed.

"Honestly I was kinda scared. I mean he was literally a giant compared to me and he was overpowering me. Plus that weird creepy look in his eyes." She shuddered.

"Thank god he didn't do anything else." I said.

"I mean we were at school what was he going to do." She said with a shrug.

"You never know Anissa just be careful around him." I said and she nodded.

"Oooo! I found it!" She said taking out a pair of black ripped jeans.

"Why were you looking so much for this?" I asked and she gave me a grin.

"Marc said my ass looks great in this and I love it paired with his jersey that I'm gonna tie to show off my stomach." She said excitedly and I laughed.

"What are you going to wear?" She asked.

"Blue denim shorts and the shirt stops below the shorts anyways so you won't really see it." I said with a shrug and she smirked.

"Ooo sexy." She said and we both laughed.

"Did Marcus tell you what happened?" I asked her as I got up and looked through her closet to find the shorts I wanted.

Lee had texted me that everything was fine but he couldn't tell me any details since he needed to go pick up his little brother after school.

"Yeah amongst the hundred apologies he told me that they were going to get suspended for causing a fight but than Lee explained the whole thing and used his "argument skills" to get them out of suspension and into lunch detention. But the guy is suspended for a week." She grinned and I nodded.

"I never knew Lee had arguing skills." I said with a laugh.

"Speaking of him you hadn't spilled much tea about you guys. Now that we have time before the game tell me everything." She said as I came to sit next to her on the bed with the shorts.

We both laid down on the bed as I started telling everything about my relationship to my best friend.

Once I was done I looked at her and surprisingly she had a scrunched up face.

"What's with that face?" I asked frowning.

"You guys are just too disgustingly adorable." She said and I started to laugh somewhat embarrassed.

"No we're not!" I argued and she looked at me like I was stupid.

"From everything you just told me yes you are. It isn't bad though like I said it's adorable." She smiled teasingly and I blushed.

"Whatever we should get ready for the game." I said and she nodded getting up.

We got dressed and put on some light makeup before leaving the house and driving back towards school.

"Do you think they'll win?" I asked nervously.

"Of course they will." She said confidently. "They practiced non stop for this match and it's the last one for the year."

"Yeah and Lee said scouts are coming too." I said and her eyes widened.

"Really?! They could get scouted? Oh my god why didn't Marcus tell me! That idiot" she grumbled and I laughed as we found seats to sit down.

The game was going to start in fifteen minutes and they were playing against a rival school in the city. I remember a couple months back they had lost and at the time I was still with Jace and he was very disappointed and so was Marcus.

I really hope they win this time.

"Can I sit here?" Someone asked shyly and we looked up to see Rosie smiling hesitantly at us.

Anissa glanced at me and I looked back awkwardly.

What? I mouthed to her and she looked at Rosie before looking at me basically saying it's up to me.

"Of course." I said with a smile and she smiled back, taking the seat next to me.

"Your guys are here to watch Marcus?" Rosie asked and Anissa nodded.

"And Lee!" I added with an exited smile looking at the field where they were stretching before the game.

"Who's Lee?" Rosie asked curiously.

"My boyfriend." I answered and her eyes widened.

"Oh." She said surprised before a smile took over her face. "That's great!"

She weirdly seemed relived.

"Why do look so relived." Anissa said my exact thought and we both waited for her response.

"Umm..." she suddenly sounded very nervous and Anissa raised her eyebrow waiting for an answer.

"It's just Jace was worried." She mumbled and my face scrunched up in confusion.

"Worried about what?" I asked.

"He felt really guilty and said you really liked him and he thought the break up was going to be very hard on you and you only acted like it didn't bother you cause that's your nature." She said in one breath and I scoffed.

"What a jerk." I mumbled not really realizing what I was saying.

"Oh sorry." I said to Rosie who looked shocked.

"You should tell Jace that I got over the break up just fine." I said irritated and she nodded looking away.

"Damn girl!" Anissa whispered.

I was so annoyed at Jace. I was so nice about everything than he went and told his girlfriend all of that crap?

Remembering our break up I scoffed.

Should have punched him in the face. My conscience said.

Flashback

Jace asked me to meet up after weeks of not seeing each other and I was relived.

It's been so long since we've even been on a date. I had this weird feeling in my stomach that we were not going well so I had always tried to ask him to hang out or see each other to mend our relationship but he either had to go to soccer practice or do that project with Rosie.

At the though of Rosie my stomach churned uncomfortably. I had seen them working together one day at the library, they were both laughing and he was looking at her with a smile he never directed at me.

When was the last time we even laughed together?

It was so long ago that I couldn't even remember.

Well we were seeing each other today so maybe all my efforts of trying to save our relationship was going to pay off.

I walked in the cafe and immediately spotted Jace.

"Hi!" I smiled.

"Hey" he said and waited for me to sit across for him

My smile faltered at the fact that he didn't get up to even hug me but I sat down without saying anything.

"So what's up?" I started the conversation and he looked at me before looking back down at his coffee.

He didn't even get me mine.

"Nothing much." He answered and I nervously played with my hands.

I knew how this was going to end.

"Look Bella..." he started off and I took a deep breath preparing myself.

"I think we should break up." He said and looked at me with guilt.

"Why?" I asked.

Why had I tried so much to keep together something that was long broken?

Why hadn't I let go like he had been doing?

"I just think we're better off as friends." I scoffed at what he said because I knew that wasn't the reason.

"No I'm sorry. I won't lie to you. I actually started having feelings for someone else." He said and this time he looked up at me. I closed my eyes shut before opening them back up.

"Did you cheat on me?" I asked and his eyes widened and he frantically shook his head.

"No of course not! I never ever acted on my feelings. I didn't cheat on you." He promised but he didn't know that even if he hadn't done anything I still felt cheated on.

He looked at someone else with love while being with me for so long and that's considered cheating to me.

He knew for weeks. He let me worry for weeks. He let me plan dates for week only to be let down every single time.

He should have told me weeks ago instead of letting me wondering why we weren't working out anymore.

Instead he was spending time with his crush.

"Okay." I nodded.

"That's it?" He said.

"That's it" I said and walked away from him.

I couldn't find it in me to cry or even hate him.

It was bound to happen.

Still that night when I went home I cried.

I cried because I had let myself down.

I cried because I had gotten heartbroken by someone who had moved on before even completely letting me go.

I cried because I had felt betrayed for something that wasn't exactly a betrayal.

I cried because I had felt embarrassed.
