《Stranded》pt.8

So guess I'm here now. After the fight in the street and after Bo said "fucking fine!" Lester rushed me back to the house. Am i still scared? Fucking ofcorse! Lester had to basically lock me in my room. He did bring me a cup of tea though. I had rubbed my makeup off on a pillow case and was just stuck messing with my knife in my hands. I couldn't call anyone, my phone was with my bags. I was fucking pissed off and just wanted to leave. The window was too high for me to climb out. Maybe if I tied some blankets together.
Looking at the blankets I considered it. "Worth a shot. I'm gonna fucking die anyway." I shrug and pull the blankets off the bed including the sheets. Opening the window I look for something to secure my little climb away to. The door downstairs slammed and I jumped. "Ok time to go." Tieing one end of the blanket rope go the bed I pushed it over go the window. Holding on tight I started to try and climb down. Lack of upper body strength please don't kill me. I wanna die on my own terms thank you very much. Fuck I hate this. Climbing out like this is not as easy as movies make it look. I look down and see that I'm to a point where I could jump down and not hurt my ankles. I'm really happy I didn't wear my heels. Letting go of the blankets I land on the ground and roll. "Ow." I wince. "Miscalculated that." I huff as I get up. Checking to makesure no one was there I started walking. "(Y/n)!" Lester calls out to me from my window. "Sorry man I wanna live!" I call back with a two fingers salute before running.

The wind rushed my face as my shoes hit the pavement. I could hear Lester still calling after then Bo's shouting. "Nope nope nope nope!!!" Running was never my strong point so my best luck was to zig zag. Great about of good that did me as something hit my back. "Fuck! Not again!" I panic as I fall. "Come on I don't wanna die today, I'm not wearing the right outfit." I try to joke as someone picks me up and throws me over their shoulder. "Damn should buy me dinner first if you're gonna hold me like this. Kinky ain't ya?" I try to keep joking. Bo just sighs as we make our way back to the house. "Strong guy hu? I mean I think I'm relatively heavy. Don't know honestly haven't weighed myself in years. Builds a terrible self image." "Would you shut the fuck up!" Bo barks at me. As he kicks open the door to the house. We get into the kitchen and he slams me into a chair. "Ouch come on man my ass is gonna hurt." I smirk before looking around. Lester was making something on the stove and the mystery person was sitting on the other side of the table.
Bo had started ducktaping ny hands and legs to the chair and I just watched. "Got plenty experience doing this hu? Would it be a bad time to say I had to pee?" I squint and Bo looks up at me from my legs with a glare that could cut a bitch. "Just asking, sheesh." "What crawled up your ass you little rager?" Bo mumbles and I shrug. "I put a worm up there just to help me lose a few pounds." All three of them look at me slightly disgusted. "I'm kidding." I sigh and hands my head down for a moment. "Your floor is filthy, I just swept it. You really gotta wipe your feet when you walk in." "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!" Bo almost screams at me. "Just shut up for five fucking seconds you annoying bitch!" He almost pleads and I look over at the man in the wax mask. He looks back at me and I tilt my head. "Whats your name?" I ask ignoring Bo. "Don't fucking talk right now! What did I just fucking say?!" Bo grabs my face with one had. "I'm a pirana they live in the amazon." I quote Darla from finding Nemo before biting Bo's finger. "Fuck!" He snatches his hand back and I smile. "You wanted them. You can keep them. But if she bites me again I'm not responsible." Bo tells the boys as he gets up in a huff to go do something else.

The three of us sit together in the kitchen quietly. "I actually do have to pee." I confess. "You mind taking her to the bathroom Vince? I don't want this burnin." Lester asks the masked man. "Vince, Oh, Vincent! You're the guy that made that stuff in the wax place." I smile and Vincent nods before helping me get out of the ducktape. "Thanks hun." I smile as he undoes my legs. Looking up at me I got another close up look at his mask. Bo's face with certain off sets. He helps me up and has me hold his hand as we walk to the bathroom.

After I was done and washed up Vincent walked me back into the kitchen and sat down next to me. Guessing to make sure I wouldn't run. "Hey um, when can I have my phone? I know I'm probably never leaving here again but I have a pretty ok relationship with my mom. So I'd like to just call her and tell her I love her and that my day was exciting." I ask feeling a twinge in my heart. Honestly I know I'll never make it out of here. But it took years to build this relationship with my mom and I can imagine just not being able to hear her voice again. A tear fell from my eye as I pictured the last time I was with my mom just a couple days ago. A sleeve whipes away my tears and I turn to Vincent. "Here." Lester whispers after making sure Bo wasn't around. Handing me my phone out of his pocket I smile. "Thank you." I say before dialing her number.
"Hello?" "Hey mom, how's it going?" I ask holding back tears. "Oh it was great, how's it going out there?" She asks. "Great, I got to check out a wax museum. But hey we're about to eat so I just wanted to say I love you and I'll call you tomorrow. Ok?" "Ok baby you take care now. Love you too." She hangs up and i hand the phone back to Lester. "Alright. So why am I not dead yet?"

The Song of Souls
WARNING TO MY USUAL READERS: This is not my usual style of story. I've decided to turn this into an anthology of short one-shot stories, that are very atypical of my usual stories or style. Some will be horror, others romance, and others just stupid silly ideas I have. Basically, a collection of shorts I write when I need a break from my usual writing style. I'll include a summary at the start of each "chapter" telling you what to expect. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE SUMMARY! The content and quality of each story will probably vary wildly. (One is even a horror romance featuring an eldritch horror. I promise it's weirder than it sounds.) If you do want to check out my usual writing, be sure to take a gander at my ongoing series, Of Men and Dragons. It's a bit of a long haul at this point, but hopefully it's worth the read! The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
