《Star Wars: Rebirth of the Sith》Chapter 6

"General Corvus! COme in General!" Came a panicked voice through the Hammerheads communication system.
"This is Corvus. What's the problem?" He shouted back.
"It's Commander Erick from recon squad B. Captain Tole and the main excavation squad went into the academy but something happened." He said
"Something? I cant work with something! Please be more specific Erick!" Demanded Corvus.
"Yes sir. The ceiling above the main hall collapsed. Captain Tole and the main excavation troops were in there. I am detecting no signs of life and all communications with the squad have went dark." He said.
"Get that room cleared! Get the second excavation team in and get Captain Tole out then find me that damn artefact!" Corvus shouted angrily.
"But sir, there are no life signs" Erick said resistantly.
Corvus sat back down on his command chair."If there are no survivors then bring out the bodies. The mission must go ahead and we must retrieve that artefact. Do not make me repeat myself, Captain" Scowled Corvus. "Report back to me when you have the room cleared and enlighten me as to how this happened, and if Tole survived. You are now in command."
"Yes General. Thank you sir. Erick out!" He replied as the communications went offline. Being second in command of a Chosen fleet wasn't necessarily a good thing. A lot was expected of the position and excuses were not accepted. General Corvus, angered by what had happened, made for his quarters to relay back an update to Grand Admiral Oberen. However this was more of an inconvenience to Corvus and his own plans. He no longer cared too much for the Grand Admiral and his mission.

"Commander Vex, all ships are ready to make the jump to light speed" said Captain Raj. Commander Vex was head of the Queens Navy and was tasked with leading the assault fleet preparing to go to Korriban. Two transport ships, three assault cruisers, a medical frigate and X-wing and Y-wing starfighters were all prepared for battle.
"Thank you captain." Replied Vex. "All ships, prepare to jump to hyperspace on my lead". She gave the signal to her command crew on board the Queens Blade and they engaged their hyper drive. All other ships followed the Queens blade and entered hyperspace. The intention was to drop out of hyperspace a short distance from Korriban and prepare their shields and weapons. They would send in recon ships to ensure that they could remain undetected and get the chance to launch a surprise attack.
*************
Jadek had made his way through the cave and back onto the surface of Korriban. He now had an opening to get to The Valley of the Dark Lords undetected as no doubt the Chosen forces were going to be occupied with the 'accident' that had just befallen the academy. It was an opportunity that he did not intend on wasting. He made his way up into the rocks and headed for The Valley. It wasn't far from the academy and was easily recognisable by all the statues of the old Sith Lords but he thought to himself "How will i know which Tomb is the right one?". Battling the heat and the sand blowing in his face he reached The Valley. The dark side energy within The Valley was intense. He felt it pull at him from every direction as if his strength was being tested by the force. But he remained strong, resisting wave after wave of dark energy as he walked through The Valley, past numerous statues and tombs. Something kept calling him forward, something that he couldn't explain, but he followed the call. As he walked past a large temple he felt a stronger presence as if something was watching him. "This must be the temple" he said to himself as he looked over to the doorway of the temple. He was right, this was the place, the temple from his dream but there was no dark figure in the doorway this time although he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. He felt like he was in that dream once again only this time he was certain of the reality. He walked over to the temple and stopped at the doorway. This was the tomb for Naga Sadow,

He cautiously made his way into the temple and looked around the room. It was bare. Completely empty with the exception of a few toppled braziers. There was only one door and it was at the far end of the room. He ignited both lightsabers, not knowing what to expect, and headed towards the dark doorway at the back of the room. As he approached the doorway the door itself opened as if to invite him in. He paused to see if someone was there to greet him but no one came out and no one called him in so he continued and walked through the doorway. As he entered the small room the braziers around it lit up. They revealed a large statue of what Jadek assumed to be Naga Sadow and at the foot of the statue was an open sarcophagus.
"Welcome to my home" boomed a familiar voice.
'Are you going to show yourself?" Asked Jadek as he peered into the Sarcophagus. It contained no body, only a lightsaber. "What is this truth you speak of?"
"You don't need those weapons" said the voice, now subtle. It sounded this time like it came from behind him. Jadek quickly spun around to face the doorway. He now realised he was not alone for a hooded figure stood in the doorway. With one swift motioning of the mysterious figures right hand both Jadek lightsabers deactivated.
"Who are you? Why did you call me here? Asked Jadek. "Tell me!". Jadek was now getting frustrated and was still very confused. The hooded figure pulled back their hood and revealed the same face that was depicted on the statue inside the room that they were in.
"I am Lord Naga Sadow" said the figure. "I called you here to offer you my help".
"What? But you have been dead for centuries. And why should i take help from a Dark lord. I should destroy you where you stand!" Shouted Jadek. Naga Sadow laughed and with no effort at all he had Jadek pinned against the wall with he force. Jadek couldn't move a muscle. "As you can see any attempt on my life would be futile. You don't have the power to vanquish a Sith Lord. We Sith Lords do not die. The force sets us free... if we allow it" said Naga Sadow as he released Jadek from his force grip. "Now, are we ready to be civilised with one another?"
"Jadek stood back up. "Why would a Dark lord want to help a Jedi?" Asked Jadek, even more confused, "We are your sworn enemy."
"True. But i hate to see such talent be put to waste, Such talent as yours should not be squandered by those who do not have the courage to act themselves, to those who base a civilisation on lies and deceit." Replied Sadow.
"I don't follow what you mean." Said Jadek.
"Do you trust your superiors?" Asked Sadow.
"Yes of course. They speak for the will of the force" replied Jadek.
"Is that so... Then you should know that the force does not speak and it certainly does not have a will of its own. The force is just energy that is created by life and by death and the balance between light and dark" explained Sadow.
"The foundation fo the Jedi Order was based on teachings from the will of the force!" Shouted Jadek angrily.

"Your order has been built on lies!!" Boomed Sadow. "Have you ever seen the Jedi texts? Not the silly lore that you read now, but the ancient texts?'
"They were destroyed by your kind when Coruscant last fell over a thousand years ago" replied Jadek.
"Not correct, but not completely wrong" replied Sadow. "Observe" he said as he pulled a holocron from his robe. It began to play a scene of Jedi and Sith fighting. "This was the battle that you speak of. The Sith were eradicated."
"What are those Jedi doing?" Questioned Jadek. Upon closer inspection he realised that it was the Elder council led by Hira. "But that's impossible!"
"No. Hira discovered a way to feed of the force in order to preserver the life of the members of the Elder council. he calls it a gift from the light" replied Sadow.
"Where is that room? It looks like a grand Library" asked Jadek.
"That is the library holding the ancient Jedi texts i speak of. It is in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant." Explained Sadow.
"It can't be, i have never seen it" argued Jadek.
The holocron now showed the Elders setting the library ablaze. "No..." said Jadek.
"This is why you have never seen this place. You know it now as the chamber of the sun. As you can see, yes, the Jedi texts were destroyed but not by the Sith. It's always easy to blame an enemy that are no longer there to defend such an accusation." Said Sadow. They then forged new texts based on lore and fantasy. they believed that it would protect Jedi from the dark side of the force and prevent the reincarnation of the Sith order." Continued Sadow.
"This cant be true." Gasped Jadek.
"You can feel it to be true" persisted Sadow. "As i can feel your anger. You feel betrayed and rightly so. You have been sent on a suicide mission. You were sent here to die. You were never expected to succeed. Even a warrior with your skills could not expect to complete this mission. You were sent to a forbidden planet, against an army, in a race to find a lost artefact that may or may not exist. When you were in the room with the artefact, Captain Tole received a transmission from an unknown source alerting them to your presence. But you are stronger than anyone anticipated so you escaped alive."
"How do you know all this?" Asked Jadek.
"I am one with the force. The force is everywhere" he replied.
"The artefact displayed the location of a mask of power on Volik, and of a Sith super weapon on board a cruiser named the Pathfinder". Mentioned Jadek.
"The Mask of Darth Nihilus. It is indeed on Volik. You must retrieve it before the Chosen do. It will grant dreadful power to whoever can wield it. The pathfinder is protected by the electrical storms in the orbit of Malachor V. The weapon houses is called the Force Cannon. I is charged by dark side energy and has the fire power to destroy a planet, much like the Death Star however this weapon is much more powerful and is on a well armoured cruiser with impenetrable shields". Explained Sadow.
Jadek was still trying to piece all this together.
"Wake up boy!" Shouted Sadow. "The. Jedi are a civilisation of liars. They lied to you about your mission just as they lied about your parents death!"
"My parents death was an accident!" Jadek shouted back.
"Ha! Wrong again! The holocron" Sadow motioned it to keep playing. It showed a scene of Jadek parents finding a book. It then showed them in their ship near Coruscant. They were asked to surrender their cargo by a familiar voice. Then before they had the chance to respond their ship was blown up under a barrage of laser fire. The voice of the attacker and the name of the attacker caused Jadek to feel like he had been stabbed in the Heart. "This is Jedi Master Booda. Teh package has been destroyed".
"No... I don't want to believe this!' Said Jadek.
"But you do." Replied Sadow.
"The Jedi order felt your presence when you were born, a huge ripple in the force. When they approached your parents they were refused you. The Jedi sent your parents on a mission to bring back an ancient treasure. The treasure was an old Jedi text - secretly forbidden by you new order. Then Booda destroyed their ship as if to look like they were smugglers with contraband. The Jedi then took you in and raised you as their own." Sadow continued to explain.
"Booda... you bitch..." Jadek muttered. Sadow began to feel the anger in side him bubble.
"My time here is at an end. Do what you wish with the knowledge that i have provided you with, There is one more gift i can give. My lightsaber remains in the Sarcophagus. Only those whom i chose can wield it. It is yours if you so chose." Said Sadow as he quickly faded from sight.
"Wait, no!" Shouted Jadek. But it was too late. Sadow had left and the dark presence along with it. "I need answers! Why have the Jedi betrayed us all?"
Jadek knew now any answers he needed he would have to get himself. The anger he felt now around his parents death. Innocent people murdered by the Jedi for their own selfish reasons. He would have his revenge. He walked back out into the entrance room and was greeted by a familiar face.
"You were told not to come here. You disobeyed a direct order. We were trying to protect you." Said master Booda firmly.

Quantum Worlds (A LitRPG dark fantasy)
Find the missing VIP in an illegal game world. Kill the monsters. Return home for the paycheck. Decorated Marine commander, Damon Williams, never thought his latest mission would take place in a full-immersion world fighting monsters… but when a high-value VIP disappears after being stealthily transported to a banned MMORPG, he's their only hope. Damon must lead a group of rescuers into an unforgiving world infested with terrifying monsters and worse. Pain is real. Death is permanent. He and his crew must adapt quickly, trust each other, and fight to survive. And if all that's not bad enough, they'll also have to race against time to avoid the realm’s disintegration and mutation effects. Quantum Worlds features race and class designations, unique creatures, dungeon crawling, level progression and Easter eggs that reference video games and pop culture. This a dark fantasy, but it also has sprinklings of humor throughout. It is a multi-cast, multi-pov story. In many ways, it is a melding of one of my favorite novels, “The Stand”, with my favourite genre, LitRPG. I don’t espouse to be anywhere near Stephen King, but I would like to think that I have succeeded in many areas here (you’ll be the judge of that). So, this thriller-style story has a lot of build-up and lots of drama. When it hits the 100-page mark, it starts to take off with some intense action and fight scenes (although there are battles long before that). Nothing comes easy for this group of rescuers. And the dangers are very real. This saga is already over 100 chapters with more to come. I hope you enjoy it and look forward to your reviews, comments, and feedback. Thanks. Chapters are uploaded every day at noon ET. Please do not repost this work anywhere without my written permission. Quantum Worlds is a participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge.

But when something goes bump in the night, when people begin to disappear, when a dark mystery begins to haunt even the most peaceful villages, there is only one organization to turn to: the Hunters. The Venatori. Having lived a life of discipline and service, former soldier Caiden Voros finds something even worse than the wars of humans: the monsters that hunt them. Horrors yet unknown even to him and his many scars await in the claws, talons, fangs, and mysterious powers of creatures so far beyond humans that he must dedicate himself entirely to the art of slaying them. Harboring a secret of his own and in a constant struggle to find answers while maintaining his sanity, however, Caiden begins to ask the age-old question... Who is truly worse, the monsters or the Men? Wulfgard: The Hunt Never Ends is an episodic collection of stories, each of which stand on its own, but they also build upon each other in a consecutive order, bridging a gap between a novel and short story collection. These stories follow monster hunter Caiden Voros and his partner Gwen Vergil as they embark on tales of mystery, horror, and adventure to track down monsters - the living dead, beast-men, shape-shifters, spirits, and many more - that would do harm to innocent lives and, by whatever means necessary, put a stop to their terrors. Their motives, however, are not always what they seem.
