《Star Wars: Rebirth of the Sith》Chapter 4

The piloting droid let out a flurry of beeps indicating to Jadek that they were about to reach Korriban. "Engage stealth drive" ordered Jadek as the droided beeped in acknowledgement as it engaged stealth. Jadek channelled his energy and cloaked the ship in the force as the A-wing exited hyperspace. Korriban was now in sight just ahead. Jadek sent the landing co-ordinates to the droid and they approached Korriban. He was instantly shocked when he seen the Empires Chosen fleet. It was supposed to be a small fleet not five battle cruisers including the Hammerhead. The Chosen were serious about this artefact which meant Jadek had to be completely focussed. He reached into the force and detected a substantial deployment of troops and Machinery on the planets surface. This was not going to be an easy mission by any means. "This has the makings of a small army. They must be planning on fortifying Korriban." Jadek said to himself. He needed to inform the council. "Pd, land at these co-ordinates, there is too much activity around our original landing zone". The droid acknowledged the command and headed down to Korriban's surface. They managed to land seemingly undetected. That gave Jadek a good foothold. Once the sip landed Jadek jumped out and instantly activated the communicator to contact the council. "Master Hira i have arrived on Korriban. There are five command ships orbiting the planet, one of which is the Hammerhead. When we were landing i detected two AT-AT walkers and a full garrison of troops as well as construction machinery. They are planning on fortifying Korriban from what i have seen' Said Jadek.
"What!?" Shot back Hira. "This is a lot worse than expected. COntinue with your mission and destroy that artefact at all costs. I will speak to the Queen. We will need to mobilise a fleet and attack that convoy. They cannot be allowed to fortify Korriban!" The communications ended and Jadek ordered the droid to keep the stealth field active. The ship was under a cliff edge so it would be difficult to spot if the stealth field stayed in place. Jadek pulled up his hood and started to traverse around the cliff face and onto the rocks above. He continued along the rock face until he was at the co-ordinates for the academy but as he got there he noticed a Chosen recon trooper standing on the rocks just ahead. They were easy to identify with their black armour standing out against the golden-brown sand and rocks of Korriban. Jadek reached out with the force and pulled the trooper towards him as he ignited one of his lightsabers and in a green blur he ran the lightsaber up the torso of the trooper and the body slumped to the ground. Jadek moved the corpse under a small alcove to attempt to hide it. He took up the scouts position and he was right. There were walkers, troops, construction droids and and excavation team working at the front of the academy. "I need to find another way in" jadek said to himself. He made his way round the rocks to the back of the academy. Using the force he detected an area around the back of the academy that was substantially colder than the planets surface. "That must be a cave" he thought. He moved towards the area and surely enough there was a cave in the rocks. "This must lead into the ruins. I don't appear to have a choice. I cannot take on the whole of the Empires Chosen myself." He said to himself. He ignited one of his lightsabers and used it as a torch to help him navigate the cave, The cave was cold and it was narrow but wide enough for him to crawl through. It reminded him of the escape tunnels that are present in some of the Republic Outposts. As he ventured further inside he began to feel a lot of dark energy and it was making him feel very uneasy. His feelings were well chosen as the ground beneath him fell through. He panicked but was able to use the force to break his fall as he landed face down on the ground. The fall still knocked the air out of him and he had to take a few moments to regain his composure. He re-ignited his lightsaber and in front of him stood the broken remains of a stone doorway. "This is it. This is the academy" he said as he walked through the doorway. He instantly began to feel suffocated by the sheer saturation of dark side energy that suddenly surrounded him. It took all the strength he could muster to fight it back. He needed to remain on his guard. This place was not normal.

He made his way down the long dark hallway and through the stone archway at the end. The room he was now in had a few skeletons lying on the floor. There were claw marks on the door on the other side of the room but the doorway was now open so someone had been here since. There were broken lightsaber hilts and crystals along with various tools and workbenches scattered throughout the room. "This must have been where the Sith were taught to make their own lightsabers" he guessed. He made his way over the rubble and went through the clawed door and continued down the corridor. There were doors on either side of the hallway with beds in them occupied by the skeletal remains of Children. "This must be the dormitories. These are children! Surely the Republic were unaware of this when they bombarded the academy?" He said, shocked. Sith or not, there were children killed when Korriban was levelled. He felt a little bitterness towards the Republic at the thought that they had killed children. Jadek continued down the hallway and stopped at the doorway at the end of the hallway. He heard voices and footsteps. As he peered round the doorway he vaguely made out two black clad figures in the darkness. It was Chosen shock troopers. Using the force he detected that they were the only two there. The room seemed like what was the main hall. Part of the ceiling had broken and the support pillars holding it up looked like they would fall over at a feathers touch. Jadek quickly and quietly slipped into the room and made his way over to the support pillar nearest the troopers. He let out a small force wave and knocked some of the rubble off a nearby wall which drew the attention of both shock troopers. Jadek took the opening and jumped out on the distracted troopers. He ignited both lightsabers and in one quick spin he slashed one Saber across the neck of the first trooper and impaled his second saber through the chest of the the other trooper. Both dropped to the ground, lifeless, before they even had a chance to react. When it came to melee combat Jadek was dominant. He was the best knight a Jedi had since Luke Skywalker and the council firmly believed that he would be a Jedi Master some day.

With the enemies eliminated Jadek looked around the room. It reminded him in a way of the Jedi temple in Coruscant. Tapestries and statues all over the hall. Although the Sith ones depicted more monstrosities than warriors. "This architecture is amazing and has withstood the bombardment from the Republic" jadek said. WHile he was admiring something that he probably shouldn't have been, he felt an intense presence pulling him towards a doorway in the far corner of the room. It was beside a large statue of Marka Ragnos, a legendary Sith warlord. The presence he had been feeling was getting stronger by the second. He made for the doorway to investigate the presence. There was a small staircase which he made his way down and came to a stone door. He tried physically and with the force to open it but it wouldn't budge. "Theres something in there." He said. He looked around and below him was a circular Sith symbol with an open circular recess, a perfect fit for the hilt of a lightsaber. Jadek inserted his lightsaber into the hole and ignited it and the door began to rumble as it opened. The dark energy that was now emanating from that room was toxic but he had to fight through it as there was no doubt that in that room was something powerful. SOmething that the empires chosen were looking for. As Jadek entered the room his feelings were correct. the artefact was here.

8 84The Arcane Gunslinger
A lazy celestial being's mistake leads to Sergeant William Remington, a decorated member of the Coalition Marines, to be placed into a new body. His old life aboard the Valkyrie, an interstellar destroyer has also been replaced as he finds his new body in an unknown world. Where he learns of magic, skills, the system, helhorses, and slinging lead with ancient revolvers. Initially, he is skeptical of his new norm but the desire to survive leads him to try to earn a living while he figures out what just happened to his life. He's a fighter but far from the elite, a grunt with some experience. But what better way than to fall back to what he's familiar with, weapons and going after criminals and rebels. With the added challenges of monsters. This is my first Litrpg writing. It's a wild west fantasy setting with the MC taking a role as a gun-slinging bounty hunter in a world of magic and monsters. Hope you enjoy it. UPDATES AT 3PM EST ON MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS! Warning. The story has a slow start because I'm trying to keep my MC realistic. It takes him some time to adjust to his new surroundings, start to make some friends, and really get into the swing of it. I kind of think it's dumb when an isekai's MC manages to blink twice and suddenly adapts to their new world without any sort of struggle or learning period. So not doing that but don't worry Will may be confused and a bit unfocused at first but he'll grow into his own. Also using it to practice my digital artwork... which is far from par but improving. Keep an eye on author notes for maps and depictions of monsters and characters.
