《Stuck With Him: Kai Parker》18

"Riley?" Damon raised his eyebrows with confusion. "What are you doing here?"
I ignored him, pushing past into the house once he opened the door. "I need to sit down."
"Well you look horrible." I glared at Damon and he smiled, leading me into the living room and I sat on a sofa. Damon sat next to me a glass of bourbon in his hands.
"What is she doing here?" Elena wondered, raising a brow at me.
"Hello to you too, Elena."
Elena rolled her eyes. "Riley?" Stefan asked, coming into the room. "What are you doing here?"
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "Where's Kai?"
"We don't know, he absorbed the magic from Liz and snapped my neck." Damon spat annoyed. "Annoying weasel."
I snorted a laugh. "Because I need him."
"What for?" Stefan asked. "And what happened to you?"
"Well I was at the college, happily painting my nails." I showed them my nails.
"You chipped one." Elena pointed out.
I rolled my eyes. "I never noticed." I said with sarcasm leaking from my voice. Elena shot a me a fake smile. "And then I decided to go to the grill since I was hungry and bored. So I was happily making my way out of the place, when I spotted Kol and his siblings waltz in."
"Well they are after you." Stefan decided to warn. "You need to be careful."
I gave him the thumbs up. "I figured that Stefan." He chuckled and I huffed. "Besides I already knew, I was there when you all discussed how you were going let them kidnap me again." I smiled and winked. "Thanks for that guys."
"Anytime, dear." Damon winked back. "But no hard feelings."
I hummed. "Of course not, I mean I'd throw you under the bus any day." I paused. "Metaphorically or literally."
Damon laughed and poured himself a fresh drink. "How did you hear us?" Elena wondered, seeming confused. "Surly we would have heard your heartbeat."
"Magic." I waved my hands. "Liv taught me a cloaking spell."
"And I thought you were bad at magic." I showed Damon my middle finger and he just laughed.
"How are they even capable of wiping my memories?" I asked. "I'm a witch, doesn't that give me some sort of advantage?"
Stefan shrugged. "They're originals Riley." He said. "The most powerful in the world."
I just nodded. "So what do I do?"
"You could leave." Damon suggested with a half shrug.
Stefan nodded in agreement. "They won't rest until they have you."
"I'm touched." I put my hand over my heart. "Besides that doesn't seem too bad, since I'm thinking of leaving." I confessed, running my hand down my face.
"What's keeping you back then?" Elena wondered.
I peeked my eye out through my fingers. "Many things, Elena. I need to make sure Kai's safe before I leave."
"Awww...." Stefan said and I flipped him off. "That's cute, Riley."
"No it's disgusting." Damon said before looking at me. "And why do you need to know Riley?"
"Because we're still bonded. I would like to not suddenly die in my new life." I explained.
My phone went off and I jumped causing the vampires to laugh at me. "You guys are mean."
It was Liv.
"I won't be leaving, since you can hear anyway." I said, they all laughed. I answered the call. "Hey, Liv. Sorry for just le-"

"He's dead, Riley." She sobbed, her voice crackling as if she was crying.
All the vampire shot me a look of confusion, I shrugged. I thought, then touched my body for any injures.
"Liv, who is dead?" I asked, resting my arms on my knees as I sat up straighter. "Liv, talk to me."
"Riley......" Liv paused and cried. My heart ached for her loss. "Luke, he-he...Kai...he wanted to merge with Jo and-and Luke..."
"Liv?" I asked, not wanting her to finish the sentence.
"He wasn't stronger enough."
I felt tears brimming in my own eyes, but blinked them away. Luke, he was my friend. We joked and teased each other but it made our friendship work.
"Riley, Riley are you there?" Liv asked. "Riley?"
I nodded, even though she couldn't see me. "Yeah I'm here. Liv, where are you?"
"At Tyler's. I don't know what to do Riley." She paused and took a deep breath. "I just hate Kai. I want him dead."
My eyebrows shot up. "Liv you need to calm dow-"
"Don't you dare to tell me to calm down, Riley!" She snapped and my eyes widened. "He killed my twin brother, my best friend, my family right in front of me."
"But I'm sure he-"
"Riley stop defending him!" Liv interrupted. "You need to realise. Kai's a sociopath. He doesn't care for anyone, what makes you any different-"
I ended the call, putting my phone aside. "Riley-" I just put my hand up to Stefan and he stopped talking.
"I need to get some air." I said, standing up and making my way to the door.
"Riley, you need to stay here." Damon said, but I didn't respond. "We can help you leave Mystic Falls without Kol or anyone knowing."
I shot him a glare. "You were the one who brought me to him." Damon opened his mouth to speak but I shook my head. "Thanks, but no thanks." I waved my hand and the door opened. "I might see you later."
Before any of them could speak anymore to me, I left the house. It was cloudy and dark, so I knew rain would soon come.
Walking through the darken streets, I kicked the stones watching them fall into the puddles as the rain began to fall. I lifted my hood up, protecting my face and hair from the water.
I didn't know what I wanted. Part of me wanted to leave and not come back. Liv was right, sadly. Kai was a sociopath. He cared for no one.
Not even his family.
Or me.
I sighed, keeping my head down as I walked. I thought.
I screamed in frustrated, holding my head with annoyance. I was such an idiot. I felt tears of frustration escape my eyes.
I held my hands to my face for a few moments then dropped them and sighed. "What are you doing to me, Kai Parker?"

After what seemed like hours of just thinking. I decided that I would break the spell between Kai and I. Then I would leave Mystic Falls for good. I wanted to forget everything here and start over.
I was in my way back to the Salvatore's again because Liv was still upset and I decided the best thing I could give her was some space.
I was coming up onto the street when someone grabbed me from behind, I screamed with fear and I thrown over somebody's shoulder. I struggled and fought to kick them but they were much stronger and I recognised the scent.

"Just relax, kitten." Kol's voice made me sigh as I struggled.
Yet he was much stronger. I groaned in frustration. "Let me go." I whined. "Kol, I'm tired of this. Just let me go."
"Still I fighter I see." Elijah's voice made me turn away from Kol. Him, Rebekah and Klaus appeared from the shadows. Elijah adjudged his blazer. "My dear Raquel. I do believe that you owe me a shirt."
"What?" I asked then remembered. "Right, about that. Did you like that shirt?"
Elijah chuckled. "You have no need to fear." I let out a deep breath. "I have other shirts."
"Great so can I go now?" I smiled with hope, especially since Kol set me down. I fixed my clothes.
Rebekah laughed. "Raquel-"
"Can you please call me Riley?" I asked. "It is a better name, you have to admit."
"Fine Riley." Klaus said, with a smile. He stepped over to me, cupping my face. "Relax."
. I thought.
I began to utter a spell under my breath but Kol heard me and covered my mouth with his hand. I huffed and he kissed my cheek
"Riley please stay still." Klaus sighed, while I struggled in Kol's arms.
I kicked back, hitting Kol between his legs and his grip loosened. I took that opportunity but it didn't last since Rebekah grabbed me. "Calm the bloody hell down."
I scoffed, shaking my head. "Just leave me alone. Okay, the whole neck snapping thing was an accident. But I don't want to go to New Orleans."
"No deal." Klaus replied, I rolled my eyes.
"Just let me go. Why can't you guys move on? I'm sorry I don't remember anything." I looked at Kol. "I'm sorry."
His expression showed hurt. "Darling, you don't need to remember." He told me. "You just need to forget ."
"Him?"
"That witch."
"Kai? We're friends, I think anyway-"
"Ri?" An unexpected voice called from a far. All our heads snapped over to see. "Ri?"
My eyes widened. "Kai."
"He is cute." Rebekah shrugged. "But he's also really annoying."
"What should we do with him?" Kol asked. "Because I want to strangle him now."
"We cannot kill him, since it will harm Riley. But we can make him watch as his only love forget he ever existed." Elijah suggested.
My eyebrows shot up. "I thought you were the nice one." I said and he laughed. "Anyway, you're wrong because Kai doesn't love me."
"Yeah right." Kol muttered. Kai walked over to us, confusion on his face.
"Ri?" He asked me, he was making sure I knew him.
"Malachai." I replied, he grinned with relief in his eyes.
"Let her go, sweetheart." Kai winked at Rebekah. She sent him a deadly glare.
"Sorry, pretty boy. No can do." She replied, as Elijah and Kol held Kai.
"What the hell? Get off me." He frowned. "This is a good jacket."
Klaus walked over to me, cupping my face. "Now Riley." He said, his eyes looking into my soul. "You have never met Kai Parker-"
Klaus was interrupted by Kai, he was chanting something causing all the Originals to drop to their knees holding their heads.
Kai grabbed my hand and we lead me to his car. He hurried to start the car before speeding away. When we were far enough, I spoke. "Thanks."
"Being the leader of the Gemini coven has its perks." He told me, my face dropped remembering about Luke. "What's wrong Ri?"
"Liv told me. You killed him, didn't you?"
Kai nodded, regret not anywhere on his face. "Yeah, that's how the whole merge works. It was suppose to be Jo but he volunteered."
"Do you even care?"
"Truthfully?"
"Tell me the truth, Malachai."
"No, I don't regret it. I couldn't careless." Kai snapped, an honest look on his face.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked, shaking my head in disbelief.
Liv's words ran in my head.
Kai rolled his eyes. "Whatever, I just saved you from getting compelled from your crazed ex and I get no thanks?"
"I said thanks." I exclaimed, rolling my eyes. "And now I'm going home, well technically I'm leaving." I shrugged, walking from him.
Kai grabbed my wrist, making me stop and turn around. He had an expression of, what I guessed was, hurt on his face. "Leaving?"
I took my wrist back. "Yeah, I've been thinking, maybe I should, leave. Originals are hunting me, vampires are crawling everywhere. I need to get out here."
"When are you leaving?"
"I dunno, maybe in a few days. Why?" I decided to lighten the mood and half grinned. "Will you miss me, Malachai." I teased, patting his cheek.
He grinned, rolling his eyes and snaked his arm around my waist. "If anything you'll miss me, Ri."
I raised my eyebrows. "Yeah totally." I said sarcastically.
"See. You love me too much to not miss me." His smirk grew as he spoke each word. I laughed, rolling my eyes.
"Whatever, just don't go dying. I don't want to be living then suddenly dying in the shower or something."
Kai laughed. "No promises."
I chuckled and remembered where we were. "We should probably move from the middle of the road."
Kai hummed with a nod. "Yeah good idea." He let go of my waist and we began to walk.
"Where are we going?" Kai asked, whilst we walked.
I shrugged. "Somewhere, I don't want goes to the Salvatore's. Liv is pretty upset and you're the last person she'll want to see."
Kai nodded. "We could just go......." He trailed off, biting his lip as he thought.
"Go...."
He rolled his eyes. "I know. A house, I've been staying there for a while."
I shrugged. "Okay then, let's go."
++++
"How exactly did you find this house?" I asked, looking around the house. It was surprisingly clean.
"I didn't kill anyone, Ri. Have some respect for me." Kai replied, obviously noticing my expression. I glanced at him and he winked, shutting the door.
"Whatever, is there any food?" I couldn't remember the last time I ate.
"Maybe." Kai said. I didn't hesitate to go to the kitchen and raid the fridge.
"Kai, jam and pork grinds doesn't count as food." I huffed, shutting the fridge door.
He came in laughing. "It does to me." He said, he opened a cupboard and took out a bag of pork grinds.
"Don't you have anything else." I paused. "I dunno edible?"
He rolled his eyes. "I think, there's a half eaten sandwich in the oven."
"First gross. And second how?"
"My sandwich was cold so I wanted to heat it. But I think I forgot to take it out." He said, opening the oven door and pulling out the tray that had the burnt sandwich.
I cringed, it was pitch black and had some mould growing on it, it seemed liked it was a cheese sandwich.
"That's disgusting." I cringed, Kai hummed binning it along with the tray.
"Yeah. Why don't we just get takeout?" He suggested.
I clicked my fingers. "Good idea." I said, he laughed going on his phone.
"What do you want?"
"Don't care really."
"Chinese it is." While Kai ordered the food, I went upstairs to clean up. I was dirty, from the rain and everything else.
"Kai, I'm taking a shower." I shouted down to him.
"Cool, can I join?" He asked, I blushed a little.
"Haha." I replied, shaking my head as I went to the bathroom switching on the shower. I stripped from clothes and hopped inside.
When I was washed, I dried off and throw on my undergarments with a shirt from the drawers. It was plain white, it ended mid thigh on me.
I threw on my leggings again with it, not caring about the jumper. It was ruined. I hoped Liv wouldn't kill me. My phone was low on battery and I set it on the drawers.
I didn't wash my hair which I was glad for, so I redid it into a ponytail, as I went down to Kai. He was in the kitchen eating Chinese.
"Hello." He waved, his eyes traveling me.
I waved back. "Hey." I joined him on the island and took some food. "So now what?" I asked to fill the silence while we ate.
Kai looked confused. "What?"
"You're the leader of the coven." I said. "So what are you do now?"
He nodded. "Oh, I'm not sure." He admitted with a small shrug. "What about you, Ri? What are you planning to do?"
I shrugged. "Leave, when I get the chance. Maybe move to Miami or somewhere warm." I told him, staring down at my noodles.
"Good idea." Kai muttered and I just hummed.
. "So what actually happened? With the whole, Luke merging situation?"
"Oh, well its not really my fault. I was going to merge with Jo. He just volunteered. And since I had the magic from Liz, I was stronger."
I nodded, I didn't how to respond so I just said. "Alright then." I paused. "So, what are you?"
"What?"
I set down my finished food. "Are you a psychopath? Sociopath? Or just pretty odd?" I rested my head on my hands as I waited for answer.
"Sociopath, I guess."
I nodded. "So you don't care for anyone?" He shook his head, eating his noodles. "Even me? I thought we were friends, Malachai."
Kai shrugged. "We are, Ri. I guess you're the only person I really like."
"So you're not a sociopath."
"I am."
"But you're not suppose to care for anyone."
"I don't."
"So you don't care for me? Why did you bond us then?"
"So I wouldn't die."
"And because you care."
"No, I don't."
I nudged his arm, smiling. "You do. That's why you stopped me from getting compelled." I said, he didn't reply and I grinned, standing up to throw away my rubbish.
"Fine." I heard Kai say from behind me. I rolled my eyes and spun around to come face to face with him. Kai slid his arm around my waist to draw me closer to him.
"Fine what?"
Kai rolled his eyes. "Fine, I care about you."
"So you're not a sociopath."
"I am a little, I guess."
"But a sociopath doe-"
Kai cuts me off with a kiss, it seemed needy and lustful. I felt my toes curls and his hand took ahold the back of my neck while his other held my waist.
I thought. I ran my hands through his hair and kissed him back, trying to match his lips, that completely dominated mine.
