《Little Thief (Black Butler G/T)》Chapter Nine

Sebastian placed a teacup on Ciel's desk, glancing at the Young Earl as he tapped pages to even them. He'd left Kadence in his room, certain she'd be safe sleeping there. He also put what little trust he had in her so she wouldn't run away. "What did you have planned for the tiny being, my Lord?"
The corner of Ciel's lips curled into a smirk and he turned his head to see his butler. "Dusting shelves. Perhaps even washing dishes." Taking the teacup in his hand, he took a small sip of the brown liquid.
"Dishes would be near impossible for her. But you know that don't you? You did hear that male, yes? They will be after her." Sebastian stated, standing straight behind his Master with an eyebrow raised.
"Of course I heard him. But it is none of my concern, is it? As I said earlier if she were to go missing only you and I would know. The world will continue to spin without the useless girl." Waving his hand dismissively, Ciel placed the cup back onto the saucer.
"The world would continue to spin no matter what. This creature intrigues me. She's...fascinating to observe. I would very much like it if you would not make things difficult for her."
"My. Do you care about her Sebastian?" Ciel again smirked, adjusting the eyepatch on his face.
"No. You know I cannot care, nor feel love. I said she simply intrigues me. I'm curious about her." Resting his hand on his chin, Sebastian took a few moments to think. "She's the first being I've met who can be fully frightened of you yet still trust you."
"Really? She trusts you? Do you think she would if she knew what you were?" Ciel asked curiously as he again lifts the cup to his lips.

"No. I do not." Sebastian takes a silver pocket watch and looks at the time with a quiet sigh. He knows for a fact the Borrower would not trust him. "She's been asleep for an hour, perhaps I should wake her now. Excuse me, Young Master." Bowing at the waist, the tall butler turns his back to Ciel and exits the study, closing the heavy door behind him.
When he arrived back to his room, he took a moment to observe the tiny sleeping woman with curious eyes. She was curled into herself, her red colored hair hiding her pale face. Her chest rose and fell with each inaudible breath she took. She looked peaceful. It was almost a shame to wake her. Almost. "Kadence?" He spoke, making his voice loud enough to wake her.
Kadence had been sleeping soundly, dreaming of good food and a warm bed when a sharp voice that said her name snapped her awake. "I'm up!" She squeaked, bolting into a sitting position and staring at the raven-haired butler with frightened emerald eyes.
Approaching the frightened female, he placed his hand palm up near where she sat. "It is time to do your chores. I will lend you a hand if you need it, but only if you are truly working as hard as you can."
"Chores...r-right." Kadence audibly gulped and very slowly made her way into the man's palm. She placed one foot on the surface of his gloved fingers and nervously looked up at him. "S-Sebastian? He's not...going to hurt me right? H-He's not going to m-make me do things that could kill me?"
Sebastian hesitated as he looked at the hesitant female and heaved a loud sigh. "He wants you to try and wash the dishes. But he says nothing about how you can do it, or what dishes to wash, or even all of them."

"Y-You mean...f-find a loophole?" The redhead asked, uncertain why he seemed nice, or why he even seemed to want to help her. It gave her a little bit of comfort knowing she might have a friend in this butler.
"Naturally." His thin lips curled upward and he used his opposite hand to nudge her into his palms. "Now, let's hurry and get your chores done so that we can work on setting you up a room or something to accommodate your...special needs."
"That's a nice way of saying 'You're too tiny to fit anything so we need doll stuff.' It's okay, I get it." Kadence sighed heavily and carefully held onto one of the large fingers that held her steady, staying as far away from the edge of his hands as she could.
"Well if you want to put it that bluntly we can do that. Oh, by the way..." He trailed off, taking a few seconds to gather how he would put this. "There are four others here. Bard, Meyrin, Finnian, and Tanaka. The three are fools. Tanaka is a decent fellow. I will do what I can to keep you out of their sights because I'm afraid they may accidentally harm you."
"I-I know about them. Finny is really strong, Bard likes explosions, Meyrin breaks a lot of china dishes. You pick up a lot living in the walls." Looking around as the butler walked, the world was mostly a blur but she did her best to focus on his face.
Sebastian stopped in his tracks in the middle of the hall. What all could she know? Could she already know he's a demon and just doesn't want to say anything for fear of making him angry? "What all do you...pick up?" He slowly asked, casting a suspicious glance down at her.
"Oh! Not a lot. Names, small details. Dust." Kadence softly giggled, but when he didn't look amused she cleared her throat and lowered her head with another nervous laugh.
Perhaps she didn't know too much. That's good. He began to walk down the stairs that lead to the bottom floor. He wanted to get her things done and over with so, Ciel didn't have a reason to yell at him or the Borrower. "I see. No more eavesdropping. Learning certain things could put you in danger. Now, straighten your apron and roll up your sleeves. It's time to start the dishes."
Kadence took a deep breath through her nose and nodded her head in a determined fashion. "I'm ready."

The Waterborne - Blasphemous Series
Gamelit / LITRPG Elements are common in this novel. Some say a single action can't change anything. But what if you add another action? And another one? At one point, you would have to agree that a single action can change a person's life. When a young woman is plagued by a mental illness, only a benevolent god can give her a deal worth taking. Living again in another world where underwater monsters, rebellious factions and ancient artefacts are common place, we will have to see, just how much a single action can change things. Updated M - W - S (During the editing / rewriting process, updates are postponed.) This novel is a part of the Blasphemous Series, which can be read in any order, I recommend new readers start with this novel.

Words I Left Unsaid
"Like a treasure map in a bottle, We were slowly drifting apart, Mother Nature sailing our purpose out to sea, The more I got to know you, I realised how much of a hoax your devotion was, Almost as fake as the smile I paint across my shattered face."This collection of poetry releases trauma in the form of expression - mainly the words I could never build up the courage to say. Most of these poems present conflict of the mind and allude to mental health struggles, which may be relatable to a certain community of people.Ranks -#3 in poem#3 in poembook#8 in poetry collection #7 in sadpoems#6 in poemcollection #7 in wisdom #15 in poetic
