(Y/N) choked on the sugary beverage she had been sipping on, some of the pink liquid dribbling down her chin.
There was no way what Vasco had just said was true.
Vasco, as an attempt to save her from choking, roughly slapped her back. Which only caused her to lurch forward and to cough harder.
"Are you okay? You're not choking, are you? I don't know how to do CPR." He said nervously, watching as the girl straightened herself again and use her sleeve to wipe her face.
She looked up at him with wide eyes. "You really don't know how to ride a bike?" She whispered.
How could a city kid survive without knowing how to ride a bike?It was her main mode of transportation, she had even came here to eat lunch with him on her bike.
Vasco tilted his head to the side, "Why are we whispering?" He whispered back. To him, this was no big deal, he didn't think he would get such a reaction when he told her he couldn't ride a bike.
"I didn't think you'd want anyone to hear."
Vasco looked away from (Y/N) and around the mostly empty parking lot they were sitting in. 'Who would hear? Is she seeing things?'
"(Y/N), are you feeling okay?"
The girl hummed in response then turned to glare at the cheap noodles she had bought and began to eat again.
Vasco gave her a confused look, 'What did the ramen do to her?'. He shrugged it off and picked up his phone, being especially careful so he doesn't crack his new screen.
He was trying to scroll through pictures of puppies in peace, but in the corner of his eye he kept seeing (Y/N) glance at him. Every time Vasco caught her looking, she immediately turned away and aggressively shoved another bite into her mouth.
After a few minutes of (Y/N) angrily chewing and Vasco scrolling through pictures of dogs, (Y/N) had enough.
She placed the off brand cup of noodles on the concrete, careful not to spill any, and got up from her spot on the ground to stand in front of Vasco.
"Get up." She said.
...
'She's not trying to fight, is she?'
(Y/N) frowned at Vasco's lack of response and put her hand out to pull him up.

Vasco frowned as well, still confused. Instead of using (Y/N)'s hand to pull himself up as she had intended for him to do, he gently took her hand into his own.
"(Y/N), I won't fight you." He said, completely serious.
(Y/N)'s face went blank, trying to process what had just happened. When she finally did, her face might as well have been set on fire and she ripped her hand out of Vasco's grip.
"Vasco, no. That's not what I wanted you to get up for." She tried to explain, but Vasco interrupted.
"Then what was it? You sure looked like you wanted to fight." He said suspiciously. While he never wanted to hit (Y/N), he would throw hands if he really had to.
"I was gonna help you learn how to ride a bike. You'd have to stand up in order to do that." She sighed.
Vasco still eyes her suspiciously. 'Beautiful faces are too easily trusted.' "You sure?"
(Y/N) sighed and looked up at the sky, mentally shaking her fist at god. Vasco's lucky he's pretty.
"Never mind." She went to sit back down, but before she could,
"Wait, (Y/N)."
She turned her face to look at him. "Vasco, I'm not trying to f-"
"I want to learn how to ride a bike."
It was (Y/N)'s turn to be suspicious now, but when she saw the determined glint in Vasco's eyes, her face lit up like a christmas tree.
"Let's do it."

After (Y/N) had taught Vasco how to properly sit on a bike, she realized this probably wasn't the greatest idea.
It took 45 minutes to get him to start pedaling on his own, and she has to keep herself from wincing every time he almost falls.
She forces a smile when he shakily rides towards her, biting the inside of her cheek every time he swerves.
Vasco stopped in front of her with a huge smile.
"This is so much fun, (Y/N)!"
She had to keep herself from melting into a puddle. While her bike was in danger every moment that Vasco was sitting on it, his excited reactions were well worth any repairs she would have to make.
So instead of allowing herself to become a pile of human jello on the pavement, she let a sweet smile twitch onto her face.
"It is. You've been missing out."
Even though Vasco had already been stationary, the shock of (Y/N) sending an affectionate expression in his direction shocked him to the point that his balance was affected.
If he had been standing, he would have just stumbled a bit and easily recover. But no, he was on a bike.

(Y/N)'s bike.
Which he took down with him.
The girl's eyes became the size of dinner plates as she watched in slow motion as Vasco fell to the side, using her bike as an unfortunate cushion.
She couldn't hold back her wince this time.
"My bike!" She hissed.
Vasco looked up at her from the ground with a deadpan expression. He almost died, and she was worried about a scrappy old bike.
She crouched in front of him and he smiled, thinking she was coming to tend to the scrapes he had gotten on his hands from when he clumsily caught himself.
His smile was wiped off his face when (Y/N) didn't start cooing over him, but instead swatted at his legs to unwrap them from her precious bike.
As soon as she was able to, she took the bike from under Vasco and frantically looked over it, making sure nothing was broken.
"(Y/N)..." Vasco called, still sitting abandoned on the cement.
"What?" She answered distractedly, using her hands to turn the pedals to make sure they still functioned properly
'I hope I didn't break it... (Y/N) would be so upset.' He sniffed, "Is the bike okay?".
She finally looked up from the bike and to Vasco, seemingly back to her senses.
"Uh, Yeah." She seemed to just now notice that Vasco still hasn't gotten up. "Are you okay?"
Instead of answering, Vasco held his scraped palms towards (Y/N) so she could see.
The girl hissed, getting your palms cut sucked.
"Oof, that's gotta hurt."
Vasco nodded, still looking at his hands. 'Should I call Jace? He said to call if I ever got hurt.'
(Y/N) stood a small distance away, watching Vasco basically glare at his hands as he tried to come up with a course of action.
"Do you want a bandaid?" She asked.
He continued to stare at his hands.
"Vasco."
No answer.
"Vasco!"
He jumped and looked up at (Y/N) with wide eyes. It wasn't often that she raised her voice.
"What?"
"I asked if you wanted a bandaid."
Vasco looked at his palms one last time before he looked back at (Y/N). "Yes please."
'I guess I don't have to call Jace.'
"Okay, gimme a second." She went back to retrieve her backpack and crouched as she dug through it. A few seconds later she pulled out a small box which she took two bandaids out of.
She jogged back to Vasco and sat in front of him, placing the small packages on top of her legs and grabbing Vasco's hand, which made him jump a bit. He wasn't used to people who weren't Jace grabbing him when they weren't trying to fight.
She was running off of muscle memory as she patched him up, having done this for her brother countless times after teaching him to ride a bike as well.
Everything was going fine, besides Vasco being startled at how easily she grabbed his hand, until after she had put the bandaid on.
And placed a kiss over the bandaid.
Both froze in in place with equally wide eyes.
(Y/N)'s face began to burn before Vasco's did, and she stumbled back and fell on her bum.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. That was out of habit I didn't mean to, it's just-"
Vasco wasn't able to focus on (Y/N)'s panicked rambling, though it would be an interesting thing to see from the usually collected girl.
He was back to staring at his hand, trying to burn the image of (Y/N) kissing his hand into his head.
He felt his stomach begin to flutter and his face felt way too hot. 'I think I'm sick. But I was fine earlier... Did (Y/N) get me sick? She seemed fine too..'
He tried to voice his concerns, but for some strange reason his voice was all choked up, probably because of his stomach. So all he was able to croak out was
"Why?"
(Y/N) stopped trying to explain herself and looked to Vasco.
"What?"
It was Vasco's turn to attempt to explain himself.
"When you... uh... when kiss... hand..yeah. Why?"
"I used to put bandaids on my little brother when he got scrapes and he always said it wouldn't feel better until I kissed it so itbecameahabitsoIkissedyourhand."
Vasco took a few seconds to process the rushed jumble of words that fell from (Y/N)'s mouth.
'It's supposed to make you feel better?'
He looked to his hand again, and realized that the butterflies swarming in his stomach had distracted him from the stinging on his palms.
He looked back to (Y/N), who was pressing her lips together as she waited from him to say something.
He focused on her lips a bit too much to be having totally platonic thoughts, and decided he wouldn't mind feeling them again. He'll have to make sure he hits his face on a pole next time. On a bike that wasn't (Y/N)'s, of course.
"Your brother is right. Can you do that to my other hand too?"

8 197Zeke Herald, Goblin Slayer
Zeke wakes up inside a small cavemouth, no memories or direction, just the will to live. Also, he's smack dab in the middle of a forest that's teeming with ugly little goblins. The only good goblin is one with a sword sticking out of it, as my father used to say. I tried to incorperate LitRPG elements. I'm only recently introduced to the genre, but I find it really fasinating! So intrigued I even started writing a little story expressing my joy of all things numerical! This story has a focus on hardwork and deliberate progression, no magical deus ex machinas here sorry.
8 104Exploit
Ever since I was a little boy I loved rpg's. I loved all kinds, tabletop, pc, console, it didn't matter, I wanted to live a life in a magical fantasy world. Little did I know my dream would come true.
8 202Branch Adventurers Guild [Dropped]
My life is but a code waiting to be decoded. With numbers and letters, I will protect earth with my creation...I will tame those that wish to oppose me, destroy those that hurt my family and erase anyone who angers me! - Dropped due to losing interest in this novel, I added too many things without any substance to support it. Might update in the future but from now, I will work on a new novel.
8 136Beyond the Legacy
The protagonist wakes up in a plain of slimes. Determined to make it worth his while, he explores the world he is in. . A.N.: I'm going for Attila the Hun(minus his campaigns). Wish me luck! This is a literature RPG, aimed at action, lore, and everything else. The plot is a work in progress and aims at being of proper quality. The details will build up to that effect.

Because of the desire to eliminate the proclaimed heretics, the world was plunged into chaos and war. Those born to lead the children of the darkness were originally kind hearted souls. Their sole desire was to live in order to worship their mother and goddess. When the thought of war arose, they were the first to reject it.
