"Jones Studio, how can I help you?" I said answering the phone.

"You can help explain to me how you haven't jumped Chris yet." Whitney's voice said filling my ear. I imagined her sitting at the desk by my office smiling her mischievous smile knowing she was annoying me.

"Whit, I'm working." I warned but she knew I was smiling from the other side.

"Okay, okay, but he's got to be hot. His voice is hot. I talked to him on the phone and I know he's hot." She told me, her words came at me at a million miles an hour.

"Is this all you had to call about?"

"No. Actually Sony wants to set a meeting with you."

"What! No!" I yelled shocked. The deal could be huge for us. It could be one that really helps set my company in further motion. If we could sign one deal with Sony, it could lead to hundreds more.

"Yeah, but there is a problem. Their representative can only meet sometime next week. We can have Macy meet with them."

"I want to meet with them. Sony is huge and I want to make sure this deal is in the bag."

"That's why I called you."

"How's the construction manager search going?"

"Well considering we put the application up five days ago, not very well."

"See if you can book me a flight this time this week."

"Okay Superwoman. But seriously how's Chris."

"He's his normal handsome happy person. It's nice to have friend down here."

"Yeah, I've heard a lot of good things about friends with benefits."

"No just friends. 100% Platonic."

"Okay, but you really think he doesn't like you like that?"

"I'm pretty positive Whit."

"Okay" She sang in a tone telling me she doesn't believe me.

"Anything fun down there?" Whitney questioned. I could picture her now with the phone between her ear and shoulder as she inspected her nails, or Facebook.

"I went shopping a little, didn't really see anything I couldn't live without. Well I did see a dress that really caught my eye, but it's to much. I wouldn't have anywhere to wear it too. It just didn't seem to be worth all that effort."

"Did you try it on?"

"No"

"Well then how do you know it's not worth it. Maybe it looks amazing on you!"

"I don't know, I don't need it."

"But you want it."

"Yeah, so. Wants and needs are different things Whit. I'm starting to feel like this conversation is about something different."

"No, I have no idea why you would think that Lucy. Oh, how's your mom and Cate?"

"My mom is doing great. Cate not so much. She's having a hard time with Alec. Oh by the way I talked to Crystal the other night and she says Hi."

"Alec is kind of a dick first off. And secondly I need to call Crystal. We need to all get together sometime. I got you a flight back here tomorrow. It's the cheapest option, you'll spend the weekend home, and then that Monday is the meeting I'll schedule. You'll have a flight back New Mexico Tuesday."

"You're amazing Whit."

"Yeah, tell Trevor that." She mentioned with biting sarcasm. Trevor is Whitney's boyfriend who can't seem to do anything right in her eyes.

"What did he do this time?"

"How much time do I have?" Whitney tends to go on with these stories so, I have to give her a time frame or else I'll listening to her stories for a couple hours.

"Five minutes"

"Damn, okay. You'll get the short version."

"I don't get that version every time?"

"You already know that you don't get the short version every time." Whitney said making me laugh. I listened to Whitney's story and tried not to laugh at some of the parts, but she really just loves to yell at this poor guy. It's a weird relationship, but they love each other at the end of the day.

After I hung up with Whitney, I decided I need to talk to the directors on what my leave would mean for the set. I walked towards the opposite end of the set, where filming was happening. I usually don't go to this side of the set very often. But I needed to talk to the Russo brothers. I also need to cancel on Chris as well.

"Hey I need to talk to you about something, but I need to talk to Joe and Anthony right now. Where are they?" I asked Chris since he was the first person I recognized on the set.

"They're over there. Is everything okay?" Chris pointed to the right at the two directors. He had a coffee in hand and he was dressed in a tight shirt and pants.

"Yeah, everything's fine. There's just been a change in plans." I calmly stated setting a hand on his arm. I quickly turned to get a chance to talk to the directors.

"Ms. Jones, how are you? This set looks amazing we're so happy with it." One of the Russo brothers complimented.

"That is so wonderful to hear. My team is finishing up the next one. I will be away next weekend, but there will be someone in my place." I began explaining. We had s conversation on the progress of the set and plans for the weekend that I was away for.

"Hey, okay. I'm going back home for a couple days." I told Chris after talking to the directors.

"Oh really, I didn't know that."

"Me neither, not till this morning. You gonna miss me." I joked shoving his arm a bit. He just smiled wider and I smiled with him. Looking into his eyes, I realize I'm going to miss him a lot. He looked as if he was about to say something before he was interrupted.

"Hey Chris got himself a girl?!" A loud voice yelled from across the room, popping the little bubble Chris and I lived in for a moment. I smiled wider and turned around to see Anthony Mackie make his way over to us.

"And who might this be?" He said shaking my hand and smiling.

"Lucy Jones." I replied my face flushed a little, but I tried to keep my calm and smile.

"Anthony Mackie. And this man is Sebastian Stan." He said introducing him and Sebastian. Of course I knew their names, but it wasn't the time for freak outs. Chris was laughing at something they said and I took a look at all of them. All I can say is they all look hotter in person.

"When's your flight?" Chris asked me

"Tomorrow. I know, I'm going to have to cancel on you."

"How long are you leaving for?"

"I'll be back on Tuesday. I need to find someone to take my place."

"You work here?" Anthony Mackie asked me.

"She builds the sets."

"Oh damn"

"Are you good for dinner tonight?" Chris quietly asked me like it was our secret.

"Yeah, I'll be working here for a while, so once you get some free time text me" I answered back smiling a little to widely as Sebastian, Anthony just stood there grinning at Chris and I.

I headed back to my side of the set and talked to my crew. I discussed with one of them personally to give them the job as construction manager for the week as a tester to see if they could permanently get the job. The rest of the day I went between watching over the construction of a set and creating a presentation for Sony.

At the end of the day most of my staff had gone back to their hotels and I was sitting in my office with Whitney on Skype. I usually just run random stuff through her, so I don't talk to myself more than I already do. Sometimes she helps me come up with good ideas for things like this.

"Okay, so I'll say something along the lines of, we have great designers and construction staff in this company. Blah Blah Blah."

"Make sure you talk about who you've already signed with. It's impressive that Marvel is into you."

"Agreed. Okay so after the ass kissing, I'll talk about numbers."

"I think it's good you're kissing ass before the numbers. Smart move. But still numbers are gross, I'm so glad I don't do finance. God, make sure the numbers at least look pretty."

"What do you mean by pretty?"

"Eye pleasing Lucy. You want Sony to sign, you've got to make everything visually appealing. Sony doesn't fu-"

"How am I supposed to make numbers look pretty? I don't think I can design a prettier 1. Whit..." I whined interrupting Whitney. I sat back in my chair frustrated and stressed. I glanced up from my computer screen to see Chris standing there leaning on the door way trying not to laugh at the conversations.

"How long have you been standing there!"

"Is that Chris! I wanna-" Whitney's voice was cut off by me muting her on the computer, which happens to be a pet peeve of her. So, I'll get chewed out for that later.

"Long enough." He stated trying to pull himself together.

"That was an important business meeting mister." I told him joking. I un-mute Whitney who was rambling on about how I shouldn't have muted her.

"I can't believe you muted me! I would never do that do you. You remind me of Trevor! Oh that son of a bitch! God love him, I know I sadly do! But still Lucy Cl-"

"Whitney! Shut up! Okay calm down, do you want to meet Chris?" I offered and just like that I could see she forgave me. I looked at Chris seeing if it was okay and he nodded. I turned the computer to face him and he gave a charming smile and wave.

"Hi Whitney!"

"Hi Chris. Nice to meet you. I hate to sound rude but, Lucy turn me back around please." Whitney orders using her calm and collected voice which meant when I turn her around she'll be nothing like that.

"Lucy turn down the volume I have something to tell you." She requested and I rolled my eyes and looked over at Chris who just laughed. I did as she said and I was sure my face turns bright red as she told me what she thought of Chris. Chris noticed and he just soaked it up like a comedy. I wanted to die from embarrassment. My face was bright red when I told Whitney bye.

"That was Whitney, my best friend." I told trying to ignore my embarrassment.

"She's a handful." Chris joked, "She seems great though."

"Oh you have no idea." I agreed getting up from the desk and we left for dinner together.
