《His Midnight Angel》Chapter 13

(Alexandra's POV)
I know pain.
I have felt it through every crack and crevice of my body. Mental and physical. I remember the depression I went through. It was like I was in a hole and I couldn't get out. I was always wondering, why? Why would a father do that to his daughter? Josh only hit me once or twice when I was bad. But the verbal abuse was terrible. People often told me I wasn't good enough. Or that I was nothing, or I should go die because I wasn't worth the extra money.
But I came out. And when I did I felt as if a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. But I had changed. I was molded into something else. I threw myself into my study's. Both of self defense and to get my degree. I was going to school to be a music director for movies. Jessie a cosmetologist. And Margo a graphics art designer. I didn't take shit. I was fed up with it.
So when Otto said "she can't train us, she's a girl." I knew anger was evident in my face and eyes. Lord help the man that told me I couldn't do something.
"Last I checked, a) 22 of your pack members are dead, b) your head warrior is a girl. And c) you will die if you don't get help." Said Daniel.
"She is your best shot." Said Margo with a smirk on her face. I wanted to slap it off.
"I will fight my own battles." I growled out.
"Very well let's see what you can do." He phased in to his brown wolf. I being the civilized person I am didn't phase at all.
I noticed that he had a slight limp. He was putting all his weight on his front legs. I used this to my advantage. He lunged at me. I dodged him. I thought of all the times he hurt me.

He demoted me.
He abused me.
But no more.
When he lunged at me again I didn't dodge instead I reached my hand out and wrapped it around his snout. I yanked him forward. He was strong. When he didn't move. I kicked his injured leg. He crumpled forward. I climbed on top of him. There is a pressure point just behind the ear. I pushed on it. I held my position until he started whimpering.
"Do you submit?" I asked.
"He says 'yes, but only because of my legs' you can get up now." Said Jack. Not once did I let my guard down. I got off of him.
He stood there awkwardly.
"You can shift you know." Said Josh to Otto. He waited as if he were in a conversation. "ohhh," said Jack.
"Let's go guys." Said Josh. "He shredded the only clothes he had so...yeah." He explained. He walked forward, we followed. It was as simple as that.
- said Daniel.
-- I replied
-?- Michael said stiffly through the link
-- I said sadly.
said Daniel. I blocked Michael out of the link. I didn't want him to kill someone.
didn't want to go any further than that.
-.- the thought brought a small smile to my face. But, I couldn't do that. The thought of hundreds of people dead. Because of me. The very thought sent my stomach rolling.
.- I cut the conversation off. I hadn't realized that we were at the house.
"Alright...girls will bunk together. And so will the boys." He said. He looked so awkward. He wouldn't stop staring at Jessie. It was starting to piss me off.
"Ok is there something on her teeth?" I said rudely.
He looked at me shocked. "N-no" did he just stutter?

"Then stop staring like a puppy." I said in annoyance.
I walked in. I had to clean these cabins for visitors so I knew this place like the back of my hand.
There was a hallway leading to the kitchen, and dinning room. There were only two rooms. We all called dibs on our rooms. I was wiped out. When I saw that bed I collapsed, I didn't want deal with the questions.
Some times when we dream. We get a glimpse of the future. Or what is to come.
Falling. That's all I was doing. Falling through the world like a fish moves through water. When I landed I was really confused as to why I was in a field. All around me dead bodies lay. There blood running like a river. Some had stomach wounds others had there heads cut off.
"What you are seeing is the battle of the fallen." Said a voice behind me. I turned around and there was a girl.
She was an exact replica of me.
The only difference was that she had white hair. Every thing else was the same. Right down to the Pale skin and the silver eyes.
"The what?" I asked.
"You have wings." It wasn't a question.
"So do you?" I said uncertainty coating my voice.
"Come let's go for a ride." Her wings extended so did mine. We vaulted up. It was a close race. But still. She won.
We came to rest on a small cliff.
"Allow me to introduce myself, I am Alexandra Da' Luca, I come from Italy. I was born 1534. I am you and you are me."
What the...
"That's not pos-"
"Possible. Listen I don't have much time. They are coming for you. They can smell your blood now as it runs through your veins."
"Who?" I said on full alert.
"You'll learn soon enough. There are two men that wish to do this world harm they have something you need. Go get it."
"Where is it. What is it?"
"That's for you to find out."
I sat bolt right in the bed.
"Alex thank the lord!" Said a voice. I turned to see Jessie breathing a sigh of relief.
"What is it?" I asked
"Alex do you know what time it is?"
I looked out the window. It looked like it was maybe noon.
"Noon?"
"The date?"
"Yeah the second. because we came on the first."
"No Alex it's not the second. It's the fourth of October. We came on the first of October. Alex you've been asleep for three days."

The Book of Rune
If you like moderately well-researched semi-medieval military logistics with some fantasy twists, and also conspiracy, and exploration, and violence, and maybe a dash of road movie, hey, Ruen just might be your thing. Plot-wise, basically there's a guy who got fired by Death, a kid with pyrotechnic tendencies, and a slave general who wouldn't mind retiring but ended up on a mass suicide mission. If you were looking for a less TL;DR version, a guy who got fired by Death meets a kid with pyrotechnic tendencies, and they try to get the guy un-fired while also trying to come to terms with death together (ooohhhh, look, I'm deep). Meanwhile a slave general does something stupid and ends up being sent on a suicide mission, and he tries to wreak havoc and save lives at the same time. The threads come together, I swear. This is a rough draft of a fantasy semi-book that I've had in the back of my head for some time. I've written a variety of short stories set in the world over the past three years, and I finally kicked myself into writing the actual story. Very much a slow work in progress. Occasional violence (okay, well, maybe more than occasional), occasional foul language.

30 years have passed since first contact. Earth has now been accepted into the galactic community, is expanding its territory to other planets, and has begun to adopt the myriad advanced technologies found throughout the Milky Way Galaxy. But as the least advanced race in the galaxy, the Earthians are struggling to carve a niche for themselves, made all the more difficult by the fact that they are the only race in the entire galaxy incapable of developing supernatural powers. Until recently. Few know how or why, but small groups of Earthians have begun to display superhuman abilities — and the militaries of the galaxy have begun to display interest in them. Combined with the rise of an evil thought to have been vanquished two decades ago, these superpowered Earthians are forced to choose between the value of their own lives… and the value of the entire galaxy. Part 1: Chosen Few — A mundane visit to the local science museum starts off a series of worrying events for Austin Travis and his friends. They would like nothing more than to continue living their lives as they have, but the universe seems to have other plans… Part 2: Chosen Elite — CSF-1 and the Eximius Vir return to normal military operation and discover a clue to finding powerful ancient technology. However, they aren’t the only ones to discover this clue, and soon find themselves in a race against time to prevent the technology from falling into the wrong hands… Part 3: Chosen Hidden — As the summer comes to an end, Pierce Bradley and his friend prepare for their last few days studying abroad on an alien planet. Pierce would like nothing more than to return home and flaunt his new experiences in front of his friends and classmates, but the universe seems to have other plans… Chosen and its three parts begin the Key Saga, a new novel series that takes place 20 years after Rise — which tells the tale of the aforementioned evil. Reading Rise is not a prerequisite for reading Chosen, but it will help to understand the setting and the various conflicts within. Character art on cover by @quassihollic on twitter.
