《You're Not My Boss // Jaehyun Mafia FF》➸ CHP 3

"Where the hell did you get those from?", 'Jaehyun' glanced at me.
"Dad had them", I replied. My voice was shaky as I spoke to him. "Don't talk to me, you're just another killer like the rest of them".
The file folder that I held in my hands had the profiles of a mafia called "NCT 127". The person who'd been hired to watch me was a cold hearted killer and my dad knew it. I got my answers, but they weren't what I expected.
Jaehyun took a step towards me, "Can I see it?"
I pulled my hand gun out, "I said don't talk to me. This is all set up and you're here to kill me, aren't you?"
Miyong just stood there with her hands cupped over her mouth the whole time.
"Well if you aren't lying and your dad actually does have a copy of some NCT files, then you weren't the only one who was lied to"
He took another slow step towards me.
I raised my gun.
"Please just let me see the files", he said.
"No."
"Look, you and I both could be in a lot of trouble"
"You're stalling", I said, "I know why you're here"
"I'm not here for the same reason anymore. Those files make everything different"
He put his gun on the ground. "Please, Hyuna", he said.
I stared at him and put my gun back at my side as well. "Wait", I said, "Let me look through all the files first"
I opened the folder. As I already knew, Jaehyun's file was on the top, but I read through all the other members' profiles as well. They were all dangerous, and it made me more uncomfortable with Jaehyun in the room, knowing that we worked alongside these kind of people.
At the bottom of the folder, there was a duplicate of Jaehyun's profile with a big red stamp on it.
"Looks like I'm not the only 'wanted' one, either"
He looked at me, "What are you talking about?"

"I'll let you look through the folder", I sighed, "But if you make one wrong move, I'll kill you. And you know I can."
I picked up his gun and put it on the desk next to me. There were still two other file folders for me to look through.
Jaehyun, Miyoung and I all stood quietly in the room as we looked through all of my father's secrets.
When Jaehyun finished reading, he let out a sigh, "You're father was smart with setting this whole thing, wasn't he?"
"He's a liar.", I said. Nothing made sense to me that night.
"Well, what's in those files?"
"I don't know.", I said, "It has stuff about my mom and I, but I don't understand any of it"
Miyoung walked next to me and tried to read through the old documents. She didn't understand anything either.
"Want me to look at them?", Jaehyun asked.
"Just because my dad is after the two of us doesn't mean I trust you all of a sudden. You're still a murderer."
"Hyuna, do you want damn answers or not?", I said. I looked up at him and his serious face.
"Fine", I said. My voice was closer to a whisper. I slowly handed the two files to Jaehyun.
As he began reading through everything, I saw Miyoung rest her hand on her gun. She was just as ready to kill Jaehyun as I was.
"Do you want the bad news or the bad news?", Jaehyun asked after a few minutes.
"Lets start with the bad news", Miyoung said.
"Shut up you two", I snapped.
"Well...", Jaehyun started, "It looked like your dad injected you with ignolsium when you were four"
That reminded me of the "experiments" those two men were talking about on the night they broke in. Things started to make a little sense now.
"O-okay?", I said, "What does that mean?"
"Well from what I understand, people probably think those injections worked and so they want you for what those chemicals were supposed to do to you"

"And what were they supposed to do to me?"
"Doesn't matter. You're still alive and you're normal, so they didn't work. People are still after you for it, though"
I opened my mouth to ask another question, but I couldn't find any words.
"What about my mom", I asked, "What do those documents say about her?"
"She was poisoned.", Jaehyun replied. He almost looked bored as he put the files back on the desk.
"W-what? That's impossible. She died because of an infection in her arm"
"Wrong. She died because your father gave her small doses of antifreeze."
"How did he not get caught for that?"
"Because your dad has the best lawyers in Korea"
I stood there with wide eyes, trying my hardest to process everything.
"You're lying", I held my breath, "You're lying, Jaehyun!". I pulled my gun out and aimed at his chest.
"Jung Jaehyun, tell me that this is all a lie", I lowered my voice and stared at him.
"I can't. That's what the documents said. Now are you gonna shoot me or not?"
I needed to get a hold of myself. "N-no", I stammered, "S-sorry, I'm just confused"
The three of us stood there without saying anything. There was too much for my brain to process. My father was a liar and he was willing to let people kidnap or even kill me. He already did it to my mother.
"Miyoung?", I turned to the one person I had in my life that I could still trust.
"Yeah?"
"Its not safe for you to be here anymore."
"What does that mean?"
"Just...Can you do me favor and at least go to back to your house before dark?"
"Of course, Hyuna", Miyoung said. She always understood me well, and never gave me too much trouble. "But what would I tell your dad if he got suspicious?"
"If you tell him that you're scared of the mafias, he'd believe you."
Miyoung nodded. I turned back to Jaehyun, "Are you still going to kill me?", I asked him.
"I wasn't hired to kill you in the first place"
"Well are you going to hurt me or kidnap me?"
"No."
"So what are you going to do?"
The room went quiet again.
"Hyuna...", Jaehyun cleared his throat, "We need to get you out of here"
"Huh?"
"We'll pretend to keep doing our thing for the next few days, but we need to get you as far away from your dad and the mafias as we can"
"B-but-"
"Don't argue with me. Miyoung will be fine, but you won't be safe here"
"How do I know this isn't set up?"
"Shouldn't the documents have told you enough?"
I guess Jaehyun was kind of right. This all seemed to be pretty genuine.
"Look, I'll follow you're lead for now, but I'm not trusting anyone but myself and Miyoung. You'll be a dead man if you pull any shit on me"
He nodded.
"And we're not leaving without these", I pointed to the files, "I want my dad to pay for everything."
I just saw Jaehyun and Miyong's moonlit faces nod in the dark.
"But for now, I'll put them back so that we can play dumb.". I put them back into the metal box, just as they were put in there before.
"Let's get out of here guys", I said. Miyoung picked Jaehyun's gun up from my dad's desk and held it at her side.
"Miyoung", I said calmly, "I'm calling a taxi for you to get home tonight. I'd advise you not come to the house tomorrow, either."
She nodded again.
I turned to Jaehyun, "I'm giving you a little trust on this...so don't fucken blow it". I shoved his gun into his chest.
"I'll try"
