"And what about his love life?"
A knock on the door pulled me out of my daydreaming.
I hated my body. The scares, the bruises, the memories. It was all too much but I couldn't help looking at my body in disgust.
Preparing for the worse, I opened the door and there stood a woman, older yet shorter than me in a black and white uniform. She was a maid with flour on her apron. "Miss, breakfast begins in ten minutes on the second floor. Luis told me to remind you since he's busy preparing," the blonde politely told me. She nodded her head before walking off back to the elevator.
I shut the door and walked back inside, flopping down on the bed. No way I was going to that stupid fancy breakfast. I'm sure I can just drink out of the tap if I'm about to die of hydration and I've starved myself a lot before.
"You need to eat, I can't heal without you healing first," Alaska reminded me. I didn't shift and she wasn't hurt but she did take a lot of my pain. When I went unconscious, she absorbed all my pain. That wasn't enough though since I was still in shitty pain but I'd be worse without her.
And I'd be a terrible person if I don't help her recover. Groaning when I realized I was also hungry, I tugged on the most not revealing and not noticeable thing I could find. That happened to be a turtle neck and long fitted pants that didn't hurt the stab wounds on my legs too much. They'll probably take another day to heal over brand new.
Didn't need anyone asking about my scars.
I frowned when I realized that I would usually wear a cropped top and high waisted shorts with combat boots but here I am with slippers. Deciding I didn't want to stay in my misery, I opened my door and walked towards the elevator.
After pressing the button to the second floor, it wasn't hard to find the breakfast hall. I stood near the door, scanning everyone who looked so relax and happy chatting. My eyes slightly widened when I spotted the blue-haired boy from last night who intruded in my bedroom. He was also looking at me and his cheeks reddened in embarrassment.

He hesitated at first but began to move his feet, walking over to me. I stood still even when he was standing in front of me.
"I wanted to apologize for last night. I had a few shots and mistook the door, I got locked out a couple of times so I learned how to unlock doors without breaking it, ignore that. I'll never use that other than to get into my room but I'm truly sorry," he surprised me by saying.
Due to past experiences, I did think he was a creep but now, I think he convinced me that he was genuinely sorry and didn't mean it. I just hoped he wasn't lying. I can't tell when people are lying anymore. "I guess you're off the hook. Just knock or something," I gave in, not really knowing what to say after that. "Awesome! I'm Bradey, by the way," he introduced and held out his right hand for me to shake.
Hesitantly, I shook his hand. "Nice to meet you smurf, I'm Everest," I returned. "As in the mountain?" He stared dumbfounded. I rolled my eyes but nodded anyway. Most asked question of my life. "Gather around everyone, the king is arriving," someone loudly announced. Everyone scattered back toward the table. Bradey grabbed my hand and pulled me along to sit next to him. "I assume you've met the lovely king," he suggested.
"Yes. Why say it like that?" I asked, referring to his sarcastic tone when he said lovely. "He isn't the best king ever. As a prince, he barely had time to even wave at anyone and never really socialized with anyone other than the ones with the highest ranks. Everyone thinks it's because he feels he is better than everyone but I think there is more to it," Bradey shrugged.
That does sound like my mate.
"And what about his love life?" I dared to ask. It was one of the questions I've been dying to know. I wanted to know how was his relationship with girls. He was pretty hot, way past my expectations so I can only assume the worse.
"Never seen him with anyone. The girls who sleep around throw themselves at him, some of them know they don't even stand a chance, and others just...dream," Bradey answered. I nodded my head, like his response. William definitely won't like his answer if he asked someone from my pack around me sexually.

"Why ask? Do you like him?" He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. I looked at my hands on my lap for a second. Suddenly, the doors were pulled open, gathering everyone's attention.
William walked through, nodding his head at the guards who opened the doors and walking towards the table. "Not my type," I whispered to Bradley. He only smiled as a response and we watched as William took his seat at the head of the large table.
"Good morning," he sternly greeted. "Good Morning, your highness," the loud voice of the people all together quickly replied at the same time. My hands gripped my knees out of how anxious I was. I didn't belong here. Everything felt so fancy and I felt out of place here. They waited until William began eating and then they started so I followed them, picking at the fruits and sandwich on my plate.
I kept to myself mostly. Bradey tried talking to me but I was focused on finishing until I was full and getting out of here. In the middle of eating, I felt his eyes on me. I brushed it off, hoping I was wrong or he would just stop.
I hated it.
He kept looking at me.
It was a stare then he would get distracted talking to someone but would now and then glance at me. Isn't he afraid someone would realize?
Finally, I decided to look at him dead in the eye.
My lips parted when I noticed how bright his grey eyes were. They were almost transparent with black specks shooting through. "Who is she, your highness?" Someone asked him in a whisper but I heard never the less. His eyes flicked to the person before resuming to eat his food.
"A new addition to the pack from Golden Cove. Details are confidential," he bluntly replied. I felt relieved that he said so little. Though he forgot to add the part that I was here against my will. Few weren't really paying attention but those of them who heard couldn't help but study me.
"What are you looking at?" Bradley snapped at one of them who was staring too long. They looked away with silence and I smiled in thanks at Bradley. My eyes slowly dragged back up to William to see him already glaring daggers at Bradley who was too caught up eating his food.
Just then, William's eyes turned to me and I froze. There it was again, that shift in his eyes that made me wish he wasn't an asshole. I was halfway done with my breakfast when I pushed the chair back to stand. "Excuse me," I said respectively before walking out of the room and thankfully I didn't have to wait very long for the elevator to open.
The second my room door shut, I threw my back against the door and skated down with my knees bending so my legs pressed my chest. Three knocks on the door followed. I stayed silent, hoping the person would leave.
Please don't be William.
"Your medication," the sound of Luis piped. I froze and rose to my feet, happy that it isn't William. When I opened the door I wasn't shocked to see he was holding a cup of the delicious tea.
"Thank you," I said, wiping under my eyes before accepting them both. "You're welcome," he smiled. For some reason the man lingered in front of my door, looking at me. It wasn't a weird look, it was more like he was trying to figure something out.
"Miss, there is a beautiful garden with a big tree and swings in the back if you want to check that out. No one really goes there anymore," Luis surprised me by suggesting.
I knew it. He knew that I could use a place like that right now. I hated indoor places. I liked the fresh air and breeze. When I was surrounded by nature things were just different. Luis knew that he sensed that I could use a place like that somehow.
"Thank you, I'll definitely check that out," I promised before shutting my door softly.
