《Dimensions - Edward Cullen》Chapter 1 🌲

The pine trees swayed in the wind. Fog hovered above them, the chirps of birds filled the silence, as a sudden crack echoed through the forest. A lifeless bear falls to the floor, limp.
Emmett Cullen was first to pounce on the prey. Edward was to quick and dodged through his feet swiftly, tripping him and sinking his teeth into the soft flesh. The warm blood felt amazing as it ran down his throat, filling the bloodless veins under his rock hard skin once again for the smallest fraction of a second. As a drop of the crimson liquid ran down the side of his chin, Edward looked up with a sly smirk, the satisfaction reaching every part of him.
Emmett stared angrily into the triumphant vampire's eyes, fury in his own, and pounced on him. The two rolled through the mud while Jasper stood in the sidelines, waiting for his child like siblings to get it together.
Suddenly, an unfamiliar scent took over the air. It was a strange yet sweet concoction of dirt and strawberries. Curious, they exchanged a look before following the smell, falling off track to their home. After a short while of speeding through the pines they came upon a figure on a floor. A human.
Yet it wasn't a human. Not the way it seemed. It was clearly a female, long dark hair spread around her. She was a sun tanned light skin, and instantly they noted her inhuman beauty, it was like no other Edward had ever seen, but that didn't apply for Emmett and Jasper; there was nothing more beautiful than their mates in their eyes.
"I can't smell any blood." Jasper whispered, edging closer to the girl. She wore a pair of sleep shorts and an oversized purple shirt.
"What is she? She doesn't seem- human." Emmett piped up. Edward stepped forward and shook her shoulder lightly. Maybe she had fallen asleep here for some reason? It seemed strange, but it was the only thing he could think off.

With a groan, the girl sat up with tightly shut eyes, rubbing her head with her hand lightly while holding herself up with the other. She looked up.
With a yelp, she got to her feet with surprising ease, looking back and forth between the three vampires standing before her. Shock rippled through her body, immediately replaced by fear. Why the hell were three fictional characters standing in front of her?
She was about to speak up when Emmett flicked her forehead, knocking her out once again. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she fell backwards to the floor.
Edward turned to him furiously. "Why did you do that? She's clearly freezing and you knock her out?" he hissed. Jasper shook his head in disappointment and sighed.
"What!? I was just saving her, she looked scared! Maybe she'll know where she is once she wakes up." Emmett said proudly.
"Lets take her to Carlisle. She might freeze to death if we just leave her here." Edward muttered, sending a glare in Emmett's direction.
"You know Rose won't be happy, right?" Emmett asked nervously. Rosalie was the only thing he was afraid of, not even bears.
"But we can't just leave her here to die and you know that. Lets go." And without another word Edward scooped her delicately into his arms and ran at an inhuman speed in the direction, his brothers running close behind.
The dirt crunched below his feet as he ran perusal through the trees, finally arriving at their destination. At this point she was shivering violently, but she never woke up. Emmett had done a very effective job.

Edward shouted Carlisle's name at once when they were inside their grand home. It truly was one of a kind.
"What's going on?" Carlisle wondered as he rushed down the stairs alerted by his son's urgent tone. However, his thoughts where quickly answered once he reached the boys and saw what they were talking about.

In Edwards's arms lay a beautiful woman. She seemed to be sleeping and not uncomfortable at all in the arms of the cold vampire. Carlisle immediately noticed there was something off about her, but he couldn't seem to put his finger on it.
"Bring her up to one of the guest rooms," Carlisle instructed as he hurried into his office to gather some tools.
Edward did as Carlisle said and laid her in a room close to Carlisle's office, under the sheets.
"Take her right arm out," Carlisle instructed as he pulled out a long needle. He then drew blood, but it didn't seem to affect any of the vampires in the room. Carlisle frowned.
"What is this?" Esme questioned as she stood looking in at her sons and her husband, flanked by Alice and Rosalie who looked just as curious as everyone else, Rosalie wearing a small frown. Emmett was instantly by her side, an arm wrapped around her waist as they stood with the rest of the vampires.
"We found her in the woods after hunting," Jasper explained.
"And Emmett knocked her out." Edward growled. He couldn't understand why this affected him so badly.
"I didn't see her coming," Alice said and frowned, frustrated. "She's nothing but a fog."
"Is she a threat?" Rosalie demanded, however she did feel a small hint of concern for the girl. She had been alone and in the woods after all.
After checking her, Carlisle stood up and gave the tube with the red liquid to Edward. Will you check it, son? He thought. Edward nodded in return and disappeared.
"So strange, she seems healthy, but it's difficult to tell," he then informed his family.
"Shall we let her rest then?" Esme suggested.
"Yes. When she awakes we can ask her our speculations." Carlisle answered his wife, nodding.
"I'll prepare some food for her then!" Esme said excitedly and retreated, hurrying down to the beautiful kitchen she could finally use.
"She'll certainly need nice comfortable clothes," Alice said happily and dragged Jasper out after her.
"I guess I'll loan her a bathrobe of mine until she can get clothes of her own," Rosalie stated, feeling bad for the girl and took off.
Emmett took one more look at the human before following his mate at a vampire's normal pace.
Edward was shocked. The blood scent thing wasn't normal. It was human blood, but it seemed to have traits of venom inside of it even if she wasn't a changed human or going under the change. The venom was frozen in her blood and the reason was beyond their knowing.
I wonder how this is possible. Its so fascinating, I have so many questions for her... Carlisle thought.
It didn't take long before what they thought to be human started to stir. Despite this small movement though, there was no other sign of her waking up as she turned her head slightly, making a part of her dark hair tuck under her head while the rest hung freely from the bed.
The two remaining Cullens in the room waited impatiently for the girl to come back to her senses. Esme came back as she waited for the food to be ready and waited with them as well, quite literally jumping up and down bouncing her heels, excited to meet the new comer. The kind woman wondered if she would be staying with them, or if she would leave soon. Esme thought she had seen a hint of care and passion in her brown haired son and simply couldn't help but wonder if this was the girl Edward had needed all along.
She could only hope.

Tales of the Willful Autonomous Nanobot Generator
Due to over-engineering and poor parenting; a nanobot generator is sent into the wider universe, ready to solve any and all problems...though probably not the way that was intended, or even hoped for. This story is a first time attempt to use a literary device I came up with, where I use 4 randomly selected songs to write short stories. As such there really won't be any cohesive story thread between chapters. If this gets traction, the likelihood for reader polls to influence the next story are high.

8 343Ether mage
Everyone is born with mana. Some people are born with more. Some are born with less. If they practice enough, they can improve those numbers, but if you don't even have enough to practice with, there isn't much you can do. Everyone is also born with ether. It is useful, but can't power any spells by itself. It only gives them shape. You don't normally need much ether. It is nice to be able to summon swords out of thin air, but not really that useful ability in a peaceful country, where enchanted items are so cheap. For people born with bigger ether pool, there isn't much to do except double their efforts to get more mana. Or reach out for a forbidden power...
8 126Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
