《Dimensions - Edward Cullen》Chapter 2 🌲

Athena woke up with a quiet groan. She felt strange. Her Killer Whale stuffed animal was missing from beside her, neither her soft satin sheets. It felt like normal cotton, and her eyes shot open in surprise.
To say the least, she hadn't expected to not wake up in her room. However, this room was certainly not hers. Sure, she was in her usual choice of sleep wear, but how had someone moved her in her sleep without her noticing?
The bed she laid in was big enough for two people to to sleep in with more than enough space. The window was open allowing morning light to stream in, helping her study her surroundings more carefully. There were blue walls around her. There was also a TV right on the wall in front of the bed. One wall was made of glass and she could see many music discs on the walls surrounding her. But her room's walls were white! She could faintly make out the outline of majestic pine trees outside the window. She blinked her eyes. She blinked again. This was so out of place.
Where the am I? She thought sourly and sat up. Her feet met with the cold floor and she stared right at a door. Curious, she crept closer and opened it just to find a very large bathroom. She tiptoed inside, shutting the marble door behind her and made her way over to the mirror. She must be in a mansion or something of the sort.
Her eyes widened as she noticed dirt on her right side, all the way from her cheek and head down to her feet. Without thinking, she grabbed the towel by the sink, wetted it a bit and then removed the dirt. She used the toilet, thinking 'why not' . After all, she hadn't brought herself there.
Exiting the bathroom she felt confused as she found an expensive looking blue robe by the end of the bed. It looks to expensive to even look at she thought, but she hurriedly put it on and exited the room, after all it was beyond freezing. The house seemed to be large, but for now she simply had no clue what else this unknown place held within its walls.
Quietly, she made her way down the stairs, wondering if she had been partying before she went to bed and had gotten drunk. This had happened before once, and she had somehow ended in her best friend's boyfriend's house. Her friend hadn't taken it well, but she got over it eventually. However, she was pretty sure she had not, considering she hadn't gone to any party since last week and her work usually kept her busy.

Voices could be faintly heard as she neared what she guessed would be the kitchen one floor down. She let her eyes peek first around the corner and stumbled back at what she saw.
She was going crazy, that had to be the answer! She could swear she had seen two golden eyed, pale people, most likely vampires, or trying to look like vampires. A quite large male and a blonde by his side looked too beautiful to be true. A woman stood with her back towards her with caramel hair and accompanied by a blonde male.
Athena stepped back. "Ouch!" she muttered as she hit something hard. She turned and gaped.
"No way. I don't believe it," she mumbled, mainly to herself. Someone that fit the description of Edward Cullen stood right in front of her! Though much more handsome than Robert Pattinson, no offense to him. It was Robert Pattinson in the Twilight movies but even more beautiful if that was even possible.
He kept staring at her causing her to step back, not noticing that several vampires had joined them in the hallway.
"Edward, is something the matter?" a soft voice spoke, and Athena could only guess it was Esme.
"It seems our mystery guest is awake," he said smoothly, staring right at her and her mouth fell open again.
"Robert Pattinson?" Athena stuttered out before she could think of what she was saying and covered her mouth. Edward tilted his head in confusion.
"Who's that?" He asked.
Come on, brain! Work your magic! Start working! But nothing Athena told to herself worked, and she turned to look away just to meet with the whole Cullen family or at least so she could guess.
"Is this a prank?" she then blurted. Surely it had to be that.
"What?" Rosalie hissed and glared, indignant.
"No way that you can be real. This must be a prank! I knew it! I can't go mental now!" Athena rambled on and took a hand to her head sighing.
"I can assure you that this is not a prank," Carlisle said concerned for the girl.
The tone of voice made Athena look up and meet his golden eyes. She opened her mouth to say something but instead turned on her heels, walking as fast as she could up and towards the room she had been in, desperately trying to clear her head from these horrible thoughts.

"If I go to sleep now I'll wake up home," she told herself quietly, not thinking that the seven vampires could hear her from the floor below.
"I do not believe so. My sons found you in the woods a couple hours ago," Carlisle said patiently, he was easily keeping up with her.
She stopped in her tracks. "W-what?" That explains the dirt. She instinctively pulled at her waist long hair.
"We were wondering if you could tell us what happened," Carlisle said in a calm demeanor.
"I can say one thing, Carlisle. I have no clue!"
Carlisle's eyes widened, she knew his name.
Uh-oh, I just said his name without thinking! Stupid.
"How do you now my name?" he asked and frowned, his family gathering close, curious.
Athena laughed a bit nervous. "Ha. Ha...Ha? You know...it will be hard to believe," she said, voice uncertain and laughed quietly.
"Whats in her thoughts?" Rosalie whispered to Edward with a small hint of judgement.
His face was masked with a frown. Yet another case where he couldn't read a person's mind. Alice and Jasper were having the same problem with their gifts when it came to this human.
"Well, my name is Athena. I am seventeen years old. I was born with photographic memory and thats... it," Athena said and scratched the back of her head nervously.
"..oh and it seems I am in the wrong universe." She added the last part quietly and she could feel the temperature lower around her.
"What do you mean by that, Athena?" Carlisle wondered.
Athena looked down, finding a spot on the stair she was standing on very interesting. "I never thought I would end up in a book. Well a fictional world to be honest. In my world, you are all nothing but characters from a book series. They even made movies," she explained.
"So is Robert Pattinson- you know, what does he do? The person you mentioned earlier?" Edward asked curiously.
Athena laughed. "Oh, he plays you, Edward in the movies. Looks exactly like you not a thing missing." She said. Edward gaped at her.
"Thats amazing- do you by any chance know all our names?" Edward pondered.
"Yes, I do" Athena said.
"So we're book characters?" Rosalie hissed, not wanting to believe it. The girl turned her gaze towards the stunning blond female vampire.
"Yes, in my world. However, you are very much alive right now and I'm obviously not dreaming. Nevertheless, I have no clue how I got here. One moment I was asleep in my own bed, the next I wake up here." She breathed out and looked up. All vampires staring at her with shock.
"Fascinating," Carlisle breathed.
"Oh, you poor thing," Esme gasped and came forward to hug Athena who stiffened. She wasn't very used to human affection.
"You alright?" Emmett asked, concerned.
"Not used to this sort of contact," Athena said and pointed to Esme who was still holding around her.
"You surely do have a family, back home I mean," Jasper said calmly.
"Actually, I don't. Well, I do have a mother, though she has been in a mental hospital for as long as I can remember." Athena shrugged.
"Well, I think you should rest a bit, and we shall see what tomorrow brings. Edward needs to go back to school as well," Carlisle said and led Athena forward.
"What exactly has happened so far?" Athena asked curiously.
"The Chief's daughter Bella Swan recently moved her. And her blood affected Edward quite badly. Caused him to flee," Rosalie explained, and a bit sour at the end there.
Oh, then we're early into the book Athena thought.
"Athena?" Edward's voice made her freeze as she once again turned to meet his eyes. She knew for a fact that she would not let any of these vampires boss her around, but she couldn't help it. His voice was so soft and inviting, that she simply couldn't not listen to him.
"Yes?" she asked.
"If necessary, would you mind enrolling into school with us and keep close to me?" he asked.
"Why?" Athena asked.
"Your blood and presence have no effect on us. It makes it easier to be around humans," Jasper explained.
"How do you know that?" Athena asked curiously.
"We tested your blood." A simple answer was said.
"Huh." And a simple response was huffed.
