"Three sugar cookies and three chocolate chip cookies." Jessica suggests.

"No, Santa prefers more of sugar cookies so I think four sugar cookies and two chocolate chip." Jesse suggests.

"What if Santa's got diabetes?" Sarah asks which made the twins look at their mother.

"Mother you're not really helping us here." Jessica shook her head.

"And whose side are you on anyway?" Jesse frowns and asks.

"No ones. Now I kept my promise and I'm letting you two set the cookies and milk for Santa." She tells them.

"Come up with your decision and go to bed fast. With the lights on, Santa will never visit the house." She walked to them and kissed goodnight and left the kitchen. They looked at me waiting for my opinion.

"I think your mum has a point of Santa being diabetic. Why don't you give an assortment of cookies, maybe a digestive." I suggest.

"You got a good point there." Jesse nods.

"And then when we wake up we'll know if Santa is diabetic," Jessica states as she walked over to one of the cabinets and took out some digestive biscuits. "So Jesse, how does two sugar cookies, two chocolate chip cookies and two digestives sound?" she asked her brother.

"That sounds alright. Although digestives and milk really don't go well together." he made a face as he told her.

---

I let out a small chuckle recalling the scene that took place almost an hour or two ago as I placed the last gift under the tree and sat down on the couch and looked at the plate of cookies and the glass of milk.

The room was dark but it was lit with the fireplace and some Christmas candles were lit. The room looks beautiful and more beautiful since the lights on the tree were also on. One would even call it a little romantic.

It's Christmas already. Time flew really fast since I came here.

Just as I got up to leave, I heard someone walking into the room. I turned around to see who it was and I found Jasper standing there with a large bag in his hand, looking at me.

"Did not know you would be down here." I heard him say as he walked to the tree.

"I was about to leave," I say and got up. "It's anyway late and I better get some sleep." I sigh.

"Or you could wait till I'm done and we could go up together." he placed another gift as he spoke.

"Maybe but you better hurry before Santa arrives you know." he chuckled and got up and walked over to where I was standing. "So you believe in Santa I mean you do know Santa is not the fat red-suited man that comes down the chimney." he crossed his arms over his chest. "I do. Is it wrong to believe in Santa?" I ask.

"No, just wondering how a girl who never had a very good experience with Christmas-" "I've had one experience with my grandparents." I interrupt.

"Yeah but that was when you were a kid." He reminds me.

"Some of those memories came back to mind when Christmas comes near." I look at him.

He sat on the couch and patted the seat next to him. I let out a small sigh and sat next to him.

"My grandmother and I would bake cookies and my grandfather and I would have a glass of milk and plate of cookies. We would place it on the coffee table and I would guard it against my cousins till it was time to sleep." He had a smile on his face.

"I would wake up early with my cousins and run down the stairs to see if Santa ate the cookies and if he left gifts for us." I laugh a little remembering the days without my parents.

"What happened after that Christmas?" My smile faded.

"My parents took me away from them. They had a fight." I looked down and answer.

"But being a child, I thought of doing the same so I told the cook to bake me some cookies. For three Christmas' I would have a plate of cookies next to the fireplace. My tree wasn't very big, sometimes there wouldn't be one." The quarrel with my parents came into my mind. A fight to bring in a tree for society's sake at least.

"Anyway, so as a curious kid I would sneak out of bed to check if Santa was there but all the three years I would see my parents walk in after midnight and eat the cookies." He frowned.

"Well they walk in late and the cook is not at home because he's on a break. They would be hungry." I sort of defend my parents.

"But that's no reason to eat the cookies that were kept for Santa." He argues.

"Now when I know that they put on a face for the society, I really don't care. At least I'm glad that it's not completely out of my memory and it's thanks to you that I could revive and relive these moments." He let go of the frown and smiled.

"There's no need to thank me." I smile and look down at my watch.

"I think we should go and sleep," I say and got up from the couch.

"Yeah, Santa might make his visit sometime now." He chuckled and got up.

We walked out of the living room and climbed the stairs very quietly. Without making any kind of sound, we walked to where our rooms were.

We both stopped in front of each of our doors but before I opened the door, I look at Jasper. Coincidence I guess, he was looking at me as well.

"Merry Christmas, Holly."

"Merry Christmas, Jasper." He nods his head and walks into his room, so do I. I close the door behind me and walk carefully to my bed without hurting myself since I didn't want the lights on.

----

"WAKE UP WAKE UP!!! CHRISTMAS DAY!!!"

Why don't people understand it's not good to wake up with people shouting or yelling?

"HOLLY WAKE UP!!" I heard James scream.

"I'm getting up." I murmur but they clearly didn't hear it. "HOLLY WAKE UP!!!" I recognized that as Jessica's voice.

"Okay! Alright!" I exclaim and turn to get up but I felt my body fall and I came in contact with the floor. Thank God for carpet again.

"Oh no, Holly!" I heard Jessica exclaim and she ran to where I lay. "Are you alright?" she asks me. "Yeah." I nod and try to sit up but it would be a lot better if I just continued to lay down there because my eyes met with Jasper's eyes.

He was in my room!

He saw me fall!

Great, what a way to wake up.

I slowly got up and settled my top. Jessica apologized for her way of waking me up, James came up to me and gave me a hug around my legs. This four-year-old is too adorable for me.

"Why don't we go join Jesse downstairs and let Holly get ready for the day," Jasper tells them. They nod their heads and walk towards the door. Jasper followed them and they left the room.

I walked to the door, closed and locked it and leaned against the door for a minute. I let out a sigh and laughed a bit. It was definitely quite a funny scene to see in the morning.

I walked to the bathroom and quickly freshened up. I decided to go with some black skinny jeans with a Christmas sweater I bought the other when I went to buy presents for everyone. I french braided my hair and let my bangs out on my forehead. I applied a little makeup and while I applied a little lipstick on my lips, my phone rang.

I walked to my nightstand and picked up the call I was getting from Emma.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!" Emma greets me with extreme excitement, I couldn't help but laugh a little.

"Merry Christmas Em!" I greet her as well.

"You sound pretty happy." I chuckle. "Why wouldn't I be, Em? It's Christmas day." I say.

"I know but last Christmas, I had to literally pull you out of bed." she reminded me of last Christmas. I had just gotten over my break up and I couldn't figure Emma's excitement for Christmas.

"Yeah, that was last year and this year I rolled out of bed."

"You mean you fell down?" she asks, I sigh and walk to my door. "Oh my gosh! That is funny!" she begins to laugh, I open the door and step out of my room.

"Want to laugh more?" She continued to laugh, "There's more?" she asks in between her laughs.

"I had an audience." And I heard the laughter get harder and the worst part was that I had to hear it all.

"Oh, my! Are you telling me that Jasper saw you fall?"

"Yes. I mean how could this morning be any better." I sarcastically say but Emma did not end her laughter.

"Oh, Lord! Thank you, Holly, you just made this Christmas more memorable."

"Your welcome, I guess." I shrug and say.

"So what're plans for the day?" she asks me as I took the stairs to go down. "Don't know yet," I say.

"Alright then, I'll not take your time. You call me when you can." she tells me.

"Okay; Have fun, Emma."

"You too." she says and I end the call before entering the living room. I put my phone in my pocket and walked into the living room and joined everybody around the coffee table.

Everybody was dressed for the occasion. Either it was a Christmas jumper or something in red or green. They looked like a perfect family.

"Merry Christmas Holly!" Sarah hugged me.

"Merry Christmas Sarah." I hug her back, Peter came over and wished me as well so did Juliet and Jesse.

I noticed Jessica stand in front of a plate with only three cookies and an empty glass. "What's wrong, Jessie?" I ask her.

"I thought I would figure if Santa has diabetes." she looked at me. "But Santa turned out to be smart. He ate one of each!" she shook her and walked away towards the kitchen, the rest of us couldn't help but laugh at the way Jessica was disappointed in her experiment.

"I know you all want to open your presents." We turned around to face Sarah, "But let's have some waffle breakfast and we shall open it a little later." Jesse and James frowned.

"Cheer up guys." Juliet picked James up, "Mom has made some delicious Christmas brownies." She tickled James and he giggles and then we all made our way to the dining room for breakfast.

My day has started strangely well, I'm not quite sure of how it would end but it would end differently from all the Christmas' I've had.
