"Holly?"

I heard someone call my name very softly. I groan a little.

"Are you awake?"

"I think," I reply with my eyes still closed. "Are you going to wake up soon." I heard the person ask.

"I probably would with all the questions." I turn to the voice. "I'm sorry for waking you up." I hear her say.

"It's okay Jessica." I tell her and slowly try to open my eyes. "Don't you think it's a bit early for Jesse or me to crush on people we might like?" she asked me.

"Not really." I sit up, I rub my eyes with my hand to wake up. "Our heart is a crazy organ that makes you fall for the smallest of the things you see in someone." I finally managed to open my eyes and look at her. "But yeah, you might have a point considering that you guys are arguing over "love" at this age," I tell her. "This is your age to relax and enjoy life because you will never get this phase again. Once you bring the whole "love" emotion into your innocent life, things get ugly and complicated." she nods her head.

Jessica was really upset, you could see it on her face. She let out a sigh and then looked at the time. "It's half past seven, I think we should get ready for breakfast," she tells me, I nod. She got off the bed and walked to the door.

"Jessie." she turned around before she opened the door.

"Are you two seriously ten-year-olds?" she laughed at my question.

"Eleven in two months." she replied, opened the door and closed it behind her.

"I was thinking if Tuesday or Wednesday would be a good day for us ladies to go shopping," Sarah asked Juliet, Jessica and me. "We need to pick up some Christmas gifts too." Juliet placed the washed and dried plates on the shelf.

We were in the kitchen after having our breakfast, Sarah wanted to talk to us three and so we were in the kitchen.

"I'm off from Tuesday so I could work that out." Juliet nodded and agreed.

"I don't have anything planned for those days." I smile and reply.

"And Jessica can enjoy her day with us after her two-day grounding." Jessica let out a groan and stomped her feet. "Well, if the two of you could control your emotions then you and Jesse would never be grounded in the first place." Sarah told her. Juliet and I stood there silently, Jessica walked out of the room with a huff and Sarah smiled at us.

After all the dishes were placed in its places, Sarah and Juliet sat down by the counter to discuss the menu for today's lunch and dinner. I decided to go to my room and work on my next assignment or I could have a warm afternoon shower.

I closed the door of the room and walked to the dressing table and placed my watch there, I let my hair down and stood in front of the mirror and stared at myself. Usually, when I stood in front of any mirror, my mind begins to yell at me, telling me how my life is in such a mess but right now all my mind could think of is Jasper.

My heart and mind thought of Jasper almost every moment of the day but a part of mind keeps reminding me of how boys could be and keep my feelings aside.

Besides, it really wasn't right to like him because he did not invite me to his house to fall for him. He called me here so that I celebrate a Christmas that I would remember. These emotions always complicate everything.

Out of slight frustration, I turn to the bathroom and switch on the water heater.

I heard a knock on my door when I stepped out of the bathroom, my attention went to the door. I walked to it and opened the door and I see Jasper standing in front of me with his hands in the front pocket of his jeans.

Damn those jeans looked great on him. Everything he wears suits him well, some people try new trends and just mess their sense of fashion they were born with.

"Holly?" I shook my head when I saw Jasper wave at me.

"You alright?" he asked me, I quickly nod. "Yeah, what's up?" I ask him with a quick smile.

"I was thinking of doing something, just the two of us."

Just the two of us?

"But if you're busy, we could do it some other time." I shook my head. "I'm not busy," I tell him which made him smile.

"Alright then, just wear something that will keep you warm, for the head too." he told me.

"Are we going out somewhere?" I ask him.

"Sort of." he nods and replies. "Just meet me in the living room when you're ready." I nod and he turned to leave. I close the door and let out a sigh. Just when I thought falling for him was a bad idea, he comes up with something that will just make me think of him more, even though I had no idea what he was up to.

Since he mentioned that we were sort of going out, I wore a woollen top with my skinny jeans and put a warm comfortable overcoat that would keep me warm for today's weather. I reached for my Uggs and had a beanie on my head.

Once I felt I was ready to step out, I place my phone in my back pocket and walked out of my room. I took the stairs and headed for the living room. When I walked into the living room, there was nobody, not even Jasper.

I walk over to the couches and sat down with a magazine in my hand. As I flipped through the pages of the magazine, my vision was blocked when someone placed a cloth over my eyes to blind me.

"Why are you covering my eyes, person?" I ask and I heard his chuckle.

"The person has a name." He replies.

"I figured that now. Tell me why are you blinding me?" I ask him.

"Because we are going to a place which is a surprise," he whispers against my ears. "I'm not a fan of surprises," I state as he told me to get up.

"Too bad, Scrooge. You might as well get used to surprises if you're my friend." he tells me.

"Fine but if during this time that I'm blinded, I get hurt...I'm blaming you." I warn him.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure you won't get a single scratch." he assures me, I smile a little.

He was directing me towards the direction I was supposed to be going in, he was walking behind me. He told me that I was going to step outside now, I could feel the cold breeze hitting my face as I neared it. I knew I was done with the door when I heard the door close.

"Jasper, you still there?" I ask just to check if he is still there behind me.

"I very much am." I hear him reply. "Now walk forward, Holly." he tells me. I walk forward and soon I felt me feet on something soft. Snow.

"Continue to walk till I tell you to stop." I heard him tell. I walk in the path I was on, I did not move away from the path at all. I'm getting a little worried now because other than giving me directions and him walking behind me, he did nothing. He has blindfolded me, where could this fellow be taking me.

"Jasper, my feet will begin to hurt if you're planning to have a long walk like this." I spoke.

"Trust me, we're not going anywhere far from the house." he replies.

"Fine but why are we walking so much." I whine.

"Just a few more steps and we will be there." I heard him calmly reply.

After approximately thirty or forty steps, Jasper made me stop. I felt some wooden fence a few steps back, which kind of indicated that we stepped out of the house's fences.

"Stay here and do not peep." he told me.

"Peeping is out of the question, how tight have you tied this." he laughed. "What I meant was not to try and remove the blindfold till I tell you to." I sigh.

I heard him walk away from me and the footsteps got more and little distant and then, all of a sudden, there was silence.

Out of slight fear that crept in, I spread my arms out, I honestly have no idea what I am up to. Just when I thought of calling Jasper out, I heard him.

"Holly, carefully remove the blindfold." I sigh with happiness and reach for the knot at the back of my head. I untie it and was greeted with endless white snow that I see from my window every day. It was so pleasing to the eyes.

"Holly! Turn Right!" I heard him yell.

"What?" I turn to my right and I felt something cold on my face and laughter.

My first encounter with a snowball.

My face was frozen and I think I got a brain freeze because I had some of the snow in my mouth as well.

What a great first experience to a snowball on my face.

I got on my knees, my hands were in the snow. Jasper came running to where I was.

"You alright?" he asked as he softly continued to laugh.

"Slight brain freeze but," I gathered some snow in my hand and put on his face. "It was fun!" I exclaim and ran away from him.

"You're not getting away that fast!" I heard him say and run behind me with more snow attacking me

I stopped and turned around. He stopped where he was. "Stop throwing snowballs at me." I told him. "There is no fun in just making snowballs if there is no one to attack" he walked closer "Besides, you did something similar to that a few seconds back." he says.

"That was a payback," I state.

"Right. Since that is done, let's have a proper snowball fight." He bent down and got a snowball ready.

---

We lay under the baby blue sky on the white snow.

I've only watched in movies what a snowball fight is. This was the first time I ever experienced it and it was amazing.

"Did you like it out here?" I heard him ask.

"You really did surprise me." I reply with a smile.

"I'm glad you like it. It's something Jessica and Jesse do every Christmas break but I don't think they might be allowed to because of their behaviour."

I continue to stare at the almost clear sky, the silence was very soothing and peaceful. Reminded me of the days I would slowly sneak out to the terrace on a pleasant day and stare at the cloud filled sky. Just when I got extremely comfortable with the silence, I heard the sound of someone move or walk on the snow. I turned to see Jasper moving while still lying on the snow.

"What are you doing?" I ask as I tried to look at him.

"I'm making a snow angel." he replied as he continued to do what he was doing. "Try it." He tells me.

"I don't know how to make one."

"It's jumping jacks without jumping." He tells me.

I move my arms and legs, doing jumping jacks while lying in the snow. He told me to keep doing it and then after some time we got up and looked at the shape that was formed where we lay.

"There you go, your very first snow angel." He says with a smile.

"It's a bit kiddish." I admit.

"No, it isn't." I turn to him. "People of all ages do so." He told me.

"If you say so but I do wonder how you're so different here." He chuckled and looked at me. "I'm home, Holly." He tells me and turns towards home.

"Let's go, it's almost time for lunch." He tells me and soon we walked back to the house

It's quarter to ten on the clock and I was done with my shower and got ready in my pyjamas for the movie night of Home Alone 2.

I was about to take my comb and comb my hair when I heard a knock on the door. I turned to the door and it opened a little and saw Juliet standing there with a small pile of clothes in her hands.

"I came here to hand you the clothes that came back from the wash." She tells me as she walked into my room.

"Why did you take the trouble of it, I would have taken it myself," I say and walk to where she was.

"It's alright." She gave a small smile.

"Thank you." I thank her and she responded with a nod. "Are you joining us for the movie?" I ask her.

"No, I've got work tomorrow." I nod to her reply and walk back to the dressing table to put my hair into a messy bun.

"Holly." I see Juliet come and stand beside me. "I've got to tell you something." I turn to her.

"Yeah, tell me."

"It might be a little strange for me to say this but I've noticed the way Jasper and you look at each other at times." I became a little guarded when she said this.

"You two might have undeclared feelings but I'm just telling you not to fool him or hurt him when it comes to feelings. He's a bit sensitive." She told me.

"I'm not the type to hurt people's feelings." I tell her.

"I know, I'm just saying because he should not get hurt." She said with concern.

"I would never hurt him in any way, Juliet." I promised. I couldn't hurt people after having people who I know hurt me.

"Okay, Good Night then." She smiled.

"Good Night Juliet." I smile.

I went back to my hair and Juliet left my room. A few minutes later, I made my way to the room where the movie was being played.

Home Alone 2 was playing on the screen and everyone in the room were laughing, except me. I looked at Jasper occasionally and Juliet's words were playing in my head.

I knew one thing for sure, no matter what Jasper and I will be; I would never hurt him or let anyone hurt him in any way.

That is a promise.
