My hair was put up into a tight bun and I was wearing an apron over my full sleeve top and skinny jeans.

This is one attire that you will never find Holly Anne Winters wear unless she has no other choice.

Sarah set today, almost a week before Christmas, the day to begin baking and making goods for the Christmas week. The ladies of the house that is Sarah, Juliet, Jessica and I, after breakfast would be in the kitchen kneading dough, mixing batters and more.

Since the ladies were in the kitchen, the Anderson household was calm. One of the main troublemaker was standing beside me rolling the gingerbread dough along with me.

Jessica told me how Sarah baked gingerbread for the neighbourhood and for the church. Once the dough was rolled to the thickness required, Jessica and I took the cookie cutters and started cutting the cookies out.

Sarah and Juliet were making the dough for the mince pies but currently went to pick up some more grocery for the house. The mix of raisins and dry fruits that were to go into the pies were so delicious, lip smacking and finger licking delicious. I re-rolled the gingerbread dough to cut out more cookies.

I placed each of the cut out cookies on the baking tray in a line. I made sure they were at a decent distance. Three large trays that are about forty-eight cookies in total. Jessica and I placed them in the preheated oven and closed it and let it bake.

Next, Jessica and I were to prepare some warm cake for the evening tea. Sarah handed us her recipe book to follow. Jessica started measuring the liquids such as a half cup of milk and vanilla extract and then helped me in measuring all the dry ingredients and the soft ingredients such as butter.

As Jessica sifted the flour, baking soda, cocoa powder and a pinch of salt, I started beating the butter and the sugar on low speed and then gradually increased the speed to medium. Once that was done and I got the approval from Jessica, I crack the eggs and the rest of the liquids into it and mix them well.

"Now Jessica, I want you to this done carefully," I warn her. "Don't worry, I'm a pro at this." she proudly told me. "I always help mom with this." she continued to say.

"Pretty much explains how I had mash on my apron in the afternoon." I look at her.

"I promise, I will not cause anything to spill on you," she promised. I sigh and told her to lift the bowl of all the dry ingredients. The process is to slowly mix the dry ingredients with the mixer on slow and then to gradually increase the speed. Jessica carefully started adding the flour to the mixer and I watched the mixer mixing the cake batter. She added the next lot and since the batter started getting thicker, I increased its speed and told her to add it extremely carefully.

She did her job well until I heard someone scream "SPIDER!" and Jessica dumped the entire dry ingredients into the mixer and that caused a huge fog of flour and cocoa powder and everything and I was unfortunately in the fog.

I moved my hands through the smoke of flour, cocoa powder and everything, coughed. Just as I wiped my eyes with the small towel I had in hand, I heard someone whisper to my ears something that forced me to cringe.

"Hey, Scrooge."

Okay, I have to admit, that voice was one totally attractive but I could not handle him calling me Scrooge. I turned around to face him but I royally tripped on his shoes and hands landed on his shoulders to prevent myself from falling.

Great.

"The story never mentioned about Scrooge being a bit clumsy." he laughed as he looked at me. "Shut up," I mutter which made him chuckle.

Many would call this a completely romantic moment and it sure was because my heart was beating as fast as a train. I could drown in the depth of his eyes, his lips were just perfect to kiss on but it all disappeared when I heard the twins yell.

"You idiot!" Jessica yelled.

"I'm sorry Jessica!" Jesse yelled in pain. I got off Jasper's support and ran to the other side of the counter and found Jessica sitting on top of his back and pulling his hair. "Jessica! Get off!" I tried to pull her away. "He had it coming!" she yelled back and gave him another punch.

"Jessica, he said he's sorry." Jasper calmly told her as he got on his knees to try and separate them. "It was just spider he yelled out." Jessica turned and glared at Jasper. "I don't think I need to explain to you how I hate even the word spider." she snapped at Jasper.

"Jessica calm down." I got on my knees and tried to calm her down.

"I'm apologizing Jessica! I AM SORRY!" Jesse yells and apologized.

"Oh this is payback for what you did in school!" she gave him another punch. I caught her before she could give him another punch and pulled her up and made her stand. "Punching him is not a solution." I told her. "Holly, he had it coming." he pointed at Jesse who was now standing next to Jasper.

"If you hadn't probably gone and told Ashley about my dreams I would have never yelled the prohibited word!" Jesse yelled at Jessica.

"It all started with you when you went and told Dylan the word. I was so embarrassed!" Jessica yelled back.

"Maybe you should go and confess your feelings to Dylan." Jesse calmly states.

"Sure, I will." Jessica mocked. "When you tell Ashley that you see her in your dreams going on ice cream dates. You found nobody else but my best friend!" Jesse looked away.

"Guys! You sound like five-year-olds. Just apologize already." Jasper told them both.

"Fine, I apologize for my acts." Jesse quickly apologized.

"I apologize but I'm not going to be in the same room with him tonight." Jessica glared at her twin. "So you're cancelling the movie night?" Jesse asked her.

"No, I'm not going to sleep in my room today." she tells him and walks out of the kitchen. Jesse sighed and walked out as well leaving Jasper and me in the kitchen. I looked around and thankfully nothing broke. I went back to the side I was working on and I started cleaning it, Jasper silently came near me and took the empty bowls and placed it in the sink.

"Holly, I'll clear this up and tell mom about the cake. Why don't you go up and clean yourself up." he looked at me.

"I'll clear this up and then I'll go," I reply and begin to collect the flour that had fallen. "Holly, I'm serious, go and get yourself cleaned." he told me again.

"Fine." I sigh and kept the towel on the counter and walked out, a little disappointed.

"A fog of flour, baking powder and cocoa powder." Emma laughed as she repeated the ingredients.

"Not funny Emma," I reply with no emotion attached to my voice.

"I'm sure I would have had a good laugh if I saw you." She continued to laugh.

"Do you enjoy laughing at anything else other than me?" I ask her, annoyed. "Sure I do but lately you're giving me all the reasons to laugh at." And continues to laugh again.

"Stop it now." I snap.

"Alright alright but giving you, a nickname is adorable." She went into a cute mode which was only and only meant for babies and toddlers. "Scrooge is not a nickname that is adorable." I state.

"True but it's a good start." She says, I sigh.

"An eventful time you are having there." She starts to say. "You went out for breakfast with him." Oh I remember that lady at the counter. "Then went grocery shopping and he took you out for your promised ice cream and he gave you a beautiful nickname."

"That was a good summary of the two weeks," I say.

"You're having a good time and you have a boy who might like you, I'm happy for you." She tells me.

"Emma, I'm not sure if he does. If he does and I confess too, for some reason I think it's going to be a short winter tale and nothing else and I'll be back to eating ice cream in the dorm." I heard her sigh.

"Holly, I know this feeling and if it's not meant to be then nothing will happen to break your heart. I'll be by your side. However, I am very sure that this guy has something special and if it's fate, he would share it with you."

"I guess," I mumble. "I have to go, Emma, got a movie night tonight." I say. "I can imagine both of you cuddling together already!!" She got excited. "It's a family movie night you fool." I inform her.

"Too bad, I have to go clubbing with my cousins."

"But you're not-" "I know but my cousins have their ways, I don't want to go though." She interrupts me.

"I would have swapped places." I sort of suggest. "No, I want you to stay there." She told me as a warning.

"Just a thought!" I surrender.

"Okay then, I'll talk to you later."

"Later then." I say and she declined the call.

I kept my phone on the table and got dressed in my comfortable clothes.

Jasper told the entire episode of how we did not have cake for the evening. Sarah's pretty mad at the twins for it but later on, she baked a quick cheesecake for the movie night.

I went down to where we were to watch the movie tonight, Jessica was already sitting down on the carpet. Sarah, Peter, Juliet and James came in and took their seat on the couch.

"Jessica, which movie is on the list for us tonight?" Peter asked her.

"I don't know it's Jesse's turn," she muttered and looked away. She was pretty mad at him and was very serious about the spider issue. I placed my hand on her shoulder; she looked at me and then gave a small smile.

I felt someone sit beside me, I turned to see Jasper beside me. I turned my head to face the screen quickly.

"Jesse, play movie!" James yelled in excitement.

"Alright, Everyone, We are going to watch Home Alone tonight," Jesse announced. I was happy, I enjoyed watching Home Alone and thanks to that, I drove one of my old butler's out of the house. He was creepy and I disliked him, so I placed buckets of water, flour and spilt oil on the ground every now and then till he decided to quit his job.

I'm so proud of that day!

Jesse played the movie and at every funny scene, everybody laughed. It felt nice to have every member of the family sit down for a movie and have a great end to any day. You never get an ear pain with the laughter of enjoyment but you're bound to get one if you watch Netflix or a movie with your headphones giving you company.

After the movie was over, Jessica asked me if she could sleep in my room. I agreed to it because there was plenty of room for another person to sleep on my bed. Actually, another two could fit. Jessica and I climbed the stairs and walked to my room, I told her to go in and I waited for Jasper.

It felt strange to not hear him say goodnight before I went to bed.

I saw him walk to his door, he saw me and smiled.

"You enjoyed the movie," he said. "Nobody could ever get bored of Home Alone." I chuckle and say. "Yeah, it's a great movie." he nods his head.

"I better get some sleep." I look down at my feet and say. What am I doing?! Is this how you talk!

"Yeah, you've got company too." I chuckle and look up at him.

"Night Scrooge."

"Will you ever stop calling me that?" I ask him.

"Not really." he shook his head. "Night Jasper." I say and got into my room.

Jessica was already under the blanket and was almost asleep. I switched off the lights and made my way to the bed and lay under the blanket. I couldn't help but smile after thinking of all that happened today and soon my eyes got heavy and I drifted off to sleep.
