Though I felt sad for the demon, I knew that at the moment I needed my friend and my friend needed me. We sat on the sofa and as if we were strangers we couldn't start to each other.

"So...where have you been today? Why weren't you at the university?" I decided to start seeing that he wasn't going to make the first step of our conversation.

"I was was just taking a walk and thinking. I wanted to kind of categorize all the thoughts I had and understand what I was going to tell you today."

"Oh," was the only thing that I was able to say at that moment. I didn't even know why our relationship has become so weird and artificial.

"Bailey I want us to talk about the day that we had a 'fight'..."

"Look Matt, I'm sorry okay? I know that I should've told you about the-" he cut me off.

"No Bay listen, you don't have to apologize. It's been a couple of days that I spend my time alone and try to understand myself. I thought a lot about what happened that day and I want you to know that you're not wrong. If I tell you about my relationships it doesn't mean that you have to do the same," he said in a very calm way.

I kind of felt sadness in his voice.

"It's not that Matt. The thing is that we didn't have any relationship or something like that. It was just a kiss that didn't mean anything neither to me nor to him. Actually, I was so surprised by that action of his that I didn't tell that to anybody. I knew that you wouldn't like to know that and that would make you angry."

"So you decided not to tell me and hide the truth? Is that a right decision? What do you think?"

"Matt...I...I really don't know why you're being like this. You know that I love you very much and don't you think that everyone has something they don't want to share with anyone?"

"So you didn't tell that to Meghan either? About the kiss," he said sounding kind of angry.

"No. She didn't know about that either. I only told you after the moment you left because she didn't understand why you left. Is that what it is about? Are you jealous of Meghan? Matt it doesn't make any sense!" I said laughing.

"Is that a joke to you Bailey? Everything was okay with me and you until she arrived and took you away from me."

"What are you talking about Matt? Are you crazy? She didn't do anything at all. She even...You don't even know that she..." I wanted to tell him so much that she likes him like crazy and now he blames her for taking me away from him. If anything, she's gonna take HIM away from ME. But I'm okay with that.

"That she what Bailey?"

"Never mind okay? I didn't want to make it about these relationships, but actually the problem isn't in me."

"So, now you're referring that the problem is in me?"

"Not directly. Look Matt, you know that I want you to be happy and stuff, but from the moment that you've been with Brittany you completely forgot about me. I really appreciate that you came and fought with the jerks to help Damon, but that was almost the only moment that I've seen you after officially dating her."

"You don't know what you're talking about."

"Matt can't you just once admit that you might be at fault as well?"

"It's not like that. Look, you could've told me that okay?"

"You can't even admit it right now, but what makes you think that you would've admitted if it was sooner? You would still be like this. Besides, I saw how deeply you wanted to be with her. I couldn't make you choose between me or her," I looked at him with disappointment. I couldn't understand how my understanding and caring decision could be interpreted this way?

"You had to do that. Because...I still...I would still...break up with her," he said looking away.

"You what? How? When? Why?"

"I wanted to tell you about it the day that I heard you and Damon. I was pissed before and that just made me even angrier. I knew that I was the one who told you to be kind to him, though what you did wasn't what I meant. I didn't want to lose you to him, to Meghan, to anybody. "

"Matt...Matty...You won't. I promise you that and you know that even yourself. I just don't know what made you think that you would lose me? Damon and I don't like each other at all and you've seen that. What concerns Meggy, she's the sister I've always dreamt about, but didn't get the chance to have. Why did you break up with Brittany?"

"She was the one who broke up with me and it doesn't matter right now. I don't want to talk about it," he said obviously not liking the topic we were discussing.

"Aren't you going to do anything? Don't you want to make up with her?"

I know that this feels kind of wrong of me not to be a liiiiittle happy for Meggy and her feelings, but right now I know that my friend's heart aches as well and that's the worst pain of all.

"No. I don't want to. Bay I'm sorry for reacting that way. I'm really really sorry. Maybe it was because of how stressed I was because of the break up. I don't even know myself. Now I understand that there's nothing between you and Damon," he said smiling at me.

"Well, about that. There's something I think you should know..."

"What again? Don't tell me you're dating Bailey Collins or I'll kill you right this second!"

"First of all, killing is what I always do. I am the one who always kills people so don't plagiarize that phrase. Second of all, NO are you stupid? I just told you that we hate each other and here you are with your conclusions. The thing is that I have to go on a date with him," I said grimacing knowing he wouldn't like that idea for sure.

"YOU WHAT? SO, you call me stupid because I thought you were dating and then you're like you know we're not dating, but I have to go on a date with him? Can't you feel that YOU'RE the one who's stupid here? I mean how is going on a date different from dating?"

"Listen young man stop for a sec and let me explain. Well, I wanted to do something for you-"

"So, you're telling me you're going on a date with him for ME?"

"MATTHEW MONGTOMERY SHUT UP RIGHT NOW OR I'LL PLACE THREE PAIRS OF SOCKS INTO YOUR MOUTH FOR YOU TO FINALLY SHUT THE HELL UP!"

"Okay okay I'm sorry go on."

"Finally! I talked to him about your project and he told me that he was intentionally ignoring you."

"Well, it was pretty obvious. Go on."

"Well, he said that he would come to the group meetings and do his part of the work only if I go on a date with him. So, I told him I would to make you happy. Tadaaaaaaa!" I said stretching my hands to each in the opposite direction gesturing what people do when shouting tada.

"So, he likes you?"

"Nah."

"Then why would he wanna go on a date with you?"

"Because I'm amazing! Duh!"

He looked at me with a blank expression.

"Bailey!"

"Fine, I don't know okay? He just wants it. Maybe it's because Meggy and I are the only ones who don't fall to his knees praying for a day when he would notice us?"

"Why didn't he ask Meggy for a date?"

"Do you think that my profession is reading, analyzing and understanding Damon's emotions? I don't know dude. So what do you say?"

"I really don't like this idea, but the project is too important for me and I can't lose points from the overall grade. Go ahead. Thank you Bay for doing all of this for me. I love you."

"Let's be real everyone loves me and you're always welcome. Now the problem is how am I gonna persuade him to go on a date with me?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, we were supposed to go on a date today, but as you told me you would come I cancelled the date probably like 5-10 or so minutes before the time we had to meet and he saw that I cancelled the date with him for you."

"I like it," he said smiling.

"That wasn't the point of what I said Matt."

"You'll do that don't worry and now let's do a movie time."

"I thought you'd never say that again!"

Though I pretended to be happy, I couldn't get Damon's a little sad and really angry face out of my head. I had to be morally prepared to talk to him.

This is my first chapter after having started the semester at the university! I'm so happy I finally got the time to come back to my story.
