"Muffins, I had no idea your ex would be there. I'm sorry," Sublime was saying.

"Why are you sorry," Drew walked in on the conversation. He looked good in a white flannel shirt and tie with black slacks. Drew worked for N.A.S.A.- nerdy and smokin' hot but nothing like the oiled down sleek and huge muscles Nick possessed. I shake my head. Why am I thinking of him?

"She lost my money on a scratcher," I lied.

"Oh. Aren't the odds of you actually winning that thing is one to a million."

"That's the lottery, baby." I stalked up kissing him on the lips. It was nothing like when Nick kissed me. Why am I thinking of that fool again? It was getting irritating. I'm mad as hell at Sublime.

There was a knock on the door.

"Who are you?" Drew asked whoever was on my doorstep.

"I'm Pound Cake, Muffins' cousin... twice removed." It was Nick standing there with his bags. He gazed over Drew's head beaming at me. Pound Cake? What the fuck? I'm so sick of his buffoonery. "Hey cuz, I'm movin' in." I face-palm. This fool got to go.

"Funny, Muffins never mentioned you."

Nick grabbed Drew by the collar and pulled him up to the tips of his toes, so they were nose to nose. "Are you calling me a liar?"

"N-N-No," Drew sputtered and I had to save him.

I sighed. "Put him down, cuz."

Nick smiled in triumph.
