Aspyn laughed as she shut off her phone and placed it onto her wooden bedside table. To be fair, Quackity was right, she really did need to fix her sleep schedule, but she continued to find herself awake in the dark hours of the night. Some nights, she would try to sleep, but to no prevail. So being awake until 8 AM with no sleep became almost second nature to her.

She moved to North Carolina when she turned eighteen, with her friend Jaslene. It wasn't a difficult decision to move either; both Jaslene and Aspyn had come from strict families, which was the original encouragement for the move in the first place.

Coming from a Filipino household, Aspyn's parents were naturally strict. And being the youngest of three, she was placed under the strictest rules for her own protection. Her older siblings weren't as watched over — she was the baby of the family.

When her oldest brother Karsyn moved out when he turned twenty two — which was seven years ago — she knew she wanted to follow that same path. Aspyn was only fifteen at the time, but she was sure. Her sister, Rhea, was the middle child, and the pride and joy of the family. She was three years older than her, now twenty-five, studying for her masters in Nursing.

That was the path Aspyn's mom wanted her to follow as well.

But instead, she looked up to her brother. Karsyn moved to LA at the young age of twenty-two to follow his dreams of becoming a YouTuber. Despite the slight change in plan mid-way, he was doing really well. He blew up as a gaming streamer on Twitch, and made many friends. His roommate Thomas, known on the internet as Sykkuno, had encouraged him to give it a try, and he instantly fell in love with it.

Their parents were disappointed, and constantly reprimanded him for his choices. They would continue to remind him how he's "throwing away his future for video games," and ignored the fact that he was successful. Even when he had hit 1 million Twitch followers a few months ago, they had said nothing of the matter.

Rhea and Aspyn, on the other hand, were extremely proud of their older sibling.

Karsyn's video game love was similar to Aspyn's of art. She loved art even from a young age, and knew she wanted to pursue a career in it. Her mom thought it was silly, and should only be seen as a hobby rather than a career. She didn't think she would succeed, and still thought lowly of Aspyn's job.

But she had made a good living whilst doing what she loved. She made animations and took on small jobs for YouTubers and Twitch streamers to make emotes, banners, and thumbnails. She also landed a part-time job as an illustrator for a publication company, which she loved as equally.

Karl Jacobs became one of Aspyn's closest friends, who she had met through her first job in North Carolina at Bath and Body Works. Although the two didn't talk much, other than him asking about the wallflowers, they reconnected weeks later during a game of Among Us with Aspyn's brother's friend group. Her brother had influenced her with his love of video games at a young age, so she was familiar with many, and would play them on stream from time to time. Though, most of Aspyn's streams were mainly art-related.

Though both her brother and Karl, Aspyn had made other friends as well. She became close with Niki, who in turn, introduced her to Wilbur, Tommy, and Tubbo. Karsyn introduced her to Bretman Rock, one of her idols for a long time, and it was an honour her to be able to call him her friend.

When Alex, known as Quackity on the internet, had gone to visit Karl, Aspyn had met him as well. They already knew of each other prior to his visit, but his visit brought them significantly closer. He was now one of her closest friends.

Aspyn was doing relatively well with her life, as was her brother, but her parents only paid attention to Rhea. You could imagine how awkward it was whenever the duo visited their home in Michigan.

Aspyn tossed her short hair into a low ponytail as she exited her room and greeted Jaslene, who was sat on the couch on her phone. "Mornin' Jas," She yawned as she walked to the fridge. She began making her daily intake of coffee; one of many, actually.

"You've got to fix your sleep schedule, Aspyn." Jaslene chuckled with a shake of her head. Grey's Anatomy could be heard in the background, along with light traffic from the road immediately outside. There was a light breeze that met Aspyn's bare arms, causing goosebumps to rise on her tinted skin.

Bringing the mug that was filled to the brim with the rich coffee flavour to her mouth, she shrugged. "If it was that easy, I'd be knocked out before twelve." She laughed along with her roommate.

The pair of friends ate breakfast, well, Aspyn's breakfast and Jas' lunch, together while binge-watching Grey's Anatomy for yet another time. Aspyn took off to her room just before the evening, with the intent to finish a landscape painting she had been neglecting for a while now.

She took the needed paints and tools, the sound of instrumental music played softly in the background. It wasn't always this calm when she painted, but it was nice to have leisure time. She wasn't as busy as she typically was on a regular Tuesday— mostly because her work wasn't as demanding at the moment.

Regardless, she was thankful to have enough time to work on the naturalistic piece.

One of the main reasons why Aspyn loved her job was the flexibility— She had enough time to decide when she worked in order to finish before a specific date. It wasn't a boring 9 to 5 job that she dreaded to have at the age of eighteen, no offence to Jaslene of course. Aspyn had never wanted that type of job.

She finished a good portion of the painting when she spotted a Twitter DM from Rae, one of her brothers friends in California.

"Angel" is what Aspyn went by on the internet. She didn't mind having her name in the internet, but she decided that it would be better for privacy purposes. Karsyn had gone by "Kardel", but he had recently revealed his name accidentally on stream.
