《The Immortals》One Step In

Julie and Elijah hadn't said a word since their fight. They both had important things to think about and consider. Did she want to become a vampire? Did he want her to? What would happen if she did? Would Elijah ever consider taking the cure?
Julie didn't want that. She didn't want him to change for her. She knew he would always stay with his family and if he ever became mortal it would be the end of "always and forever". And there was something appealing to becoming immortal too. She was so young, the mere thought of growing old and die seemed so distant.
They were both reading next to each other on the couch, or at least they were pretending to read, when Elijah's phone rang.
"It's Rebekah," he told her before he picked up.
Julie watched his face fall.
"What?" he let out in a whisper as if he hadn't heard right the first time.
"What is it? What's wrong?" Julie asked, worried.
"What do you mean, Kol is dead?"
Julie hoped she had misheard it too. Elijah was speechless. She could see his anger and his sadness on his face. She gently took the phone from him.
"Rebekah?" she said with a trembling voice. "What happened?"
Elena. Again. Elena happened. Everyone did everything for her and she didn't care if people died. She was now killing them herself.
Everything went black as anger took over her. She couldn't see anything or feel anything else than rage. The windows, the glasses, the mirrors, even the lightbulbs, all exploded one after the other. She wasn't conscious of it nor could she hear Elijah calling her name.
"Julie stop! Come back!" he yelled but he couldn't reach her. That was it. Darkness. It was so easy to get lost. "Julie!" Finally, she gasped out of it. "Hey," he whispered, taking her face in his hands. "Are you okay?"

"I'm sorry," she breathed out. "I don't know what happened," she cried.
Elena was always a trigger for her. She wanted nothing more than kill her for what she did to Elijah, and now Kol.
"I'm sorry," she repeated.
"It's okay," he said, hugging her. "It's okay."
Kol was the only person qualified enough they knew to help her control it. And now he was gone.
"She doesn't deserve the cure," she said. "She doesn't."
"Niklaus wants her to be human again," Elijah said. "He wants more hybrids."
"What are we gonna do?" she sobbed.
"About what?" he asked, wiping the tears of her cheeks with his thumbs.
"About Kol. He's dead!"
A tear fell down his cheek as he hugged her once more. He had already lost two brothers, how would he be able to convince his sister to stay immortal?

Party Leveling
{A new notification has arrived.} In front of a few people, these hologram-looking messages appeared and changed their lives in entirely different forms. Things such as growing stronger, becoming smarter, feeling more agile, became possible within short periods of time from that point onwards. The one who regretted his weak healing abilities for years began to chase after the magic powers that could turn reason and sense upside down while keeping his goal, this duty to the wrongs he committed. The other one, who complained about his lack of strength, strove towards the path of an unbeatable champion to protect those he held dear. When the person who had everything found a path to desire for more, not fearing the consequences and the obstacles, he also began to walk onwards to a new life. And among them, the one who walked aimlessly but also never stepped down on the choices he made along the way, was the one who couldn’t be ignored nor disrespected by anyone. The “Player” system that they all obtained, and which granted them several abilities, knowledge and directions, was also the beginning of an entire new era in this world where monsters, magic and technology, were already common and wide-spread. There’s not a single hero, but after committing mistakes after mistakes, learning from the painful and thorny path that they take, and growing as people with the people that surround them, then someday... there will certainly be saviors. Until one day, he found a mysterious article that made him keep wondering, What would I do if I could stop the time? That encounters, that thought process, lead Grey to experience a peculiar phenomenon, which is the gateway to the bizarre nation of Chronosseum. The land claimed to be located between reality and imagination, beyond thoughts and perceptions, and through space and time. People compete there, which might be the life-death situation, make their way to be the best player in the nation. However, the consequences of the game will be given in the 'mortal' world. Join Grey make his glorious way in Chronosseum, and uncover its truth! Also, he needs to answer that question too! Note: The story heavily relies on the characters' thought processes, characters' interactions with its dramas, mystery, and back-stories aspects, so expect the slice of life thingy. As for now, I can't say this is an action-packed story, but slowly, it will be for sure. Also, I'm planning not too heavily focused on the MC, as you'll see the story told from various perspectives. Tags and content warnings are checked for the sake of my creativity in the future, it might or might not be included. This is my first novel, and also, English is not my native language, I beg your mercy. But I am open to any feedback and constructive criticism, so let's make the story more enjoyable to read! Chronosseum is scheduled to release one chapter every three days (for now).
