"That was your last trip to the bayou. What is is with you and those wolves, anyway?" Rebekah asked as she pours a drink in two glass cups.
I was walking down the stairs towards them with Angel in my arms as she sucks on her pacifier and playing with her rattle. "I feel like we're connected somehow. I don't know. Maybe it's just some pipe dream that I have of finding any real family out there, but sometimes when I feel like it's me against the world, it keeps me going." Hayley said.
Rebekah gives one of the glasses to her. Hayley looks down at it and furrows her eyebrows before looking back up at Rebekah. "Oh right."
Rebekah pulls it back and was about to drink it when I snatched it from her and gulped it down in one breath. I looked back them. "I need it." I said and they left it at that.
"Well, if you ask me, family is a pain in the behind, and as for being in it alone, how dare you? We don't ruin a perfectly fabulous pair of boots traipsing through the bayou for just anyone." Rebekah said speaking for the both of us.
"Rebekah's right. I got shot in the head for you. If I wasn't so invested in keeping you safe I wouldn't be here." I said
"Because you fancy my brother." Rebekah accuses me.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I said and took another drink.
The door to the house was slammed opened and Klaus walks in. "Nik, finally. What—" Rebekah cut herself off as Elijah walks through the door. He smiles at her and she ran towards him, embracing Elijah in a hug.
They pulled away and Elijah looks behind her to look at me then towards Hayley leaving his eyes to linger on her. I walk towards him and held my hand out for him to shake. "Hi, Phoenix Fire but just call me Phoenix. It's a pleasure to finally meet the good brother." I greeted him and he smiled down at me, taking my hand and shaking it.

"Now that you're home, is your first plan to kill Niklaus?" Rebekah asked him but he was to busy watching Hayley leave the room. "Excuse me just a moment." Elijah said then followed after Hayley.
"Come on, luv. It's time to put the little princess to sleep." Klaus said then took Angel out of my arms because she was yawning. I watched as he walks up the stairs and I looked back in front of me to see Rebekah staring me down with a smirk in her face.
"H-He was just being a good friend." I defended but she wasn't having it so I sped away before she could interrogate me.

Elijah called us back down so we could have a discussion. "Everything that brought us here to New Orleans was a lie— This story that Sophie Deveraux fabricated, this struggle for control of the French Quarter, this war between vampires and witches, wasn't over territory at all. This was over Davina. 8 months ago, Sophie Deveraux and her sister Jane-Anne lost everything. Now, 4 months after that, a young, pregnant girl wanders into their restaurant. Suddenly, all hope is renewed. Jane-Anne actually sacrificed her life so that her sister could use you to find Davina. If Sophie Deveraux is successful in capturing Davina, she can return Jane-Anne's daughter back to life. We thought we'd come here to wage a war for power. This is about family. In order to return her niece to life, Sophie Deveraux will fight to the death. That makes her more dangerous than anyone."

Dungeon Darwinism: Deepest Dungeon
Dungeons are a lot like sea turtles. They’re born in clutches of dozens, if not hundreds. A hundred may be born at one time, buried in still burning cities, or in forests where the canopy hides the sky, or in ocean trenches at the bottom of the sea. But only one in a clutch ever makes it to the surface. Everyone knows about dungeons— monstrous factories that emerge out of the earth, full of riches and Arcana and power— and monsters. But most of humanity only know about the dungeons that make it. Mark doesn’t know anything about dungeons. He isn’t from this world, and only as a victim of circumstance has he become an unwilling half of a dungeoncore. The other half is a Dark Lord. (Rewrite)

“Hello! My humble audience! I, the Bard of the North, am going to tell you a tale. Nothing new, nothing old. A story of a hero, some may say, others a poor boy who was hated by the world.” The storyteller paused as he waited, right timing was everything when telling a story. Pacing… Too slow and the audience became bored then left without tossing even the smallest of coins. If he spoke too fast and rushed the story. It would leave the audience confused and having no reason to be impressed. So like any good storyteller, the Bard has to do a balancing act of sorts. Not too slow, not too fast. Just perfectly in the middle. “In a shattered country in the south, a novice princeling has the ambition to mend a torn tapestry that is his birthplace. Struggling to fend off those who would usurp the throne in an unending civil war spanning centuries. A mercenary that left only death in his wake, unable to stave off the monotony and peace of life. He looks back at the path laden with bodies, wondering if it was all worth it. Wandering souls summoned by a madman, travel away from a wasteland in a foreign land, the first alone, the others as companions. A deity, ancient in her years, waiting to be freed from a duty she no longer enjoys. For all these people and their stories, none are the hero of this tale. No, the hero is not grand, not wise, not ready.. he was punished for nothing of his doing, who was an outcast that was unloved by many, including his father.” This was always the big reveal novices use to jump off into their story. He did not start here, instead, like any good fishermen, he set the bait and waited until the fish bit before pulling. As he saw the audience's eyes focus, he then started the backstory. The harness, that stopped the listeners from having metaphorical whiplash. The foreshadowing. “But that is not where the story starts. No, not even the hero's birth. Where the story begins, is the boredom of the deity, a deity many know of. She who hunts for the impossible, the guide for those who have lost the path, the Huntress of Mallon--” A small pause, a short breath. “--All old names for a single powerful being that has roamed the grounds of this continent longer than any line of kings or queens, lords or ladies. A being of worship for many an individual…” One last breath. And he began singing the first verse.
