《The Kings Mate》Chapter 16

Malia POV
The Monday after was pretty hard. I hadn't seen my parents all weekend. Mason said he contacted them and told them what had happened. He said they totally understood. I was given a room to sleep in so I wasn't hogging up masons things. It was a pretty small room, but I have my own bed and own bathroom so I guess I can't complain. We had decided I would stay in the pack house during the weekends but my own home during the week. Mason said that during the weekends he would give me basic training before I move on to the other 17-18 year olds.
I trudged to my last Monday class which was art. I loved art because it was the one place I could forget about the out side world and just empty out my feelings onto a piece of paper or a canvas. I often drew scenery or animals. I took my seat on the stool next to my partner. I think her name Justine but I wasn't sure. We normally did our work in silence too interested in our art to talk. She kind of looked the rebel type. She had half of her head shaved and had a lip piercing. She always had on jeans with rips all over them. But anyways.
I sat on my stool and I pulled out my note book with the many sketches I've worked on for the past 2 years. My parents had let me go to this art camp last summer. They knew I wasn't happy about moving back so they let me go. I met so many wonderful people. Especially this one girl, her name was Rachel, she had fiery red hair. She always had paint all over her clothes. She had the bunk under me and around the 3rd day we were the only ones up so we just started talking. We were attached at the hip for the whole summer. I didn't realize it but I had started drawing a wolf which was Rachel's favorite animal. It's clear now that she was a werewolf. She always left on a full moon and her obsession with wolves was a little weird. She always had meat. I should talk to her soon. She lives in Manhattan in an apartment with her parents.
"Class if I could have your attention please," The teacher says grabbing my attention."You will be doing a painting of your choice. I want you to pour your heart into this painting. To let every feeling you have buried down inside out. You have a week. Good luck." With that she sat down at her desk with this large canvas and began to draw something she had been working on since I got here. I looked at the blank canvas in front of me. I picked up my black sketch pencil and began to sketch the out line of the image in my mind.

By the end of the school I was happy to get to walk home and just think. I've haven't been alone all week end. I don't know how I'm going to live the rest of my life when I graduate in a pack house. How can I live in a house with like over 900 people? How can I lead the new generations to come as a Luna? how can live the rest of my life in constant fear that a stray could rip my throat out and kill me? UGH! Rouge! How can I live my life with a whole pack watching me?
I rub my eyes only to notice that tears had started to stream down my face. I look to the side to notice I had ended up in front of my house. I let out I sigh, whipped the tears off of my face, And walked up to the door. I knock softly on the door. No answer. I check my phone and see that my mom had texted me.
Work started at 2p.m. wont be home till 2a.m. your father should be home by 6. If he's not their is money on the counter for take out. Love you.
I let out a sigh and drop my hand to my sigh. I dig through my back pack for my house keys. After a while of looking I still can't find them. I look through the window and see my keys sitting on the table next to the door. I lean my forehead against the cold glass and let out a sigh. I look at my phone and scroll through my contacts and click call.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" I ask.
"Yeah anything, is everything alright?" Mason asks concern in is voice.
"I left my keys on the side table when I got home Friday. So how do I make my claws come out so I can pick the lock?" I ask looking at my finger nails.
"Okay so concentrate on claws and nothing else. Focus on your claws and not your wolf." He tells me. I close my eyes and let out a breath. I concentrate on claws. when I open my eyes they're there. Sharp and deadly.
"I did it." I tell him letting out a breath of relief.

"Okay great, is their anything else you need to do or know?" He asks. I shake my head but realize that he can't see me.
"No. Thanks." I say and stick my claw into the key hole and turn it. The door doesn't open at first. but after a couple of tries it pops open.
"Alright, Bye. I'll see you tomorrow." He says.
"See you tomorrow." I hang up and shut the door behind me. I lock it so no one can break in.
I head into the kitchen. I turn on the light looking at the ground. But when I look up I jump back a little.
"Who the hell are you?" I ask raising an eyebrow at the strange girl.
"I'm Camila. I'm your sister. Technically speaking." She says And I just look at her even more confused.
"Let me explain. Our father was in love with my mom before he met your mom. When they were really young too. Like maybe teenagers. Eventually they had me. They started to fight. A lot. They broke up. They went to court to see who would win custody. My mom one. I saw dad maybe one or two times after that. He recently got in touch with me and told me to come down for a week. So I agreed. He told me everything about being a werewolf. He wants you to take me to your pack house to see if I'm one too. If I'm not he said he can get this memory wiping drink so I wont remember anything. About a werewolves, about you, abut anything." She tells me. "I know it's a lot to take in, but I just need to know. If I'm some sort of supernatural I would like to know."
"Um... Just let me call some one." I say and back out of the room.
I dial Mason.
"I need you to come over here. Like now." I say and hang up. I slowly walk back into the kitchen.
"Um I have some one coming. Can I get y-you anything?" I stutter.
"No I'm fine thank you." she smiles. I look her up and down. She's much taller than I am. with fitted skinny jeans and high heeled boots. Her wavy black hair is defiantly from her mom. But her eyes are defiantly from dad. The green with blue mixed in. Just like dads, and mine.
"Well how old are you?" I ask taking a seat at the kitchen table.
"26. You?" She asks me. so that's like 9 years older tan me right?
"17." I answer and shake my head. The door bell rings and I spring to my feet. I walk to the door where Mason stands.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?" He asks cupping my cheeks. He rubs his thumb rubbing across my cheek. I placed my hands over his.
"I'm fine really. But... um... I have a small situation." I tell him opening the door wider revealing Camila.

Law of Divine Gates
What is transcendence? There are those on countless planets who believe creation ended with them. The notion that they are God's chosen people, and nothing else existed beyond them became a firmly rooted ideal. An arrogant assertion you say? Well there you have it, ignorance is something mortals never have a lack of. This is not transcendence, to transcend is to explore the limits of existence, to constantly grow, and lay claim to all the universe has to offer. Transcendence is to not be constrained by ideals, or the planet of your birth, to transcend is to leave behind your Mortal shell, to challenge heaven's law, and formulate your own. Heaven would see mortals bowed in servitude until the end of their days, to reincarnate, and begin another lifetime of worship, giving praise to the gods. A young demon accidentally stepped through the gateway of endless possibilities, will he succumb to heaven's authority?
