《Orion》68

It was a dark day.
Much darker then ever.
"Orion!!!!"
The voice of Zephyra came out clear and audible, even from far where she stood.
"Run!" She said to him.
His lips parted slowly, making way for him to speak, yet no words came out.
He turned his head back to look at what was going on behind him. The amount of bodies falling to the ground, made him grip his blade tighter.
Swords were clinging high up in the air, while blood puffed out in different directions, a massive war going on.
It was a battle to the death. A battle between Costa and his army, all against Orion, Elpida, Aiden and Zephyra.
Costa had laid an ambush on them with his hundreds of armies, formerly Cedric's.
They were outnumbered and wouldn't be sure to win, even if it was even only twenty men they were battling.
Powers surged through the earth filling Elpida up with much strength, while she brought soldiers down with just a flick of her eyes and movement of her wrists. Her powers had grown stronger than ever, ever since she was brought back from The Valley.
She could feel the powers containing her so much, it felt like she needed to be put out.
Sailing in a quick motion and appearing at different scenes, was what she did, catching soldiers unaware, twisting and freezing their hearts by just a look of her eyes.
Orion turned his gaze forward, and right there feet away from him, stood Costa all alone, peering at him, daring him to step forward.
Orion felt weak already, having been in a brawl with much of Costa's soldiers, fighting them off, while trying to stay alive.
He turned his gaze to the side, seeing the face of the one person he needed the most in a moment as bad as this.
Sighting her made him feel much relaxed and better composed.
He watched as she fought so hard with different soldiers, not caring what it took, making sure to strike down every attacker that came her way.
Remembering her words the day before, while they talked about what could befall them and the dangers that waited in front, he had insisted that he went on the battle against Costa alone, yet, not even Aiden nor Bellona agreed to it.

"Who cares about rules of combat?.
When you've got a reason to fight, Someone to protect, you pick up that sword, pushing aside the fact that you're terrible at handling one of it.
I've grown to know that a sword is deadlier, when wielded by an angry man, be him a fighter or not"
Bellona's words replayed in his head
"We're all gonna go with you on this"
"We've come this far, we're not backing out now"
He was so forward in letting them know that he would only be endangering their lives, seeing as to how dangerous Costa was, but they still decided to go with him.
"You've got little strength left, Orion" Costa uttered in a low voice.
"You all are outnumbered, there's no way you're gonna survive this. Stop trying to be a hero, and just walk away" He added.
"You see, the difference between you and I Costa, is that I never wish to be a hero. I don't even care about the praise or glory that comes along. I do what I want, 'cause that's what drives me" Orion said to him.
"You're entirely wrong, if you think for once that I'd turn around and retreat"
"In fact, I feel more strengthened now"
The trotting of fast approaching horses grabbed all of their attention, as they turned to look at what was going on.
Five horses rode towards the battle ground, and on one of the horses was Cedric leading the rest.
He jumped down immediately, grabbing his sword and fighting the men who were once in command to him, but just as his friends joined in, he turned his gaze to one person.
Zamarion.
He lunged at him, both tumbling to the grounds, punching, kicking and beating each other up.
"Maybe we're not outnumbered after all" Orion called to Costa.
Costa without hesitating threw a ball of force at Orion, knocking him off his feet, and making him slightly unconscious.
For minutes, Costa had been doing that, not giving Orion even a slight chance to get a feet close to him.
His motive was to render him weak, and then strike him, when least expected.
He raised his fingers at Orion, drawing him off his feet, and then sending him flying to the other end with a wild crash of wind.

Repeating the same thing, he drew him closer, bringing him nearer to him, and then peering into his eyes.
"I pity you" He spat.
Orion took the moment as an opportunity to strike a move.
He kicked at the chest of Costa, smashing his head against his, both tumbling to the grounds.
Costa got up immediately, advancing towards Orion, but halted as someone from behind yelled his name.
He turned around slowly to stare at Zephyra who had pain filled in her eyes.
"It's time for you to end all of this!" She yelled at him.
Storm clouds rumbled ahead, as the eyes of Zephyra shone brightly, a white light forming around the circles of her eyes, showcasing her powers.
But even with all of that, Costa was able to strike her out with an utterance of his words, pulling her off the grounds with force, and striking her hard against a large tree.
She stretched her arms forward, using her last strength to take him out, but he was too quick for her.
He lifted her off the grounds, landing her on a poking branch of tree which thrusted out her chest.
She fell to the grounds, not completely dead, gasping to be healed. If she didn't leave the scene immediately, her being would be gone.
Costa soon conjured a force of whirlwind, surrounding and englobing Zephyra, sweeping her away.
Breeze sailed from the spot where she disappeared giving the atmosphere a cold feel.
Costa had killed her in less than a moment, wiping out her existence completely.
Even the forces of nature could feel it.
Zephyra was dead.
The joy of knowing that, filled Costa immediately, proud that he was a step closer to his achievements.
He turned around immediately, ready to go finish it all up, but froze in his tracks as someone punched something into him.
He looked at the face of the person, and just as he dreaded, it was Orion.
A caltrop was sticking out his chest, and he could feel the insides of him burning in pain.
He wasn't suppose to feel any pains. He was far more powerful than that. So what on earth could be happening to him, and why did it feel like his powers were draining.
"I swore to you I'd kill you" Orion gritted his teeth.
"I made certain of that" He added.
Orion stared at the Caltrop which Cedric had used to kill his father, hanging out on Costa's chest.
The blade tore into him, cutting through his skin.
All of the soldiers suddenly stood back, watching as, Costa fought to breathe. They dropped their weapons to the ground immediately, stopping the attack and retreating.
Veins appeared on Costa's neck while he gagged blood, spitting out and coughing. His eyes had suddenly turned bloodshot, while his skin appeared grey and scaly.
"I- he began, but didn't get a chance to finish as his body crumbled into thousands of ashes, leaving no trace of him in sight.
The wind blew the ashes away, traveling through the earth, wiping out the evil which once resided.
Orion slumped to his knees immediately, sighing and gasping for air.
He felt someone's arms wrapped around him, and he looked up immediately to see Bellona embracing him, while she knelt down right in front of him.
A smile appeared on his lips, seeing her face and instantly, he pulled her chin to his, planting a kiss on her lips, and brushing away the portion of hair which fell to her eyes.
"You did it" She said to him.
He stared at her, watching as tears filled her eyes and noticing the joy which came along. Such joy he had never seen before.
It came to his knowing that being with her was all he could ask for.
"I love you" He finally brought himself to say, after being in denial for so long.
This time he was sure of himself, and he wasn't letting anything ruin it.
He wrapped the girl whom he had come to adorn, in his hands, warming up in her embrace and feeling the peace he hadn't felt for days.
He wanted this forever.

How A Villain Builds A Kingdom
READ THE WARNING Amadeus Devereux was born into a rich and powerful household. But he did not pursue power like his brothers because of his love for art, flowers, and poetry. Until one day, a servant arrived in the garden to see Amadeus smiling as if he was looking at a flower. Only this time, Amadeus was looking at the mangled corpses of two gardeners. ————————— Set in a fantasy world where magic exists, follow Amadeus as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Will he be able to feel emotions as others do? This is a novel that I wrote because I got tired of all the tropes that had transmigration, regression, deus-ex machina, etc. where everything that makes the main character reach the top is left to luck. —————————

The Destiny Detour
In a kingdom putting together the pieces after a series of devastating magical wars, trouble is brewing. At least that's what the Seer's vague warning to Princess Lillya claims. The Destiny Detour is third in the Black Pearl Series, but the events of this story occur 10 years after the first two, and it focuses on different characters in the world. It should be able to stand alone. If you are interested, the beginning of the series is available on Amazon and most e-book places: https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B01AYLLKK8

Voidsong (A NaNoWriMo 2018 winner)
Synopsys: The Empire thought humanity died, and forgot all about it. The Empire is mistaken. A Note From the Author: This story was written as a National Novel Writing Month 2018 entrant. As such, its entire 50,000+ word length was written between November 1, 2018 and November 31, 2018. Overall, I would consider this no more than a polished draft. In that vein, the chapters have no names, only numbers. Special thanks to Chronus on youtube for answering my questions on NATO radio procedures! My Apologies to the Finnish Language, which I have abused in (probably) unforgivable ways to create Twisted Empire names. If anyone is interested, break the names up by commas and toss them into your favorite translation program (I used Google Translate, and tried to avoid umlauts and other accents) for some semi bilingual boni. If I got something wrong (and I know I did… somewhere…) let me know over on reddit and I will see what I can do to fix the mistake. Lyrics, where included, are cited in footnotes.
