《Orion》63

The day had turned dark already, giving few light to people out in the open of the woods.

Nocturnal animals had come out to prey, hoping to hunt down their meal for as long as the night lasted.

Owls hooted from trees nearby, while frogs croaked from nearby lakes, the sound unpleasant to the ears of any human.

"It's useless telling you how sorry I am" Cedric began.

He was stood by a large rock, staring at Orion who had his gaze on something else.

"I don't want you anywhere around me" Orion gritted his teeth.

Cedric paused for a moment, staring at him, and then he went on.

"No matter how hard I search for words, they just don't come out. I don't wanna tell you that I'm sorry, I wanna show it to you" He said

"I've been the worst person to grace the grounds of this earth, and I prolly will still be, but having just one person forgive me when the rest don't, gives me hope of making up for my sins"

"My ears hold onto the whispers of the evil that passes through the earth, all of this, due to your outrageous actions, Cedric! I never wanted anything more than to rip your skin away from your bones stomping on them and then feeding it to the animals of the night. But look at me, standing face in front of you, unable to bring myself to do things I yearned for. I've betrayed my heart by forgiving you, perhaps my father too, but nothing's lost. For there's something far more dangerous than your evil. Something that calls for my sword"

Orion uttered, turning to walk away, but halted at the sound of Cedric's voice.

"I'm sorry Orion" He heard Cedric say.

"It's hard to ignore all that has happened, but please accept this from me" He took out an object, stretching it out for Orion to take.

It was a caltrop. A deadly weapon, and Cedric's favorite.

"It was given to me by my father, it's the very one I used in killing your father"

"I don't want to have something that has to do with the death of my father!" Orion yelled

"It might seem crazy, but that's the only way to get rid of the trauma. Facing what killed him, facing the beast in me"

"I believe the caltrop has found the best person to be with. You"

Orion stared at him for a long while, peering at the caltrop, and then into Cedric's eyes, trying to see if he could read through his expression, and understand all he was trying to do.

He thought back to the last moment he had with his father, how he watched him pass on. That memory stayed fresh in him, and it brought pains to his heart.

Killing Cedric, was what he promised himself. But now, he couldn't even pick his blade up, and strike it at the man who ordered the attack to kill his father.

Clenching his jaw hard, he finally took the caltrop from the outstretched hands of Cedric, moving away from him completely, not wanting to see him anywhere in sight.

He moved to the other end where no one was,

and sat down close to a tree, staring at the caltrop.

Unable to decipher the fact that he was holding what killed his father in his palms. He wanted to push it away, stomp on it, and throw it into the deepest parts of the Ocean, but he couldn't, instead, he just grazed his fingers on it, observing every part of the weapon.

"Are you alright?" He heard a voice from behind the trees say.

His gaze rested forward, not bothering to check who it was.

He could tell already it was Bellona, and especially didn't want her to meet him in such state.

"I'm fine" He lied.

She shuffled on the grounds next to him, staring at the side of his face, noticing the pain in his eyes, as he turned to gaze at her for just a moment.

"You should be with your friend. She needs you" Orion uttered to her.

"It's about Cedric. Isn't it?" He heard Bellona say.

He gave no response, but turned his face away.

"I'm sorry you had to go through this, deciding against what you fought for" She muttered to him.

"You of all people have no idea how I feel" He clenched his teeth.

"I want to be left alone, Bellona" He added in a low voice.

"Orion, killing him would have done nothing" She spoke.

"I knew you would say that!" He yelled at the top of his voice, getting to his feet, and moving steps away from her.

"Orion" She called his name, stepping closer to him.

"It's the truth" She muttered

"What truth?" He asked.

"Tell me!"

"If you had to come face to face with the killer of your Father, would you let them go?" His voice rose as he spoke, while he hid his eyes away from her, hiding the tears which built up there.

"I wouldn't kill them" She murmured in low breaths, staring at his back which was turned to her.

"I didn't even get to know my parents" He heard her say.

He still had his back turned to her, hearing her speak. She soon came over to meet him, standing right in front of him, with her eyes peering into his.

"I'm so sorry about the death of your father, but you have to let it go" She said softly to him.

Her hands grazed the side of his face, picking on the tears which rolled out his left eye.

"Raging about his death, will only drive you doing things you'd later regret" She uttered.

"Then that's what I want" He spat.

"I held him in my arms right before he passed on"

"I can't forget"

"Everytime I close my eyes, I relieve that moment, it haunts me always, telling me to go out there, putting an end to the man who caused it!" He yelled.

"Orion" Bellona called his name.

He stared down at her hands which rested lightly on his arms.

Noticing how his eyes peered at her fingers which were on his hands, she took her hands away from him immediately, apologizing and taking a step away

"Sorry" She apologized.

His eyes watched her every movement, noticing how she looked away, and how she then brought her eyes to his for just a burning second.

Quietly, he moved closer to her, peering at her face.

"If you had the chance to meet your parents, and right when you did, someone came around to kill them, would you spare the life of the killer?" He question in a low voice.

"Orion" She sighed.

"Would you?" He asked yet again.

"Yes, Orion"

"Yes, I'd spare their life, despite them cutting short the only moment I had with my parents. The ones I didn't get to know, sta-

She didn't get a chance to finish, as Orion crashed his lips onto hers, pulling her body closer to his.

The hold felt warm and comforting in his, kissing her lips softly, he grabbed and held onto her waist with his other arm.

He felt pleased as she returned the kiss, running her hands through his hair and wrapping her arms around his neck.

Picking her up from the grounds, he advanced towards the trees, laying her down and taking his upper clothing off. She ran her hands on his chest, grazing on them, while he planted kisses from her neck to her collarbone.

Slowly, she unlaced her dress, unknowingly teasing him at every second, while he stared, wilding to grab her in his arms.

With the dress off her body, she was half-naked, laying on the cold grounds with Orion above.

Her fingernails dug into his back as he trailed kisses from her bosoms, down to her abdomen.

She felt his fingers trace her curves lightly, rubbing on them while he kissed every part of her body.

Her hands suddenly arched, the moment he grabbed onto her hips, while his lips rested on her bosoms, passing a message through them, as soft moans escaped her lips.

Under the moonlight, they made love, caressing and staying in each other's hold till the dawn of day.
