《Orion》62

"Why is he here?!" Orion roared.
Dropping his sword to the ground in anger, he stared at the man, who he had hunted for days, praying to get a chance to kill.
That same man was the one stood feet away from him, next to Aiden with what seemed to be remorse in his eyes.
"We couldn't just leave him out there, Orion. He had to be brought along" Aiden responded immediately.
"So you saved him" Scoffed Orion.
"You saved a man who had haunted you for years, took your right to live, wiped out your family and friends, and even brought turmoil upon you. That's the man you saved!" He yelled.
"Calm down, okay?" Aiden said to him.
"He needs our help, Orion. He's in much pains as we are"
"Oh, now he needs our help, all because he was betrayed by the commander of his army?" Orion uttered.
He kicked at a rock, cursing and moving away from the rest.
All he had longed for, in seconds became pointless. His anger couldn't be contained, as his emotions came rushing to the surface.
Bellona was sat on the grounds, with Elpida in her arms, getting weaker by the second.
As days passed, Elpida became weaker. Green veins shaped like a spider's web on the side of her neck, became much visible, due to the poisoned shot of the arrow.
Her skin became paler, she could feel life draining out of her body.
Slowly, it was killing her.
Her eyes were blotched with stains here and there, and her lips dry.
"Bellona" She called softly
Her voice came out weak, and raspy, croaking at her utterances.
"I'm right here" Bellona responded immediately.
"You'll be alright, trust me" She added.
Elpida shook her head from side to side, tears stinging her cheeks, while she stared up ahead.

"I won't survive it" She muttered.
"The powers are too strong. I can feel it eating me up already"
"You'll be fine, Elpida. I'm here with you" Bellona said to her.
Her eyes already felt weak, seeing her friend slowly dying. Tears stung her cheeks, while she held onto Elpida.
"If there was something I could do to help, I will" She heard someone say.
She looked up to see Cedric, peering at her and Elpida.
"But this is far beyond my powers" He added.
She said nothing to him, but just turned to look at Elpida.
"We'll get you to safety" She whispered.
"Bellona" A voice called, and then appeared Zephyra, her eyes resting on Elpida.
Bellona stood to her feet immediately, unable to believe it was Zephyra in sight.
"You abandoned us" She said.
"It was for good" Zephyra responded.
"What good?!"
"For days we had no directions, nothing to rely on"
"You all together, are far powerful more than you think, Bellona" Zephyra uttered.
"Despite everything that came your way, you all survived" She added.
"Elpida's dying!" Bellona called to her.
"You have to heal her. Please!" She begged.
"I can't do that, Bellona" She began.
"Powers of Costa is not one to be to toyed with"
"I'm sorry, but I have nothing in me to heal her" Zephyra said in a low voice.
"I beg of you, Zephyra" Bellona uttered.
"I can't watch her die"
Aiden moved over to Bellona, holding her shoulders and comforting her.
"There is only one man that can heal her, and that's Zeno" Zephyra spoke.
"You have to hurry to set him free, and then your friend can be healed"
"Until then, there's nothing I can do"
She turned her attention to Aiden, and with a soft smile on her face, she spoke.

"Saving Cedric was the best choice you made"
"Do not doubt that" She uttered to him.
"Orion will come around..... I understand his pain of staring at the man who killed someone dear to him. He'll definitely get over it"
"But Cedric's not the enemy. He never has been"
"Then why did you send us all on this mission?, in hopes of freeing Zeno and defeating Cedric" Aiden questioned.
"You told us, to defeat Cedric we had to free Zeno. Why would you tell us that if Cedric was never the enemy?" He added.
"Convincing you all to set out on a journey in the name of defeating a man named Costa would have been useless"
"You wouldn't have agreed to it, cause you had no idea who he was, and what evil came with him"
"Cedric's name was the only means I could convince you, seeing as to how you all took hatred of him"
"I'm sorry, I never revealed all of this to you, but now it is known"
"Costa must be stopped, and until Zeno's set free from that palace, we all are in danger"
Her eyes rested on Aiden for a moment, her gaze peering into his, while he watched as she moved lightly.
In an instant, she turned around, sailing away and disappearing with the wind in less than a second.

Trickster's Tale
Be careful when demanding reparations from gods. They rarely own up to their mistakes. Due to a goddess's shortsighted error, Perry finds himself transported to a distant Universe with new proportions and a different identity. Instead of cowering before the deity, he demands she opens a portal home or provides reparations for him and his bereaved family. Unfortunately, standing up for himself doesn't earn Perry respect. Instead, she curses him with cowardice, limiting his combat and magical potential. Little does the goddess know that nothing can stand in the way of Perry's sheer will. If brute strength and arcane might won't get him the justice he desires, wit and creativity will. Perry's first target? A goblin shaman. Then, the world. And so begins, the bard's ballad. Trickster's Tale (Book 1): Is That A Lute In Your Pocket will release on Kindle Unlimited on the 10th of May.Due to KU's exclusivity rules, I've had to take most of book 1 down.Book 1 Bard's Ballad takes place in the same extended Universe as my other story, The Houndsman. It's set on a distant 'disk', though. As a result, the magic system is unique in comparison and has a harder LitRPG system. While the story utilises stats, it doesn't take them seriously and occasionally makes fun of regular LitRPG mechanics.
