The secret got out again in my home town, and, yet again, my family and I were on the run. We could cross that state off. We were packed in tightly in the car, with minimal stuff that we could grab. I didn't really have a whole lot anymore. I learned to pack fast with what I need after the first three times my secret got out.
"Mom, where are we going this time?" I asked from the back seat.
My mother was downing energy drinks, trying to stay awake. Dad was already passed out, it being 3:00 in the morning after all. I couldn't really sleep, couldn't stomach it.
"We're going to try Colorado this time. Grandma was talking to me about a small mountain town we might be able to disappear in for a while," my mother answered.
Colorado...
My mother told me to try and sleep, so I sat back, but I didn't really think I could. This was all my fault again.

This is partly due to growth, but also a result of the character overcoming initial shock and longstanding depression. If you think I could have handled a segment better, by all means, point it out and provide your reasoning and suggestion. Everyone's experience of depression is different, and Tim's is a close representation of my own, so it won't necessarily 'vibe' with everyone. Death, however, was something he usually gave, not to receive. So when death comes to take his life, he awaits in silence, only to be dumbfounded at what is to happen next. This is the story of Nicholas Gray, the Shadow Demon. Note: Story is based on other LitRPGs found on the site such as Dante's Immortality, Necromancer and Co, etc. and on Halo for the majority of the first chapter and possibly later on down the road, I only borrowed things such as the armour and weapons used in the game itself and all credit goes to them for that kind of stuff. I will also perhaps use it to explain his backstroy to further character progression if I can. The cover photo was also a picture I found on the internet and if you wish for credit or for me to take it down just say so and i'll do it as fast as possible. I also don't have a set schedule, and this is just being used to improve my grammar and just as a hobby, nothing more. Brick walls, low ceiling, the room's only feature is a stone altar in the middle. It's not the escape route Shoes hoped for, but he is happy with his discovery nevertheless. The room could be a perfect hideout. Shoes, slave of Miranda Alexia Dawngrove, finds a secret chamber beneath his Mistress's mansion. At first glance it seems to be empty, but he notices a straw mattress in one corner. There is a slave uniform on the makeshift bed. As he picks up the clothes, a small wooden figurine falls to the ground. Rough shape, amateurish carving; it's the exact copy of the statuette Shoes has in his pocket.
