Staying beneath the covers, knowing no safety will come of it. Yet it brings comfort from the unknown in the night. My heart pounds heavy, my mind spins rapidly, my breath grows thin, my body unsteady. My fear becomes near. The creaking fills my ears, soft tapping became louder. It's gaining on me; I think it's found me. My nightmare is my reality. Even though I cannot see it, I know they loom above. The feeling of their grasp gets close. How is it so cold? I beg to God, to answer me, please listen to my prayers. Lord let me see the light again, I grovel my silent pleads. They made no sound, yet were deafeningly loud, I fear what they'll do to me.
