Logan Rojas and Virgil Cloak were the two most desired men in the village.

There was no arguing about it. They lived in a large, wooden cabin, which sat upon a hill near the edge of town, but they were rarely ever seen around the streets. It was speculated that they never left their house, in fear of falling in love.

The two men, knowing just how wanted they were, devised a plan for the townsfolk. Two cats - one for Virgil, the other for Logan - roamed the area. They each had a small tag around their necks, with their owner's names on them.

The game was simple: get the tag, get the boy.

Most people would chase the cats, attempting to trap them with bait or cages. But, the cat always found a way out, slinking away into a nearby alley and escaping. Some truly believed that it was impossible.

Patton was the first to figure out the obvious: don't chase the cat. One day, he was lounging on a wall, doodling on a small piece of paper, when a familiar cat jumped up to join him.

The cat was as white as snow, with black-mittened feet and padded paws. It's blue eyes glimmered in the golden sunlight as it opened its mouth in a yawn. Logan's cat.

Patton smiled, pulling a small cat treat from his pocket and holding it in his fingers, letting the feline nibble it. He had been feeding and playing with it for a while now, focusing on the cat instead of the award.

The cat purred in content and climbed elegantly into Patton's lap, nuzzling into him. Patton felt a smile tug at his lips. He stroked its head with the back of his hand before grabbing its tag and pulling it off, examining it in his hand. So, this is what everyone was going crazy about.

It took Roman a little longer.

The cat was pure black, its eyes a curious purple and it's ears always perked up on alert. It was much more sly than Logan's cat, and much less prone to appear. Virgil's cat.

Its paws clapped together as it attempted to catch the laser. Roman smirked to himself, shining the pointer all over the floor, until the cat lost interest. Instead of chasing the red dot, it cautiously made its way to Roman, where it nuzzled his hand, presenting its tag for him to take.

Roman's smirk grew into a grin as he took the tag with pride and accomplishment. Now to head to the cabin.
