Patton and Roman's flower shop was tucked away, on the edge of a small village bordering the woods. The store itself was a cosy, relaxed place, which made it well-known to the locals. It was notorious for its grand selection of flowers, although it was primarily known for its owners.
Patton was the kindest and most understanding person you would ever meet. He always would listen to whatever his customers had to say, no matter how strange or unusual. He often would help people who were ranting about a bad day, or young teens who were anxious about their first dates, by talking to them for a while as they picked their bouquets.
On the other hand, Roman was more of a talker than a listener. When he wasn't admiring the flowers which he had grown personally, he was helping the customers with recommendations of which flowers to buy for certain things. His nickname was 'Princey', because he always wore a red cloth on his shoulder like a sash, and was constantly singing some sort of Disney song underneath his breath as he sorted the displays of plants.
One day, as Patton was working the register and Roman was refilling their stock of white lilies, another man came bursting through the door. He must've been around Roman's age, with slight anger in his eyes, but a mostly unreadable face. Patton had never seen the man before, although it was quite a small area where everyone knew their neighbour. Before he had much time to think about it, a twenty dollar bill was placed on the counter.
'Look, I'm sorry to come barging in, but how do I passive-aggressively say 'fuck you' with flowers?' The man spoke, his voice sounding throughout the shop.
Roman nearly dropped his bouquet.

Patton snuck a look over at Roman, who was regaining his posture and making a point of not looking at the man. Knowing that Roman preferred 'bad boys' (his words), Patton smirked slightly, a plan hatching in his mind.
'Ah, you'd have to talk to my co-worker, Roman, about that. He's much better at flower meanings than I am.' Patton replied, before calling Roman over and explaining the person's request.
'Okay, Mr..?' Roman began, aiming to get a name from this heavenly human.
'Oh, Virgil. Virgil Blue.' Virgil replied with a small smile, as Roman felt his heart melt.
'V-Virgil, right... so, you'd need... geraniums for stupidity, foxgloves for insincerity, uhm... yeah, foxgloves for insincerity... meadowsweets for uselessness, yellow carnations for disappointment, and red- no! And orange lilies for hatred. Would... would you like me to get those for you?' Roman stumbled his way through the sentence, spotting Patton trying to stifle a snicker from the corner of his eye.
'Oh, if you wouldn't mind!' Virgil spoke in a hushed, grateful tone. Roman took the opportunity to tell Virgil to consider it done, and go to collect the flowers from around the shop into one bouquet.
Roman paced back to the counter, passing the flowers to Virgil and collecting the money, after being told to keep the change. Just as he was about to continue his sorting and daydreaming, he noticed Virgil drop a small piece of white card on his way out of the door.
Going to pick it up and return it, Roman glanced up to notice that Virgil was nowhere to be seen. That was odd. Roman fiddled with the card in his hands, before realising that it had a note written on it, in black pen.
'Hey Roman. It seems that you've fallen for my non-existent charm. I want to see your face again.

-Virgil
PS. You don't have to, if you wouldn't like to.'
Underneath the note, there was a string of numbers, in the same scrawly handwriting: a phone number. Roman felt the heat rise to his cheeks as a massive grin spread on his face, looking back at Patton, who knew what had happened.
'Just remember to use protection, Ro!' Patton laughed, much to Roman's detest.
Roman was definitely going to text the number tonight. He wanted to know how the 'fuck you' flowers went.
Perhaps he could find out on their date.

Almost a Good Person
A memory, a memory of a boy who wanted more than pain, of a girl who wanted more than death, and an Isle that should not exist. The Isle of Red is a small, unassuming, quiet place. It is just large enough for a college, a small town, and maybe even a few more unusual sorts of places. Of course, the townsfolk practically know each other as family. Flush-faced regulars can be found toasting just about anything in the Briar's Brew, then, a few streets away, the same haggle of older women stationed themselves on their perch as they did every day from one of the few balconies in Central Square. They fuss away now, spouting the usual gossip as they watch us all from on high. Then there is the College here on the Isle of Red. My college. It has been often described as an unusual place by a good deal of people on the mainland. If they only would visit -why I am sure they'll soon have a change of heart, they may even come to find it a quaint sort of place, odd but in the same way a tattered old quilt can be both odd looking and warm, and especially soft. We teach mostly the same sort of disciplines here, with fantastic and absolutely normal professors.I must conclude that I am quite smitten with myself. The stage is set with a level of perfection that would have astonished me in my youth. They are coming. Derek will follow her. He knows the weight of reality too intimately, but she will be his true north if only for a short time. A beacon in the storm to show him the stunning pastels and brightness the sun may yet refract through his thinner, sharper pieces. Theoline will lead as she always has- well not always, not yet. She holds onto questions feverishly tight, that one. Lights them up inside like a new type of fuel without the slightest worry of being burned. She knows... There is but a certain few who can look at a map and find nothing where I stand but the Atlantic Ocean. And still, there is earth beneath me, a noisy pub down the road from me, and several people clucking conspiratorially on a balcony above me. She knows... that the Isle of Red doesn't belong here. Neither, technically, do I. (Hello! A little bit of Villainy
Our world has become an apocalyptic wasteland where the only law is that of the strongest. In this nightmare, a band heroes rise up to save the remnants of humanity from itself. They build a great city to shelter the weak, only for the city (and all its inhabitants) to get blown to pieces by what many would call a villain. All the heroes die in the explosion but the goddesses of light and order transport their souls to a fantasy universe where they need to vanquish the demons and save humanity. The heroes succeed and 'peace' returns. These acts left the goddess of Chaos dying and as you all know desperate times call for desperate measures. "The only thing that can defeat a hero is a villain and luckily I know where to find one, one that has already killed them once." , -The goddess of chaos The Villain that once bested the heroes gets revived as a Dracolich, an undead dragon of great power, and brings with him a storm a Chaos and Fun. "I can't really say I won against them in our last life since we all ended dying in that explosion, but this time I'm gonna win our fun little rematch."- Villain This story is about a Villain who just wants to have a good time and maybe create a little mayhem. Note: I know I tagged this story with an anti-hero lead tag, but that is only because there is no tag called villain lead.
