《Burning Moths》Tala: A Bridge Too Far
Advertisement
This time you have pushed me too far!
Why have you burned the final bridge?
Did you think I'd come running to you,
My dazzling knight in shining armor?
Think again!
Might is right? If that be your battle cry,
May I be damned to a life of mediocrity
Better to stand alone beside Lady Justice
Than to fall to depths hitherto unknown
Don't you see? They took your sorrow,
Your pain and weaponized it against us.
How could a star that shone so brightly
Be lured so quickly toward the darkness?
It is not I who must break free. It is you!
Trapped, lost, and alone no matter
How many skirts traipse after you
Admiring your flimsy house of cards.
Break free, my love. Break free before
They force you to commit a crime
From which redemption cannot come.
This is not you! I remember a kind man,
A man of honor who loved and believed.
He lies there still beneath the ashy ruins,
Draped in a cloak of darkness and doubt.
All you must do is cast the cloak aside.
Forgive me for breaking your heart,
But you have fallen too far from me.
Ironically I'm living the life you wanted
To create together, if only you'd let go.
Now we shall live separately in sadness.
My time for raising children has passed
That ship has long departed without me,
But believe me, humanity will continue.
When you gave up your belief in God,
This I did not foresee. I longed for you
To break free, not to adopt an even more
Elaborate prison for your beautiful mind.
Why did you let the vile viper's venom
Seep into your veins and spread poison
To convert thoughts, once as radiant as
The passion burning in your pure heart?
Come back to me, Richard Marino!
Come back before it's too late!

The Demon of Shadows (Hiatus)
Spartans. Genetically modified supersoldiers who participated in the spartan program, which aimed to reinforce and compensate for the humans capability of emotion in order to create the ideal supersoldier. The program itself resulting in the implantation of a limiter for a certain individual, which acted in limiting that persons emotions. Replacing it with a cold logical based calculative mindscape. The limiter aimed to support the ideal supersoldier in completing the objectives assigned to them. Be it mass slaughter, or assasination. One such man who had volunteered to participate in the program to provide data in return for a large sum of money to save a precious friend, has his life lost in battle after years of service and mindless violence. Death, however, was something he usually gave, not to receive. So when death comes to take his life, he awaits in silence, only to be dumbfounded at what is to happen next. This is the story of Nicholas Gray, the Shadow Demon. Note: Story is based on other LitRPGs found on the site such as Dante's Immortality, Necromancer and Co, etc. and on Halo for the majority of the first chapter and possibly later on down the road, I only borrowed things such as the armour and weapons used in the game itself and all credit goes to them for that kind of stuff. I will also perhaps use it to explain his backstroy to further character progression if I can. The cover photo was also a picture I found on the internet and if you wish for credit or for me to take it down just say so and i'll do it as fast as possible. I also don't have a set schedule, and this is just being used to improve my grammar and just as a hobby, nothing more. I will also appreciate feedback in regards to grammar, style, and story in general as this is the first time I have created a story apart from at school, hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it!

Celestial Botany
Erica Moore was offered the chance of staying herself during her next life, but decided that an unknown cost was too high a price to pay. In trying to get some peace from Faustian bargains, she accidentally got herself stuck outside the cycle of reincarnation. Aided by an eccentric gardener-goddess and armed with lifetime of stories, Erica will have to earn each new life. She will need to navigate identity as each new life changes her, and if she wants an overpowered reincarnator cheat ability, she will need to build it herself. The concept for this story was influenced by Vladerag’s The Many Lives of Cadence Lee, QuietValerie’s Ryn of Avonside, and the relentless stream of new worlds that my brain dumps on me. I hope you enjoy, and thank you for reading!
