《Pink and Yellow - Trimberly》Chapter 10

"I'm dying..."
"Trini..."
"I'm gonna diiiiiie"
"Trini, it's been 5 minutes."
"Nope. I'm dying."
We sat on my bed with both our laptops. We got about 5 minutes in the project before this little annoying ball of sunshine began to complain. I felt like complaining too but that wouldn't have gotten us anywhere.
I took out my phone to look at the time. It was 4:40. We rushed back to my place to attempt to finish the Biology project but at this rate, I don't think we'll get half done.
The Yellow Ranger hasn't slept in her own bed, now that I think about it. She's stayed at my house for the past few days. I'm completely fine with it but I hope everything is alright back at her home. I now share my clothes with her and she eats dinner with me. Honestly, it's been really nice having company. Especially when it's Trini.
"Ok we like... actually have to work on this shit if we wanna finish it and get a good grade." I grumbled and looked down at my laptop. We had 2 slides and we needed 18. Amazing.
The Latina dramatically flopped back on the bed and groaned. "Ok...Fine." She sat up and opened her laptop. "You do know if you weren't my parter, I wouldn't even be doing this, right?"
"I know." I grinned proudly. "And don't worry, I think I hate this as much as you do."
"I don't think so. This is more of a tragedy than the Titanic hitting an iceberg. This is like us hitting reality." She rolled her eyes.
I could only laugh at her. "You're so dramatic." I chuckled.
"You know it." She flipped her hair over with her hand.
After a few more minutes of... Flirting? Teasing? After a few more minutes of whatever, We decided that she works on gathering information for the board, and I search for info for the slides. Out of all the classes, this just had to be a project for Biology. Probably my worst subject.
"Do you think we have to present this piece of crap?" Trini asked.
"Don't think so. It doesn't say that anywhere on the handouts she gave us.
"We better not be presenting." She whispered.

We made quite a bit of progress in the little time. We spent maybe three and a half hours on it and were close to half way. It's now 8 something and we're both distracted.
Mostly by each other. We would try to work then one of us would crack a joke and everything would go downhill from there.
Because of all the work, we apparently forgot to eat dinner. We headed downstairs and I took out left over Chinese food from last night.
"What slide are you on?" Trini asked while picking up a spoonful of rice.
"8, close to 9. It's hard finding all the information. She's giving us impossible shit to search."
"Exactly. I think I'm almost done with the board. After that I can help you with the Powerpoint."
"Yeah, that would be helpful." I glanced at the time. "Ugh, 8:58 and im already so tired. This thing is ridiculous."
"Maybe if you payed attention, you would have started sooner." She smirked.
"Fucking hypocrite over here." I raised an eyebrow.
"I was busy not giving a damn to know what was happening in the class. I never heard her say a project."
"You should of been paying attention."
"Well, were you? I don't really think you know exactly what you're doing either. Who's the hypocrite now?"
"If you don't remember, I was put in detention, also." I scoffed playfully.
"And I think if you weren't put in detention with me, then we wouldn't have been partners. I was fine getting a zero but you just had to be there."
"Why don't you get a zero then? Why do you care?"
"Because I'm partners with you and if I get a zero, you get a zero." Her expression turned slightly serious. "Why did you get detention in the first place? I remember you fighting over ink on my clothes."
"Yeah... You care enough about me to keep my grade up. How sweet." I laughed, avoiding her question.
I wouldn't tell her this but I did get detention on purpose. At the time, she wasn't speaking to me and I didn't make it a huge deal but it really hurt. I try not to think too much on it and make an excuse as to why she avoided me. But being in detention made me a little bit closer to her even if she wasn't talking directly to me. She's not the only one who has to hide their feelings.

"You're thinking." She furrowed her eyebrows. "You good?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." I assured her and continued to eat.
She rolled her eyes. "I know what "fine" means, Kim. What are you thinking about."
"Really nothing. It's alright, I'm alright. Ok?" I chuckled.
"Ok..."
We went back to my bedroom to finish our project. It took forever for us to find the last bit of information for the last few slides. It was near midnight and we weren't as tired as we expected. We were so close to finishing the Powerpoint before we decided to take a break for a few minutes.
I leaned back against the headboard and Trini sat in front of me with her legs crossed. We stared at each other, admiring the other. My eyes scanned her face, taking in every little detail. I took deep breaths, becoming nervous all of a sudden.
The room was dark except for my nightstand lamp. Her face glowed perfectly. After a couple of minutes, I couldn't help myself. It was as if I wasn't controlling my body anymore. I knew I've wanted to do this for a while but never had the courage. Now seemed like the best time as ever to do it.
I leaned in closer to her, our foreheads almost touching. I looked in her eyes before quickly glancing at her lips. I took a few more deep breaths and closed the gap between us, taking her lips in mine. Once our mouths connected, a wave of shock rushed through my entire body and I immediately felt so alive.
The kiss only lasted a few seconds before I pulled away. My eyes slowly opened and saw Trini's face filled with what looked like hurt and sadness. I tried to make eye contact with her but she avoided my gaze. I was about to speak but before I had the chance, she jumped off the bed, slid open the window, and rushed out.
I still sat on my bed, trying to understand what just happened. No. No way. This is not happening again. I got up and jumped out my window. I chased after her and yelled her name to stop. She sprinted at top speed and I couldn't make out where. We kept running and running until she stopped in front of a forest.
I tackled her. And this time, it was on purpose. I stood up and before she could run again, I grabbed both of her wrists.
"What the hell." I said out of breath. She just looked at me. "What's wrong, please.
Silence.
I sighed. "I refuse." She gave me a confused look. "I refuse. This is not happening. You are not running away from me again. Just- just talk to me, please." I begged.
Her eyes became glossy as she fought back her tears. She was being brave and I didn't like that at all. I want her to trust me enough to let me see her for who she is. I don't want her to act brave or happy when she's not. I want her to talk to me. I need her to say something.
"Trini, this can't keep on happening. Whatever is wrong you need to tell me, I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere. Neither are you. I'm not losing you again because-"
In a second, she escaped my grip and cupped both sides of my face. She looked my in the eye before crashing her lips on mine. All of a sudden, breathing wasn't a problem and we fell in synch almost instantly. It was slow but full of need and passion. It's as if she put everything into it. She was giving all of her to me in one simple kiss and it made me feel amazing.
I pulled away not wanted to but desperately needed air. She rested her forehead on mine and we both kept our eyes shut. We stayed like that for a minute, breathing heavily. She started to caress my cheeks with her thumbs and then pulled me in again for a quick kiss. When she pulled away she looked into my eyes.
"I'm not going anywhere."
