《Pink and Yellow - Trimberly》Chapter 4

"Run."
"What?"
"I said run! Now!" The Pink Ranger grabbed my arm and pulled me along next to her as we both ran.
We sprinted on what looked like a never ending street. The buildings on either side of us were pitch black and the sky was a dark shade of gray. I glance behind us and saw the the street crumble and fall into an endless void. The faster we ran, the faster everything would disappear in the void.
We kept running straight ahead, becoming more and more exhausted. There was no way we would be able to keep up the pace. I look behind me one last time and see nothing but darkness. Turning back around, I hear Kimberly scream and we both fall into emptiness.
I suddenly land on my back on hard gravel. I slowly stand up and look around me. Nothing. The only light was a small circle surrounding me. A few seconds passed until another light shone on the ground and Kimberly stepping in it. Her face was scratched and bruised. The left sleeve of her t-shirt was slightly ripped off her shoulder and on both her arms were more cuts.
"Where were you." She asked with no emotion.
"I...What..." I stuttered out.
"Where were you."
"I don't understand." I whispered.
"Why didn't you help me."
"I wanted to. I swear but I couldn't." My voice cracked.
She took a step back in the darkness so I was unable to see her. The light disappeared leaving me alone and scared. Everywhere, the ground shook and fell once more into the void taking me down with it."
"Trini!"
I jolted awake breathing heavily. I was instantly met another pair of brown eyes. My mom gave me a strange look before speaking in an annoyed tone.

"Trini, get up and get ready. You slept in and you're going to be late for school."
I turn my head towards my alarm clock that failed to go off. The time read 7:30 A.M. I definitely was late. After a few curses under my breath I hopped up, quickly got ready and ran out the door skipping breakfast. I arrived just in time for the first period bell to ring. I sat in my assigned seat and instantly got lost in thought.
I was starving. Each class I would pray for the time to go faster. My stomach was growling every other second needing food. When lunch time finally came around, I ran out of class and to the cafeteria. I ordered my lunch and decided to eat outside to avoid the other loud students. Finding a table outside, I got comfortable and began to eat.
A few moments later Zack, Billy, Jason sat down across from me at the same table. They said hey and I gave them a small shy smile. I didn't want to talk really but they made no intentions on leaving until I said something.
"Hey, Crazy Girl, what's up?" Zack smiled.
"Yeah, where were you?" Jason added raising an eyebrow.
Jason's words hit me hard, remembering the nightmare I had just last night. I did pretty well shoving it aside for the day but hearing what the Pink Ranger said in my dream out loud made me tense up. After a few seconds, I was able to calm myself only to give the boys a shrug.
"How have you been lately, Trini?" Billy spoke politely. "We haven't talked in a while or hung out."
"Yeah. Aside from practicing in the pit, we usually never see you around school." Zack pointed out.

I shrugged again earning a confused look from the boys. It was true we never saw one another other than the pit. Whenever we practiced in the pit after school, I wouldn't talk to them. The only answer I would give them is a nod of my head or a shrug. Sometimes a small smile but nothing audible.
"Ya know, Trini, you can talk to us." Jason said.
I just shrugged for the third time. The three boys all looked at each other before sighing. They knew they weren't getting anywhere so they all stood up about to walk away.
"See you around." Zack smiled and waved.
"Yeah, hope you're alright." Billy chimed in.
"Bye, Trini. Call us or text if you wanna hang out or talk, kay?" Jason added.
I nodded then waved goodbye and watch them walk back into the school. I turned my focus back on my lunch and ate in silence.
The last few classes were just plain blah. Nothing interesting happened as always. Next and the last class was Biology. At least something happens in Biology but other than that it's boring. I was fiddling with a black pen for a while having nothing else to do. Of course I could always listen to the lesson but I mean why would I do that?
I squeezed the pen I was messing with a little too hard. The dark ink splattered all over my hands, shirt, and a bit on my pants.
"Fuck." I said a little louder than I wanted.
In a few seconds, all eyes were on me including the teacher's. I look over at Kimberly and she's laughing at me. I smirk and roll my eyes playfully then look back at Miss Norris. She didn't look too angry which surprised me.
"Language, Miss Kwan." She eyed me.
"Uh yeah sorry. But can I go clean up?" I raised my hands to show the ink all over them.
"No. Stay seated until class is over."
"Why won't you just let her clean up now. She's uncomfortable and class doesn't end in 40 minutes." A voice said that surprised me. It was Kimberly's.
"I'm in the middle of a lesson and she can wait." Miss Norris replied.
"It's not like she pays attention anyway." Kimberly rolled her eyes.
I just sat there like everyone else watching as the two went at it. It was weird Kimberly talking back to the teacher. The ink wasn't even that big of a deal. And the next thing I know, I hear the teacher's voice telling Kimberly she has detention.
"What? I didn't do anything?" She blurted out.
"Two days of detention." Miss Norris said.
"What the fuck?" Kimberly looked around at everyone wondering if they knew how ridiculous the situation was.
"A week of detention. For talking back and using foul language." The teacher spat.
Kimberly threw up her arms in defeat and sat back in her seat groaning in annoyance. It only took me a minute to understand. She has a week of detention. With me. This is going to be interesting.
Shit.

Under a Boundless Sky
If you were to ask someone what they thought of Revian Snow, they would say that she's small. Cute too. Doesn't talk much. Average grades, and hard to find in a crowd, though you'd think that someone with her looks would be more noticeable. She also plays the popular VRMMO's for some reason, but doesn't like to interact with others too much, even online. In short, she doesn't stand out too much. She likes it that way—After all, it's much easier to keep a secret when nobody's looking for one. If you enjoy my work, please consider supporting me on Patreon. Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
